Two Novellas of Terror from Blood Bound Books!
"The boogeymen that inhabit the pages of Scarecrow & The Madness come from no supernatural plane of existence. Instead, they come from the scariest place on earth: the human mind. These tales take place in our world with no hint of assistance from other worldly forces, which is what makes them both so wonderfully diabolical

I read Scarecrow as Craig Saunders is now in the Darkfuse stable but an intriguing story where Gypsies set up in a farmland community, for you English out there its a bit like Snatch (the film) meets Last of the Summer Wine (old sitcom).
Bernard & Margaret fall foul of the gypsies when Bernard is involved in an altercation in the local boozer, he slaps one of the young lads and they swear revenge on him.

Scarecrow:

4 stars

Craig Saunders shows he likes twists and turns when he leads you along the dark paths of his mind. He’ll stop to show you the blood and then laugh when you see the disfigured face reflecting in it’s puddled surface.

Bernie and his wife – Margaret – live a simple predictable life in the country, tending their farm. So, when the police come to warn them about gypsies and the possible trouble they can bring, Margaret shrugs it off; she also prevents Bernie from taking action to prot

Blood Bound Books has brought together two novella length stories and put them together in one nice package. Two stories about the twists and turns of the human mind, both of these tales are horror stories, but don’t expect any supernatural elements or creatures from beyond from these pages. No, the bogeymen that inhabit their pages are straight from the scariest place on earth: the human mind. In other words, both of these tales could take place in our world with no hint of assistance from ...more

Kudos to Robert Essig - excellent.
Craig Saunders is unbelievably talented!! I love humor sprinkled on my horror - it makes the smash in the face all the more potent. I love his stories just as much as Stephen King's - fact. I positively cannot get enough!! :D

I was contacted to read and review this for my site Shivers of Horror and at the time had never heard of it so I wasn't quite sure what to expect.

The introduction story "Scarecrow" has a lot of dialogue that has a very heavy accent to it, and for me that made it a difficult read. I hate reading heavy accents. It took awhile to get into because of this and on top of that the story (to me) was
