Recommends it for: budding songwriters, composers, or musicians interested in expanding their craft
Shelves: music, non-fiction
This book was very good at taking you, step-by-step, through the craft of music composition. While much of this book is geared at classical composition styles, there is plenty for the budding songwriter. The best part of this book is that every example of technique is illustrated with musical notation in addition to the text. A very good book for those looking into composition.
