2.5 stars. :-( I'm bummed! I wanted better for Logan and Amy's story. They were life long friends, and I normally love a friends to lover storyline, but I didn't buy this romance. It was sudden, confusing, and not all that romantic of a story.

After a drunken kiss between these two, Logan and Amy suddenly start to develop romantic feelings after years of being just friends. Unfortunately half the story is of them analyzing and fretting over their changing feelings. (I had hoped for some unrequit

Well, Toni Blake has done it again. Much like Robyn Carr and her tremendously popular, down-home Virgin River series, Toni Blake has captured the mood of small town (Destiny, Ohio) life with her vivid characterizations, natural dialogue, and picturesque setting. Reading a Destiny novel is like slipping into a pair of your favorite worn jeans after a stressful day--very comforting and relaxing. And while this story may not be my favorite of the whole series as far as wringing the emotion out of m ...more

3 stars – Contemporary Romance

I’m a big fan of Toni Blake’s Destiny series and friends to lovers storylines, so I was really looking forward to Amy and Logan’s book. And while I enjoyed the comfy familiarity of once again visiting small town Destiny, Ohio and spending time with its endearing characters, I was disappointed with the romance this time around.

The H/h pairing of town good girl and resident matchmaker, Amy, and her hunky firefighter lifelong best friend, Logan, had potential for a gr

I have mixed feelings about this one. I received it from a GRs friend who tossed it into the package with something else she was mailing me. I love stories of small town lovin’ and upon cracking the book, couldn’t put it down… until later. Then I could, as it became a bit repetitive. The main characters, which I liked at the beginning, kept harping on the same issues. This is what we all do with the people we love, but still. And Amy and Logan have certainly loved each other since th

Logan Whitaker
Willow Springs is the fifth book in Toni Blake’s Destiny series, and one emotional story. I’ve never shed so many tears while reading any book as I did with this one, and it’s not even story of hardship, illness or death. This is a tale of “first love” and all the pain, heartache, hope and joy that comes with it, even when that love doesn’t find you until you’re 30 years old.

2 Awkward Stars! What was this?? I'm still scratching my head!

I finally found the time to continue this series and I was so disappointed with Amy and Logan's book. There was a point when I seriously considered putting it aside. I did continue, not because of Amy and Logan, but I was hoping to find out about the other characters in the series.

Amy was a pain-in-the-ass, and OMG... wah wah wah...what a Debbie Downer! Logan...jeez, I don't even know what to make of him. Okay, I understand that he w

As much as I wanted to love this book, it ended up falling flat for me. I was sooooo looking forward to Amy and Logan's story. I knew there'd be awkward moments, but I didn't anticipate Logan ripping Amy's heart out with his indecision and constant wavering, not to mention taking an open interest in another woman while poor Amy looked on. After reading and loving the rest of the series, this just wasn't the story I wanted for either Amy or Logan.

Really a 3.5 rating. I had higher hopes for this book because there was mention of Amy and Logan in previous books in the series. I do love me a friends to lover story but this one falls short. Amy is absolutely adorable in this book. I love her transformation from a shy woman to a woman who goes after what she wants. However, I was not impressed by Logan. Yes, he cares for her but his feelings appeared lukewarm all throughout the book. He would do something stupid in one moment and then try to ...more

2.5 stars. *sigh* This book just did not work for me on so many levels. I'm just really disappointed. Logan was an unlikable character almost the entire book. I couldn't figure out what any grown woman would see in him. He's like a child who's distracted constantly by something shiny. Never stops to think about anyone but himself and then is shocked when this bothers other people. He's like a frat boy or a teenager and, personally, I don't want to read a sexy romance about a juvenile.

I guess I'm in the minority that didn't particularly enjoy this book. It wasn't a bad book, but it just didn't really work for me.

It's no secret that I'm a huge Jane Austen fan. And the character of Amy in Toni Blake's Destiny series with her penchant for Austen, and her cat named Mr. Knightly, is one whose HEA I've been waiting impatiently for. Leave it to TB to give me that HEA with a fun and sexy modern re-working of Jane Austen's Emma wherein Amy plays Emma to her BFF Logan Whitaker's Mr. Knightly. There are so many elements here to love. Logan is supersexy if a bit frustrating--not unlike Mr. Knightly. Amy is sweet, i ...more

ARC Review

When I got the chance to review Willow Springs, by Toni Blake I was beyond excited! If you are like me, you have been waiting to see what was going to happen between Logan and Amy for a while. Ms. Blake did not disappoint with this book.

