This is starting to be a trend: the book that starts out well and has an interesting premise, but peters out before the end. I loved the notion of artificially created life being commonplace and its products being in uncertain legal circumstances, but it just didn't go anywhere interesting. Maybe it's my technique for picking out books that's at fault, or maybe it's the publishing industry's new technique.
