Bryn knows first-hand that being the alpha of a werewolf pack means making hard decisions, and that being human makes things a thousand times worse. She's prepared to give up her humanity, but the wolf who promised to Change her is waiting - though for what, Bryn doesn't know. Still human, she must take her place in the werewolf Senate, the precarious democracy that rules...more

Ahh! The cover has been revealed!

AND IT IS GORGEOUS.

The first is still my favorite, but this cover is so much better than the second.

After I Finished

Excuse me, I'm having an emotional breakdown.

Seriously, Jennifer, WHAT THE FUCK.

I can't believe it. I can't even write a review of this book because my emotions are colliding in a chemical reaction of rage, anger, sadness and depression.

I wasn´t expecting much of the book, but it surprised me. Out of the 3 books, I think this one is the best in the series so far.

Everything starts when Shay calls a Senate meeting because there´s a new Rabid on the loose, but what really matters is that the Rabid is a female. So of course everyone asks Bryn if any of her females are missing and that where everything gets tricky...

Bryn accepted Maddie leaving at the end of book 2, and she fears she may be the Rabid. She´s set on finding her in the...more

Oh my Gosh .......................Okay i am routing for Devon cause he is just the better choice he took a bullet for chase !!!! and i secretly think he is in love with Bryn or really likes her hoping !! but i sorry but chase we don't know alot about him and idk i have a eird feeling about him ... besides dev is caring and is the one that understands that he can't just leave the pack and go run away or should i say just protect bryn but that is very romantic I Serously trust dev more hope he and...more

Is there going to be another book to this series? Because this checked firmly into Heartbreak Hotel and I'm going to be very sad if that's what we're ending on. :( Fantastic book but geez. You want to stomp all over Bryn some more Barnes? Sure you don't need one last kick in? 4 stars

Full review to come in June (hopefully)

All I have to say is this better not be the last book. That ending is great for a cliff hanger-ish type but not for an ending of a series.

(view spoiler)[Am I the only one that has been rooting for a Callum/Bryn pairing since the beginning. He loves her. It's not just the 'I kind of raised you' type love...I truly believe he loves her. She can't hate him. Honestly, I am glad Chase is gone. (Though I did cry when he died) But I saw it coming. And he was borin...more

Okay I cannot. I cannot even function my emotions right now. I cannot even deal with anything right now. I just want to curl up in bed with the Raised by Wolves series and never wake up again.

I'm gonna start by talking about the first book. I read the first book under what I might call unusual circumstances but I had so many god feels that I just couldn't. The first book was so good and I just, wow. It was such a great book and it could be great as a standalone, but you're really just missing o...more

An emotional ride as we follow Bryn on the last stretch of her journey from adolescence into adulthood, and it was worth every turn, twist, dip and spin. Barnes doesn't disappoint with this final installation of the "Raised by Wolves" trilogy, and in fact, leaves you burning for more novels to continue on in this amazing secret society she has created. Bryn's relationships are tried and tested, her abilities as a female alpha pushed to the limits as Callan forces her to endure just one last less...more

Book 3 in the Raised by Wolves trilogy was quite a roller coaster ride. I almost didn't read it because book 2 didn't hold my attention well, but I'm happy to report that book 3 was much stronger. Non-stop action, characters I cared about again, and twists I didn't even come close to guessing. If there were a 4th book in the series, I'd probably be raving about this one. But there isn't. This is it. And to end the trilogy where it ended? No...just no.

Since I wrote the review last night, I've bee...more

REVIEW:
Oh My…GOD. Where to start with this review, as most know I have been in love with this series from the first book, I loved Bryn’s feisty attitude and Devon’s personality, and of course how could I not mention Lake, she may not be physically strong in comparison to the other werewolves but she is fast and loves her guns. Jennifer Lynn Barnes has out done herself in this book.

In Taken by Storm, the setting takes place a few months after Lucas challenges Bryn. Bryn is called to a council mee...more

Oh. My. God.

