Wow, for a short story this was awesome. This is the first of Trisha Wolfe's stories I have read. I was totally pulled in from the beginning. I love stories with action and romance.
The Kingdom of Karm is supposed to protect it's people from the Outside, the wasteland. King Hart rules Karm. Fallon is a Rebel sent on a mission to dispose of one of Karm's men. During her mission she questions her leaders intentions and wonders what Xander has done to be placed with a death wish. Micha, Fallon's le...more

Firstly, I’d like to say thank you to the author for asking me to review this book because without her asking me I don’t think I would ever have found out about it and I’m so glad I did.
Unveiled is about a young girl Fallon who is an assassin. When she is given a job to go and kill a young knight, she doesn’t question it. You never question your job. But when Fallon meets Xander she feels something isn’t right and can’t help question why has she been sent to kill this knight. With secrets surro...more

Unveiled by Trisha Wolfe was thrilling. That is one of the only words I can use to describe the world Trisha Wolfe has created. This book will have you on the edge of your seat from the very first page, to the very last sentence.
When I first heard about Unveiled, I was on Twitter. I saw one of my friends had posted a review of Unveiled up on their blog. I fell in love with the summary of this novelette, so I Tweeted Trisha. She then offered me a free copy—because she’s a pimp like that—in exchan...more

Unveiled is a short dystopian story. I am actually shocked at how small the book is, but yet it's jammed packed with awesomeness. It has everything and more you would expect from a Dystopian novel. You would think from looking at the cover that it takes place back in like the 1800's, but it actually takes place in the year 2130. The world has been destroyed by a war and Fallon and her people now live behind a barrier that keeps them hidden and everyone is taught to act like it’s the 1800's. Fall...more
My Summary:
Fallon has been sent on her first mission for the rebels. Dressed in silk (What is up with that?) and dancing is not quite what she would have preferred for a first mission but she needs to prove herself to the rebels. No questions, just do it. She’s capable, having trained since she was eleven. Her mentor thinks she's ready and the King is wrong. There has to be a better way than this sick utopian bubble where the virus takes everyone eventually. All she has to do is kill one knight...more

I enjoyed this short novella, though I didn’t feel like I was able to taste enough of the world to really make an opinion of it. But I did read enough to be interested in a longer novel. The story also teased out several questions for a book: (view spoiler). The dystopian society, built on a past time (not sure if it was one time period or a jumble – regency Eng...more
Wow, this is so good! I NEED more of this story! Like...right now! :)

Review: I am really crossing my fingers that Trisha publishes a full book of this story because it is amazing! Unveiled is a short story but one that really packs a punch! This story was unique because it was a dystopian with a "past" type of setting of Karm, with castles and knights and beautiful dances.

It's totally my fault that when I bought this story I thought it to be a novel. In reality it's a short story and a very good teaser sample of Trisha's writing.
The writing just flows and the post-apocalyptic world is very peculiar and interesting. City of Karm is King's deranged idea of safe heaven as Camelot, with balls, feasts, knights and ladies in beautiful gowns
Rebels want to explore the world outside Karm, the forbidden technology, the marvels of medicine of the past and the prohibited sci...more

Fallon has been given a mission. Her first. She's told to kill one of the king's knights, Xander, and prove her loyalty to the Rebels and the woman who has raised her.
But to Fallon's dismay, when she meets her mark, an unbidden attraction springs up between them. Despite being a knight of the Force, Xander too wonders at what lies Outside. And he's never heard of the Rebels.
So why do they want him dead?

I really enjoyed reading this! It was a really quick read, but it does a good job of catching the readers interest. It doesn't divulge all of Karm's secrets, but in a way I liked that because it leaves so much left for the book that I read the author was writing. The plot was interesting, and even though they moved quickly the characters were still very distinctive. I personally can't wait to read more about this world!

We were a bit skeptical as to how you could create an entire world and story in so few pages, but Tricia Wolfe did it. Not only did she do it, she kicked ass with it.
In mere pages, we were introduced to the city of Karm and how it came to be. We were also introduced to Fallon, who is an assassin clad in a silk dress.

I started out thinking this was going to be great--I found the set up really interesting, and the story jumps right into the action. But as another reviewer said, this has the plot line of a full-length novel squished into only 40 pages, and it just didn't work. Everything happens too quickly and without enough depth to make it feel even the slightest bit believable. And towards the end, the writing really suffered, as though Wolfe was just trying to wrap things up in the shortest amount of time...more

Wow, what a surprise this turned out to be. I received this for review from the author months ago and I cannot believe I didn't read it until now. I was pleasantly surprised and I really hope that she plans to turn this into a series.

First thoughts:
I'm very happy that I received a review e-copy of Unveiled, because even though it's a short story, it was a fantastic read and totally captivated me. Trisha Wolfe created a wonderful and very interesting world that I would love to see more of.