Amy and Logan have been friends their whole lives and up until a tragedy occured for Logan, neither one ever thought of the other in a romantic way. Now it’s the only thing that is on Amy’s mind and the new emotion

Shy Amy Bright is the town matchmaker and has helped her friends on their path to romance, but at 34 years old it seems like it is a case of "Always the bridesmaid, never the bride". But one drunken kiss with her best friend Logan Whitaker changes everything and Amy can't stop thinking about him in a new, and thrilling way, could it be the man she is destined to love is also her best friend?

This is the first book I have read of Toni Blake's and I really enjoyed it! Although this is the

2.5 I have loved this series, LOVED it.... but this one really fell flat for me. First of all I just didn't "Get" Logan as the romantic leading man. He reminded me an awful lot of my high school boyfriend.... but Logan is a grownup. I suppose I have to be honest and admit that the way he kept calling her "honey" grated on my very last nerve too. For some reason a man calling a woman honey just isn't sexy to me. At.All. The whole idea of them having been best friends their entire lives was intrig ...more

Wow, I can't believe I was thrown straight back into the little country town of Destiny Falls. And it felt so right, as it does every time I read a Destiny novel. I'm never let down and I wasn't with this one either.

This time we are sharing the story of Amy, owner of Under The Covers book store, renowned cat lover and town match maker. Amy has watched everyone in town find and fall in love, and slowly but surly all marry off until now it seems that she is the last one left. But she doesn't mind,

Over all I liked it (but I tend to like everything I read because it takes me away :) ). I liked catching up with the prior characters...Mike and Lucky ;). I really didn't care about reading Amy's story prior to the book...but then learning how she was always the "little sister" type ...I was that person growing up so I read it. There was a lack of Logan POV and that was a little odd, right? He was the "hero" afterall. I did not like "girl from the past" at all and I didn't feel badly that Amy h ...more

It was a sweet story between two people who love each other. It's not so easy to build something with somebody you've cared for your life, or so it seems in this book. Logan's behavior was very frustrating. As for Amy, she was 100% real and so easy to care for as a character. The book didn't have the depth of Mike and Rachel's story but enjoyable anyway.

I have read just about everything Toni Blake has written as herself and as Lacey Alexander...and loved it all until Willow Springs. The heroine is absolutely pathetic - she has no life, no personality - and the idea that she is going to snag the hot guy is totally unrealistic. I couldn't make it past 80 pages.
Tia
I thought the novel was nicely thought out, it dealt with big problems that could easily happen in the real world. I was happy when I finally reached the ending, however I wanted the heroine to turn out pregnant but perhaps they will mention her in the next novel.
Cheryl
Logan drove me nuts! I thought Amy deserved more wooing. Disappointed in this book, but gave it three stars because I still love the series.
Elizabeth (Liz)
Not as good as some of her others, but I still managed to read the whole thing:)

I liked the latest book in the Destiny Spring series. It was good to catch up with everyone and see Rachel and Tessa marry Mike and Lucky.

Anna Romo’s sudden appearance back in Destiny was a huge shock for everyone. I was so happy for the Romo family, especially Mike who has struggled with his guilt ever since she was abducted. I loved that she was back in time for Mike’s wedding, but she got a lot of “face time” in this books. I would have preferred if she had been the heroine and receiving so

I am a huge fan of the friends to lovers trope. I love watching friends see each other with new eyes. I had high hopes for Willow Springs because I am such a fan of the friends to lovers storyline, but the story and the characters were a disappointment.

I haven't read the previous books in the Destiny series so I don't know if I had a problem with the story because I wasn't invested in the characters and their HEA. Amy is known as the town matchmaker. She is great at finding love for eve

I have read and thoroughly enjoyed every single other book in this series. So, when I heard Amy was finally going to 'get her man' so to speak I was thrilled. I'm saying this so that you understand... I honestly went in with an open mind expecting and even wanting to love this book as much as the others. Sadly, this book was a BIG letdown. It was like Blake has taken the two characters that I have grown to love over the rest of the series, and changed their characters into unlikable people that ...more

This book ran flat for me. A lot of that is because Amy's actions seemed very junior high. I get that she didn't have much experience with men, but not being able to talk to Logan and having to resort to notes seemed preposterous to me. For crying out loud, she didn't even know what to write, Tessa had to direct her in the more "dirty" things and those weren't dirty at all. I also was annoyed with Logan for a good portion of the book. He was flat out rude and not caring that his actions hurt Amy ...more

Boring. I had really been looking forward to this book, and then blah. That is how I felt. The romance between the two cats in the book was steamier than between Amy and Logan. I thought Amy should have been paired with Duke. The two scenes they had together seemed full of potential sexual tension. No, we get the world's most boring couple. It was as if once Logan kissed Amy she thought she loved him. The whole thirty years you were friends you never thought about kissing him? Even Harry and Sal ...more

Toni Blake's love of writing began when she won an essay contest in the fifth grade.
