My full Something Witchy This Way Comes review can be found at Agrippina Legit.

Something Witchy This Way Comes is a great escapist read. Veronica Blade has an easy style that swiftly carries the reader from start to finish and lovers of romance will greatly appreciate the will-they-won't-they tension between her two main characters.

The novel is written using alternating first-person perspectives, meaning that readers are able to see into the minds (and motivations) of bo More...

I thoroughly enjoyed Something Witchy and totally recommend it if you're looking for a great read. This story wasn’t dystopian or too dark, but wasn’t too fluffy either. Perfect!

This author has subtle humor and I liked that there were witches and magic but the focus was on the romance between Hayden and Tessa. More perfections. The romance is almost always my favorite part!

I loved Hayden and I didn’t care that he was way too young for me. He was HOT. Who doesn’t love a ba More...

Tessa McClean is in high school. Soon she will turn eighteen. One morning she is summoned to the new Principal's office to be told that her life is in danger. Someone is after her. She is told that they want Hayden Anders, another kid in her school to be her bodyguard. At first, Tessa is against it. Hayden is a trouble maker, yes he is handsome but he has broken more hearts at her school than she can count. Hayden is not crazy about this either, but when he is offered a letter of recommendatio More...

As a senior in high school, Tessa has an incredible amount of stress to deal with, including absentee parents (both emotionally and physically), a very young sister to take care of, and now a mysterious set of factions that are trying to force her to choose sides. And neither side are very forthcoming with information.
At this point Hayden enters the picture reluctantly. He's always been around, but he's in another social class than Tessa (his family has money), and they don't interact. He More...

I received a copy of this from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
Tessa discovers she is a witch, but this means she is in danger, two rival covens are vying for her attention and she isn't sure who to trust. Bad boy Hayden is assigned to guard her whilst at school, Tessa can't believe she has to be stuck with him, but soon they form a team and try to work out just which side they should choose. With lots of unexpected twists and mysterious appearances the choice isn't easy.

Hayden is somewhat of a bad boy and gets all of the girls in high school. When the vice principal asks him to act as a body guard for another student, of course his answer is a resounding no. Once he meets the girl he's to protect, however, it's not all that difficult to change his mind. With problems at home and a future to figure out, he may not have much of a choice anyway.

Tessa is blindsided when the principal and an FBI agent call her into their office and explain her family is More...

When I heard the title of this book, I just knew I had to read it! Then I saw the cover and read the description, and I was even more excited! Sometimes that's a bad thing, though - to go into a book with really high expectations can lead to a really big letdown if the book doesn't meet those expectations. I am very happy to report that that was not the case here - I really enjoyed it!

Tessa and Hayden go to high school together, but they hang out in totally separate groups. Tessa is More...

Something Witchy This Way Comes is a story of budding young sorcerers discovering their supernatural talents and finding love. Author Veronica Blade has created a world of battling witches, each campaigning for new recruits with gentle encouragement, promises of protection, and intimidating threats. The lead characters’ back stories add texture and weight to this tale of otherworldly powers.

When Hayden is recruited by his new high school principal to guard a fellow classmate, Tessa, he More...

Veronica Blade easily bewitches readers with her phenomenal young adult novel Something Witchy This Way Comes!

To put it simply, I loved this book. The main character, Tessa is sassy, brave, smart and completely unsuspecting of what is about to come her way. Imagine being 17 years old and suddenly learning that you are a witch with fantastic powers and that there are two groups vying for you to join them. If you just happen to choose the wrong one, death may always lurk around the co More...

Something Witchy This Way Comes is a YA Paranormal Romance.

Seventeen year old, Tessa McClean, has just been told someone is trying to kill her. Principal Linton and FBI agent Phillips believe it would be best if Hayden Anders, a rich bad boy who can handle his own in a fight, follow and protect Tessa until his replacement arrives.

Hayden has no desire to babysit Tessa but after promises of his slate being wiped clean, he agrees and at first he treats it like a babysitting job More...

First Impressions: Every once in a while, I like to take on a book that seems to be a bit of an underdog. Usually it’s something that catches my attention, but flies under most people’s radar. Something Witchy This Way Comes had a neat cover and once I read the synopsis, it seemed like it would be something I would enjoy.

