Though there were many ups in this novel what seemed to bother me was how they were high up on hey your mine no your mine which obviously your going to get a lot of since this is a novel about werewolves and werewolves do tend to be quite possesive which i understand but hearing it all the time just bothers me because if i was in a type of situation like that i wouldnt want someone always trying to claim me like that though bryn did give them free will and didnt force anything on them she did slightly get a bit possesive in what i percieved from reading the raised by wolves books above from all this the novels were highly interesting and kept me wanting to read more and more which is a very good thing though the ending for me was quiet blatanly obvious i mean c'mon you all must have seen it coming though this for me made it all the more captivating leaving me biting my nails anxiously waiting/hoping for the next book.

I wasn´t expecting much of the book, but it surprised me. Out of the 3 books, I think this one is the best in the series so far.

Everything starts when Shay calls a Senate meeting because there´s a new Rabid on the loose, but what really matters is that the Rabid is a female. So of course everyone asks Bryn if any of her females are missing and that where everything gets tricky...

Chase dies... Seriously? What the actual hell?

I will still read the next one (if there is a next one) since I've loved this series for so long, purely in the hopes that somehow, some way, Chase will come back. Okay I cannot. I cannot even function my emotions right now. I cannot even deal with anything right now. I just want to curl up in bed with the Raised by Wolves series and never wake up again.

I'm gonna start by talking about the first book. I read the first book under what I might call unusual circumstances but I had so many god feels that I just couldn't. I'm gonna start by talking about the first book. I read the first book under what I might call unusual circumstances but I had so many god feels that I just couldn't. The first book was so good and I just, wow. It was such a great book and it could be great as a standalone, but you're really just missing out if you stop reading there.

Second book was crazy as hell. It followed up perfectly from the first and you think the sequel would be crap, like most sequels are, but Trial by Fire really wasn't. It was hectic as shit and holy crap, you really think things can't get any better but then you read Taken by Storm aND HERE COMES THE FEELS TRAIN. CHOO CHOO, MOTHERFUCKER.

I RESERVED MY SCREAMING FOR THIS LAST PARAGRAPH BECAUSE HOLY JESUS CRAP GOD SHIT MY GOD I CAN'T EVEN DEAL. YOU THINK IT DOESN'T GET BETTER. YOU THINK IT JUST CARRIES ON AND GETS LESS INTERESTING - BUT NO. IT SLAPS YOU RIGHT IN THE FACE. IT ROUNDHOUSE KICKS YOU IN THE STOMACH AND RUNS YOU OVER WITH A STEAMROLLER. AND THEN PUSHES YOU OFF A CLIFF. AND IT LAUGHS. IT LAUGHS RIGHT. IN. YOUR. FACE.

YOU FEEL SO MUCH FOR THE CHARACTERS AND JENNIFER'S WAY OF WRITING REALLY MAKES YOU FEEL WHAT BRYN FEELS. SHE MAKES YOU FEEL LIKE YOU'RE THERE WHEN THEY FIGHT. THERE IN BRYN'S HEAD. SHE MAKES YOU EMOTIONALLY ATTACHED TO THE CHARACTERS, AND THEN SHE SITS BACK AND MAKES CRAZY SHIT HAPPEN TO THEM AND JENNIFER WATCHES YOU AS YOU LOSE YOUR MIND. LIKE I DID. I SCREAMED AND CRIED SO HARD IM NOT EVEN KIDDING.

I CAN'T EVEN EXPRESS WITH THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE HOW GOOD THIS BOOK/SERIES WAS. IT WAS BEYOND WORDS. BEYOND PERFECTION. I FEEL HORRIBLE BECAUSE FIVE STARS DOESN'T EVEN BEGIN TO RATE THIS BOOK. IT'S PRACTICALLY AN INSULT.

JESUS CHRIST JENNIFER YOU DESERVE AN AWARD. I AM TORN BETWEEN LABELING THIS BOOK LIFE CHANGING OR LIFE RUINING. BOTH. THIS SERIES IS DEFINITELY GOING INTO MY FAVORITES.