I give Taken by Storm 4.5 stars on account of the the structure, the writing and the words and phrases used.

But for the actual story itself? The conclusion? The last 42 pages?

ONE STAR! AT MOST!

Are you kidding me Jennifer? Did you really just ruin this series for me?!?

Not only did you kill Chase, Bryn's one true love and mate, but throughout the book their was barely any mention of him! He spoke at the maximum of ten times with the maximum of two god damn words! Then you t...more

Review of the Kindle edition of the exciting third book in a terrific YA urban-fantasy series

I checked out this book from the online, digital portion of my local public library. Once I checked out the book, it was a simple, two-click procedure to download a Kindle edition of this book through Amazon, and I had a full three weeks to read it. This Kindle edition is well-edited, well-formatted, and well-designed.

Human "resilient" Bryn is alpha of a pack containing baby, child and teenage werewolves...more

I love this character. One of the few YA heroines I can stomach. Bryn does have her moments, but hey *Shrugs* WOLVES! SHIFTING WOLVES! I will say, I can't stand Cullum! I know certain things need to happen, but like with all mind readers, future seers, it grates on my nerves when they withhold and juggle futures.

So not a surprise Shay is up to his old tricks again. What did surprise me, and I hate that it did, it the existence of Shadows. It NEVRE bodes well to include creatures such as these,...more

I don't know where to start, this series has been such a emotional rollercoaster, Jennifer beautifully brought the characters to life, Devons and Bryns lighthearted friendship came accross brilliantly, Callums powerfullness and love for Bryn showed without Jennifer ever having to write it out in black and white.

This last book was everything, Raised by Wolves and Trial by Fire was leading to, Bryns journey growing up was really something.

I love Devon and I couldn't even bring myself to resent hi...more

If i could of given this book more than 5 stars i would of.

Cover - I like it, I think though that if this really is the last book that she should of been facing forward.
Favorite Line - “Two psychics, two werewolves, and a psychic human alpha walk up to a crime scene...”
Favorite Character - Bryn/Chase Tie

This book was surprise after surprise, action & then more action. Twists & turns throughout. It was fast paced & it was extremely emotional. I loved this book, i have loved the ent...more

Human, though raised by werewolves, Bryn is the alpha of her own Cedar Ridge pack. For reasons detailed in the first two books of this series (Raised by Wolves and Trial by Fire) Bryn's pack is unusual because it contains eight females. Female werewolves are an incredibly small minority of all werewolves. The facts that Bryn is female and human and has so many females in her pack make her a target of werewolf politics.

Bryn's major rival is Shay, the alpha of the Snake Bend pack. He has been plot...more

17 year old Bryn has settled into a relatively calm period as the human alpha of a werewolf pack. She is trying to tame her gift of Resilience when she is summoned to a senate meeting to discuss the discovery of a new potential Rabid. All signs point to the Rabid being Maddy who left Bryn's pack after Lucas was killed by Bryn in a challenge for supremacy. When the senate allows anyone to go after Maddy, Bryn knows that it is her responsibility. Taking only the love of her life Chase and top fema...more

I wish I could post a review without giving stars. Sometimes it’s hard to separate my reaction to a book from the actual quality of a book. Five stars for writing quality. 2 stars for likeability. The writing was tight, extremely fast paced. The conflict was introduced almost immediately. I think the author beautifully paints pictures with words. I also wish I hadn’t read the book. First, I could have put the book down any time in the first 200 pages and not felt bad if I didn't get back to it....more

This is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was thinking about a change and I wrote a small chapter on the unconscious part of her changing (if it happens). It goes like this:

I woke up by Dead Man's Creek again. This was becoming unconscious routine, I thought, looking around.
Why am I here?
I couldn't remember being knocked out.

I started worrying. What was going on while I was unconscious? I reached out to Chase desper...more
