Between Yesterday and Tomorrow is a hauntingly beautiful story about the journey through life’s challenges one young woman makes. Marlien experiences horrendous trials in dealing with the circumstances of her birth, her relationship with her fiancé and his disappearance, and her heritage. Her mother abandoned her shortly after birth, her fiancé disappeared and the grandmother who wanted nothing to do with her, leaves her the family estate. As she struggles with the challenge of finding out what...more

The really great thing about this book is the spot-on portrayal of the South of France, the villages, the people, the obsession with the right baguette, the racism against gypsies and fear of anyone from outside the village... Marlien leaves South Africa for France when she inherits her grandmothers house. Marlien has never had any relationship with her family and wants to find out why. Thru twists and turns you discover Marlien has no idea what happened to her fiancee from over 8 years ago and is reluctant to move on. Jean falls in love with Marlien and has other plans. Excellent story that leads you thru new love and heartbreaking goodbyes. Have tissues nearby. WaAR
