Bunny can’t sleep for “There’s too much dark at night.” He and Papa go off on a search for night-light and find many things that light up the night; the moon, stars, fireflies, boat lights, house lights, porch lights, streetlights abound in the woods and in cozy Bunny Town, but something is not quite right with each of these. One is too bright, another too busy, yet another too twinkly. Papa finally suggests they ask Mama, who happens to have packed away her own nightlight from her childhood. It...more
PB 42: I really liked this story because I think a lot of children can relate to the idea of being afraid of the dark. As a child, I needed a night-light that comforted me, and I feel as though I would have loved to hear this story when I was younger. I was drawn to this story because of the happy, playful images of the bunnies that come to life on the pages as they are on the quest for the perfect night-light. I think it was clever that they introduced different sources of light that the bunnie...more
How to read a glow-in-the dark picture book in your well-lit cubicle...
Read a page aloud quietly, so as not to disturb your cube neighbors.
Hold open book under desk, lean down to see the glowing effects.
Hope none of your coworkers pop-in to ask a question, as this position may appear suspicious (at best) or lewd (at worst).
Read next page aloud even more quietly, as your neighbors already think you're some sort of children's book extremist.

A sweet little bedtime story is combined with touch-and-feel portions of the illustrations. These parts are glow-in-the-dark which make for a bit of awkward reading. Either going back-and-forth from light to read and dark to see or reading the whole thing first and then turning off the lights to seek out the glowing bits. A fun idea, just a little different to make it work.

Sweet illustrations highlight pages that actually glow in the dark. A good book for bedtime.