First off I have to say I adore the setting of this stories world, it's a way of living from the past set in the future - with technology! Ok, I should clarify a little here, King Hart has built a 'utopia' after the world has been ravaged by a virus, except King Hart is maybe a little crazy and has made his new world to resemble the days of Camelot and everyone must live like that, think knights, big dresses and phrases like 'Good sir,' except he's merged technology with his old way of living. I...more
For such a short story I totally fell in love with the characters. Fallon and Xander are dynamic, and they are thinkers in a world where it's discouraged. I love the difference they made in their journey together.
It started with her aiming to kill him, but she starts thinking for herself when she makes a few mistakes and gets into a conversation with him. It turns out that he has a sharp mind, and that he explores outside the boundaries that the king of their dystopian universe sets out.

There's only two words to describe this book - PURE AWESOMENESS!
I love the plot and the chemistry between the two main characters is off the roof! I really really hope Trisha will be working on full length novel using the characters from this book. I would definitely love to get to know the characters more!

Unveiled is a very special novelette to me. I love it with all my heart, and the author who wrote it. Trisha Wolfe is my sweet daughter, who also is my heart, and I'm very proud of her and her first published Novelette. It's a little longer than her short stories, and every bit as action-packed and romantic as her novels. I was Trisha's beta reader for Unveiled, so I definitely know this story by heart lol! The romance between Fallon and Xander is hot, and their banter is so much fun. Even for a...more
This story was simply enchanting. I haven't read much Dystopian but have been meaning to get more into the genre. This was such a unique take on Dystopian. I love that even though it takes place in the future, the city of Karm is fashioned like King Arthur's court in Camelot. It adds an element of romance to the story. And of course, knights.

This was a great short novella, with a neat quick story all bundled into 40 pages! Fallon is a trained assassin for the rebels, and her first assignment is to murder one of the king’s knights. The problem is, when she meets him, something about him intrigues her. She begins to wonder why she was sent to kill him, and she can’t deny her strong attraction to him. Will she carry out her mission, or is Xander destined to be in her life? Can’t give away much more than that since it's a short, but I w...more
Romance, action, strong protagonist, unique premise, hot guy, fun historical feel, witty dialogue, amazing pace, pretty dresses, swoony kisses. . .
Trisha Wolfe packs so much into this short story that it blows my mind. And from the very first word, she had me hooked into her Camelot-esque story world. Fallon is an awesome fiesty protagonist, and despite the story length, we actually get to *know* her. And the love interest, Xander, is not only achingly hot, but he has depth. i just recently got a nook (even though i've worked at barnes and noble since around the time they came out), and this was one of the $1 books i stumbled upon. i have to sy i was upset it was only 34 pages! i guess i should've read that it was a short story but i was looking forward to some build up, not being dropped right into the middle of conflict and then be expected to care about the main character. even though i say this it was a good 30 minutes of relaxation at work. i would recommend it...more
UNVEILED is a short story with a big punch. Or I should say, a steamy punch. Wolfe has a way of creating magnetic characters who drag you in and don't let go. UNVEILED, though it's packed with action, is more of a seduction. No matter what, readers can't help following along.
I loved the movement in this story. Many shorties feel stagnant in their location, but this baby introduces readers to a unique dystopian world, then allows them to explore several different landscapes within it.

In a novelette (somewhere between a short story and a novella), the author introduces 17-year-old Fallon, who lives in a dystopian world where the past is the present, in a manner of speaking. Trained by a rebel faction to be an assassin, Fallon’s first target is Xander, a knight of Karm, home of King Hart and the utopian society he has created from the remains of the world that used to be. Fallon doesn’t know why Xander has been condemned but she will follow her orders—or will she?

In this dystopian novella, rebels are trying to free their world from King Hart. He has forced their world to return to an Arthurian way of life. He believes that technology is to blame for the destruction of the world outside the barrier shield in which they live. Anachronisms are against the law.

I love to read a historical Novel from time to time.
So, it's hardly surprising that "Unveiled" captured my attention from the beginning.
At first, it feels like the plot is set in a victorian era, but then Fallon hints at a more advanced timeline. Later, it becomes clear that the story plays in the future, where the society has some strange believes due to King Hart's elementary laws and ethics.
For example, that the life was more peaceful in the medieval time periods and thus everyone has to act...more

Picked this up as a freebie for Nook and generally, I enjoyed it. It combined my two favorite things: fantasy in a dystopian world. Trisha Wolfe did a good job of making a breathable MC and it was just a quick, light read that any YA fan would enjoy--particularly ones who enjoy fantasy and dystopian fiction like myself...
Recommended for: YA 14+ for some mild language and a bit of violence; fans of battles and ball gowns will appreciate this as well.