An emotional ride as we follow Bryn on the last stretch of her journey from adolescence into adulthood, and it was worth every turn, twist, dip and spin. Book 3 in the Raised by Wolves trilogy was quite a roller coaster ride. I almost didn't read it because book 2 didn't hold my attention well, but I'm happy to report that book 3 was much stronger. Non-stop action, characters I cared about again, and twists I didn't even come close to guessing. If there were a 4th book in the series, I'd probably be raving about this one. But there isn't. In Taken by Storm, the setting takes place a few months after Lucas challenges Bryn. Bryn is called to a council meeting where she is faced with a terrible realization that a rabid is on the lose, and in her mind lays the possibility this rabid maybe someone she is all too familiar with. We see Bryn working along side Jed, Caroline, Lake and Chase, quite the group wouldn’t you say? Especially since in the last book Caroline was trying to kill them, of course things have changed since then. Here we see her more independent and in charge as ever (like she isn’t already most of you might be saying), I loved it, though I have to say it was sad not to see much of Ali or Devon through the chapters, but the journey that Bryn and her friends were in for kept me locked into the pages. There was so much going on, each chapter never gave me a chance to take a break, I had to read on…..I needed more!

I loved the story plot, though at first I swore I had figured out what was going to happen, but of course it was all a trick, with a different plot hidden just beneath the surface! I was proven very wrong! As I read through the chapters what I had originally thought to be the plot was not, though some things I was able to guess from certain hints throughout the book. Take by Storm was put together in a way that captivates you from beginning until the very end.

This book will have you in suspense, it will have you smiling, laughing, astounded, sad and just overall enthralled by the overall experience of it all. And may I say, Jennifer Lynn Barnes, how dare you give me such a cliffhanger at the end! I need to know what happens next for Bryn, and what is Ali going to say! * yells “Noooooo it can’t just end like that!” for dramatic effect* I do hope Jennifer Lynn Barnes does return with another book in the Raise by Wolves series.

I give Taken by Storm 4.5 stars on account of the the structure, the writing and the words and phrases used.

But for the actual story itself? The conclusion? The last 42 pages?

I checked out this book from the online, digital portion of my local public library. Once I checked out the book, it was a simple, two-click procedure to download a Kindle edition of this book through Amazon, and I had a full three weeks to read it. This Kindle edition is well-edited, well-formatted, and well-designed.

Human "resilient" Bryn is alpha of a pack containing baby, child and teenage werewolves. They continue to face terrible danger from the evil werewolf packleader, Shay, as well as a new, horrible enemy, a rabid werewolf who is slaughtering innocents and might possibly be the female werewolf who left Bryn's pack at the end of Book 2.

The resolution of this story is exciting and quite surprising on a number of levels. Some may find at least one death very disappointing. I can't say more than that without creating a spoiler. I personally thought that death was inevitable given a story arc with one of the main characters across multiple books that has only one meaningful way to go.

I continue to find Bryn a very strong, positive heroine. I love the kids in her pack, especially Devon, who is a purebred werewolf (a were born of two werewolves, an extremely rare event in this book's cosmology, since only one or two female werewolves are born every hundred years). Dev is a gorgeous, six-foot-four hunk with a quirky sense of humor who also is a huge, powerful, meant-to-be-an-alpha werewolf. He is also, very significantly to this story, the much younger brother of the evil Shay. I also love the female werewolf, Lake, who adores guns, and is the same age as Bryn, both now 16, about a year older than the first book. I find the baby werewolves utterly adorable and quite funny.

This is an exciting, action-packed story, and the relationships are fascinatingly complex. This author just gets better and better.

I love this character. One of the few YA heroines I can stomach. Bryn does have her moments, but hey *Shrugs* WOLVES! SHIFTING WOLVES! I will say, I can't stand Cullum! I know certain things need to happen, but like with all mind readers, future seers, it grates on my nerves when they withhold and juggle futures.

I don't know where to start, this series has been such a emotional rollercoaster, Jennifer beautifully brought the characters to life, Devons and Bryns lighthearted friendship came accross brilliantly, Callums powerfullness and love for Bryn showed without Jennifer ever having to write it out in black and white.

This last book was everything, Raised by Wolves and Trial by Fire was leading to, Bryns journey growing up was really something.

Every single one has captivated me...her writing style is amazing and she has more talent than most!! So, it pains me to only give it one star...because she is such an amazing author...! But I just can't bring myself to say "it was ok".

Human, though raised by werewolves, Bryn is the alpha of her own Cedar Ridge pack. For reasons detailed in the first two books of this series (Raised by Wolves and Trial by Fire) Bryn's pack is unusual because it contains eight females. Female werewolves are an incredibly small minority of all werewolves. The facts that Bryn is female and human and has so many females in her pack make her a target of werewolf politics.

Excellent addition.

This book settled into some fast pace action, with twists that I did not see coming at all.

The death? I truly did not expect the author to throw that in, but honestly, I think it made the reality of her world so much more solid. Bryn's life isn't some fairy tail, so why do people keep expecting that?

