The title of the book kept me both interested in, and away from, this book for many years! Overall, I found the characters interesting, the style of using prose & play innovative and interesting, and wonder how much of the history is accurate (what is fiction? what is not?). I thoroughly enjoyed the second half of the book where the conflict between art and politics comes to the forefront but I was hoping for a more climactic ending.
