My aunt read this book last year to help her deal with the death of her son, my cousin, in Iraq. Since then it has been making the rounds in my family and my mom just passed it on to me. There are few conversations about my cousin that do not involve tears, but when my aunt, my mother and I discussed this book, there were only tears of joy. This book and the information it contains has been a comfort to us, as i'm sure it is to anyone who has lost someone dear to them. It is hard not to be a lit...more

This book doesn't quite live up to the title. It does provide a nice philosophy for those people who have lost loved ones, and I believe that it would be nice to believe that Dead People watch you shower.

While reading the book, I did try one of the suggestions for talking to dead people. I put the book down, and called to my Grandma, who died 8 years ago. Right at that moment, the door to our bathroom slammed shut. My daughter had gotten out of bed to use the bathroom.

Quick skim. It's in the form of a question per page, and many of the questions I wasn't interested in at this point. But the one I liked:
Q: Can dead people speak to us in our dreams?
A: For some reason, this seems to confuse people. There are two different things: dreams and visits. Both happen when we are sleeping, but a dream is usually convoluted and often has a psychological root. Generally, a dream needs to be interpreted before we can get any message from it. A visit is very str...more

Do Dead People Watch You Shower? and the answer is: Yes they do! I feel like I've been on a bit of a spiritual ride lately, having also finished The Ghosts Among Us; Van Praagh a few days ago. I enjoyed both of these books, but this one was much more fun to read.

The author, Concetta Bertoldi, has seen and talked to dead people since she was child. She lives in New Jersey and has a private practice which has a 2-year wait for a reading. Some of her clients include Britain's Royal fami...more

I picked up this book at the library after hearing about it when it was featured on MSN. Ever since I read those teen books set in the spiritualist town of Lily Dale, NY, I think my reading list has managed to include more books like that, but that's okay.

I don't know how much of this book I completely, 100% believe. I think it's certainly possible - even plausible - that some people have an ability to hear messages or see future events; it happens to me sometimes. But with that s...more

When I saw this book at the B and N, it was like I was a kid in a candy store because I HAVE always wanted to learn about mediums (legit mediums, that is). Concetta Bertoldi is super down-to-earth and matter-of-fact (and funny!), and personally I believe that she's the real deal. For the most part, I wasn't creeped out by any of the information because she doesn't deal with anything dark, only the spirits of loved ones who have died and want to deliver happy messages to their families who are ...more

A good book......but I'm not a fan of the question/answer format. Also, the author is clearly not a writer, but I did enjoy reading about what she does. I read this book in preparation to see Concetta at a group event, so when I went, I felt like I knew her a little bit, which was neat.

Yes, I have always been interested in the Afterlife or The Other Side, whichever term you prefer. The author, a medium and pychic, uses humor and wit to answer questions from people about the other side. It is interesting but not as comforting as other books I've perused.

A highly entertaining look into the afterlife, this book gives solid suggestions as to what happens once someone passes and how we should relate to them.

I hate skimming books because I feel like that's cheating, but I couldn't help myself with this one.

In summary: Yes, dead people watch you shower and yes, they know what you like to do in bed, but they look at it the same way as living people look at animals mating: It's funny, but it's natural.

THAT'S comforting. :-P

This book also "answered" some interesting questions about reincarnation, but I had to take it all with a grain of salt, obviously.

This book is really fascinating. The question-answer form makes for quick reading. Concetta Bertoldi comes across as a very real person answering questions about what life as a medium is like for her. Take it or leave it; she's not trying to convince anyone, just answers as best she can. She also answers with a fun streak of humor. She's just one of us, only she senses spirits and communicates with the dead. No biggee.

I saw an article on this book with excerpts and thought it sounded credible, so picked it up. I thought it was fascinating information from a source I personally believed was telling the truth. Regardless, what was important was that it gave me comfort and hope, particularly for my now deceased father. I recommend this book to anyone with a slight curiosity in life after death.

If you are interested in the metaphysical or just feeling a little down in the dumps on life because you were FATED to it, this is a good read for you.

I really enjoyed Bertoldi's accounts of her experience as a medium and all the spot-light life questions she answers that everyone asks all the time but never get a straight answer to.

I totally, love, love, loved this book. I am a bit of a skeptic, but it helped anyway to feel better about death, dying and my dearly departed family & friends. I really hope that what she says about the after-life is true. So comforting. I would LOVE to meet this woman some day and have her give me a reading.

This was a quick, humorous read and I really enjoyed it. (280 pages and I read it in one day. Very unusual for me!) Of course, you have to be interested in the subject matter. Do I agree with everything she said? No, but it was much easier to consider coming from Concetta--maybe because of the way she wrote?

This was a fun book. After my grandfather died this summer, almost immediately I became hyper-sensitive about my most private moments, wondering if he could see me from the other side. Then I found this book, as if it was written for me. It challenged my thinking and fed my spiritual curiosity.