First off, the storyline in this book completely changed how I viewed this series. You know that there is always that little thing that keeps you from completely loving the series. That one character that you find flat, or dull. Unattached. Everytime you come across their part in the story you just skim through those pages just to get to the characters that you love. That character was Chase.

I actually don't hate Chase. I don't want him gone, but he was the one thing that bored me throughtout the series. Now at the very end, we have him killed off. I was sad that he died, but I felt it was necessary. Because he was the main love interest, and I always, always wanted Bryn to be with someone else, another one else. Dev? Callum? Even Archer?

Now onto Bryn, I have always like the type of main charcter she is. Strong. Witty inner thoughts. Willing to do anything for the one's she loves. And in each book I felt her becoming more and more of an alpha. I only wish that we could find out if she turned into a werwolf at the end. I want to know if she lives!

Dev: I enjoy his personality. Loved that he always has Bryn's back when she needs it. Besides, I like the ending where he kills his own brother, and gets to lead his own pack. :) I also like that Bryn and him are allies, even being alphas of different packs. Plus, in this book I saw how much he cares for Bryn. But I can't tell if it's romance or just i love my best friend forever thing. Would like to know if it was going to change in the future between the two of them.

Lake: Enjoyed the guns. lol. Also it was cool how her dead twin comes back. Plus I really got to see how hard it was for her to be a female were. I wouldn't want to have to deal with Shay trying to always get me.

Maddy: She annoyed me in that last one for liking that loser, Lucas. But she made a turn around when she came back to Bryn at the end, so now I don't really dislike her anymore. Besides, I like her baby. Rose seems sweet.

Callum: Always has been my favorite character besides, Bryn, of course. Everytime he comes into a scene I can't put the book down. I can never exactly figure out what he's going to do in the story. I have always found him to have more than just a mentor relationship with Bryn. For some reason I feel like he loves her. Everything he does is to keep her alive, not anyone else. Plus I feel chemisty between the two. Well, before Bryn ends up hating him for something that happens at the end. :/

All in all, this book changed what I felt about the last two. I bought the first one, and loved it! But then I didn't get the second one cause I didn't really care for Chase. When I saw that the third one came out, I went out and got the last two. After reading this one, I'm glad I have the whole series. I only wish we knew what became of Bryn.....(less)

Oh My…GOD. Where to start with this review, as most know I have been in love with this series from the first book, I loved Bryn’s feisty attitude and Devon’s personality, and of course how could I not mention Lake, she may not be physically strong in comparison to the other werewolves but she is fast and loves her guns. Jennifer Lynn Barnes has out done herself in this book.

Jennifer Lynn Barnes has out done herself in this book.

In Taken by Storm, the setting takes place a few months after Lucas challenges Bryn. Bryn is called to a council meeting where she is faced with a terrible realization that a rabid is on the lose, and in her mind realizes the possibility that this rabid maybe someone she is all too familiar with. We see Bryn working along side Jed, Caroline, Lake and Chase, quite the group wouldn’t you say? Especially since in the last book Caroline was trying to kill them, of course things have changed since then. Here we see her more independent and in charge as ever (like she isn’t already most of you might be saying), I loved it, though I have to say it was sad not to see much of Ali or Devon through the chapters, but the journey that Bryn and her friends were in for kept me locked into the pages. There was so much going on, each chapter never gave me a chance to take a break, I had to read on…..I needed more!

I loved the story plot, though at first I swore I had figured out what was going to happen, but of course it was all a trick, with a different plot hidden just beneath the surface! I was proven very wrong! As I read through the chapters what I had originally thought to be the plot was not, though some things I was able to guess from certain hints throughout the book. Take by Storm was put together in a way that captivates you from beginning until the very end.

This book will have you in suspense, it will have you smiling, laughing, astounded, sad and just overall enthralled by the overall experience of it all. And may I say, Jennifer Lynn Barnes, how dare you give me such a cliffhanger at the end! I need to know what happens next for Bryn, and what is Ali going to say! * yells “Noooooo it can’t just end like that!” for dramatic effect* I do hope Jennifer Lynn Barnes does return with another book in the Raise by Wolves series. 5 out of 5 bats!

I wish I could post a review without giving stars. Sometimes it’s hard to separate my reaction to a book from the actual quality of a book. Five stars for writing quality. 2 stars for likeability. The writing was tight, extremely fast paced. The conflict was introduced almost immediately. I think the author beautifully paints pictures with words. I also wish I hadn’t read the book. First, I could have put the book down any time in the first 200 pages and not felt bad if I didn't get back to it....more

This is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!
