This collection of short stories was a delight! Each story had a piece at the end by Alison as to how it came about…. fictional stories taken from her time in Singapore and her home of Australia. The second part of the book (in 2 parts) has a touch of romance in the stories. The novel is only 56 pages long, so a nice, quick read, but a thoroughly enjoyable one.

Alison Stuart is a master of her game, with the ability to write full length novels as well as short stories to keep the reader entertain
Alison is a great writer, don't let this 3 star review put you off her work.

The reasoning behind this rating is simple. I prefer her longer works because it allows her to further develop her characters, story and in most cases fully tug on my heart strings too.

The short stories in this book were tiny glimpses into what, I am sure, would have been brilliant novels if Alison were to continue them. As they stand, however, I felt like you were getting a teaser, but alas there was nothing to follow
