Read in July, 2009
A fairly standard parenting book - from infancy to five years, but specifically focused on raising African American children. In addition to many of the standard parenting book sections on stages of infant development, nutrition, etc., it also intersperses reflections on racial identity and how to discuss racism with your child. Great resource to have on the bookshelf.
