This book was recommended to me by a new friend and I have to say I really, really enjoyed it. Although we both didn't realize it at the time, it was actual book two of a three book trilogy....lol.

Cadde Hardin is all about Shilah Oil. He is a true business man that likes to work long hours and give the job his whole undivided attention. Cadde was never in the market for a wife at least not until his boss and mentor R. Murdock offers him a deal he just can't refuse. Seeing this as the opportunit...more

Jessie has been in love with Cadde forever and she's been married to him for a year and a half. Unfortunately, it's a marriage of convenience. Jessie's father arranged the marriage on his death bed. Cadde would look after Jessie in exchange for becoming the CEO of an oil company. They live in separate houses and have separate houses. They haven't even slept together. Cadde hasn't shown any interest in making this marriage real.

But Jessie aimed to change all that by making another deal with Cadde...more

Love will always win out.

I've had the honor of reading the other books in Ms. Warren's Hardin Boys series. I'm glad I got this one as well. Ms. Warren writes stories with characters I can't forget and situations I need to root for them to overcome. The words simply flow on the page and take the reader from scene to scene effortlessly. I might not have agreed with every single one of the characters' actions - who really does? That's wh...more

Meanwhile Cadde's dream has always been the oil business so he has worked in Shilah oil company for Jessie's dad and before he passes away he makes sure Cadde marries Jessie for Shilah shares and makes him CEO ... Together they decide to give their marriage a real chance. With obstacles along the way they make it wo...more

I enjoyed this story, more than I thought I would. At first I couldn't really relate to the hero or the heroine, couldn't see how they were meant to be together. But, I got wrapped up in their story and couldn't wait for them to get their happily ever after in the end.

Where to start?

Jessie is a woman child to the third degree, she has 0 self confidence and everybody around her smothers her to death trying to coddle her and keep her safe.

Cadde is so generic and boring to read, he has 0 personality, 0 charm, 0 sex appeal. He is so bland that plain quinoa poultice would taste like the best thing ever if they where ever to compete.

Their relationship is one sad attempt at having a life and one creepy, manipulative move from Jessie's father. Despite the fact tha...more