The story is written in two POVs: Tessa and Haden’s.
Hayden is summoned to the high school’s new principal’s office, and is enlisted to be Tessa’s bodyguard while on school grounds. The Principal believes Tessa is in danger. Hayden resists this offer, but with a little convincing from the principal, he reluctantly agrees.
Tessa on the other hand wonders why she requires a bodyguard, and even much worse, that it has to be Hayden –He is known as the love them leave them kind of guy, w More...

This is an awsome book that is a quick read to get you away from the mundane of everyday life. There is a romantic tension between Hayden and Tessa that keeps you guessing as to if it will or could be. At somepoints you almost feel sorry for Hayeden.

No surprise, I loved this book as well! There's two main characters, Tessa and Hayden, a good girl and a bad boy. It's a very common setup, but this book definitely stands out.
It turns out that Tessa has some magical power. This she learns one day, when she's asked to principal's office. Hayden is asked to be her bodyguard. After that everything speeds up, and there's no dull moment!

This novel is full of action and mystery. Tessa was a great main character, she leads the reader through the story and allows the reader to view her innermost thoughts. Tessa is sometimes volatile, smart, brave, and inquisitive. The reader may want to shake the love interest, Hayden, every once and awhile. He is one of those charismatic heart breakers...he can be devoted, but the reader will still view a few scenes that will frustrate him/her.

Both vying to win them to their own sides. Hayden has defended himself in several fights on school grounds and is persuaded to "guard" Tessa until a permanent bodyguard is found.

This book is a sweet paranormal romance, easy to read and fast-paced. Although the good girl falling for the bad boy was an inevitable outcome from the start, it was described very nicely from the alternating first person narratives of the two protagonists, Tessa and Hayden.
Both characters are well drawn, and the similarities in their lives - their problems with their parents, their need to escape and find someone who cares - make the romance believable.

Something Witchy opens with Tessa and Hayden being thrown together. Tessa is in trouble and Hayden has been given the job of protecting her, not that he's a real bodyguard or anything. They're just students in the same school. They know of each other, but they're not exactly friends. And now they have to spend the entire school day together as Hayden has to shadow Tessa and keep her safe. Inevitably (because this is a book after all) romance blooms, as the over-muscled bad boy and the cute More...

I want to thank the group Making Connections on Goodreads for this opportunity to discover an amazing book. Of course, I want to thank the author for a free ebook copy of her book. Now, I'm planning to buy it in paperback version!

What I Liked:
Characters. Most of the characters in Something Witchy This Way Comes really surprised me. They were really interesting and just when I thought I had them figured out, they did something to change my opinion. Most notably Hayden, who for a majority of the novel is portrayed as this bad boy heart throb super player that is just a "Wham, bam, thank you ma'am"kind of guy. But when he's given the task of protecting Tessa, the main character, he really steps up and after More...

Tess is in a quandary. She comes to school on a normal day, gets called into the Principals office, she's told that she is in danger and then is assigned the schools bad/playboy to be her bodyguard.

She soon finds out that she is part of a small group of witches/sorcerers. She is being taught how to use her magic from her principal and a lady who poses as an FBI agent. As time progresses, she learns that there is a wizarding war happening. Two factions are trying to recruit and ga More...

This was a well written, good young adult book. Delving into the world of teenagers, it brought on feelings of teenage frustrations and hormones despite the forced maturity of the characters. The paranormal world of witches and sorcerers were believable and well thought out. Tessa was a fabulous character who played a good balance between excited teenager and newly discovered witch. Hayden's character showed great growth and development. Their romance was hot and heavy without going over th More...

Something Witchy This Way Comes is an extremely entertaining and enjoyable paranormal, mixed with a love story and I really liked it. When you add the two of those together you get lots of twists and turns. This is a YA paranormal romance leaning more towards the older end of the spectrum. I have such a thing for the tortured bad boy who turns out to have a heart. I love when the bad boy falls for the good girl. *Sighs* Tessa is an amazing heroine. She is strong with a big heart. If y More...
