2 1/2 to 3 stars

I'd give 5 stars to the plot and ending of this book and 2 stars for the writing prose.

The plot was creative, fascinating, and unique and the ending was extremely clever. I'm still blown away by the unexpected ending that I did not see coming. However, the overall writing prose left much to be desired.

The writing felt discombobulated (which might have been intended) and amateurish in its verbose paragraphing and abrupt shifting of character point of view. At times it felt impossi...more

Doctor Lanie O'Keefe has been dreaming of the old Victorian house and it's mysterious whiskey eyed occupant since she can remember. So compelling the draw, she buys the place and sets about renovations hoping to turn the carriage house into a medical clinic. Enter Doctor Jason Bowen, a man murdered over a century before under this very roof. His ability to follow the raven haired beauty that now occupies his house both by day and through her nightly dreams is not enough. Can he continue to touch...more

What a lovely story! A young girl falls in love with a house and grows up to buy it. Haven't you ever seen a building that just captured your imagination and your heart? The whole town knows the old mansion is haunted, but Lanie O'Keefe is about to find out for sure. Jason Bowen has watched the town grow around his house for 120 years -- all the years he'd been dead. Dead since just after the Civil War.

Jason knew he'd been murdered by his wife and her evil friends but had no memory of how the d...more

Dreamscape is one of those books that grabs you on the first page and won’t let go. Lanie, the heroine is a woman with a mission. Jason, the ghost, has remained in his house, lonely and bitter over his murder one-hundred-twenty years ago. But now a beautiful new owner has taken possession of the house and of his heart and s...more

Every once in a while you read a book that is so well written and the story so real that when you finished reading it, you almost want to cry because the story is over. This book is one of those. It seamlessly combines it all, history, romance, mystery and sensuality. This was a book I simply could not put down! The main characters, Lanie and Jason came alive on the pages and Rose Anderson wove them together in a way that made perfect sense in the end. Without a doubt, this was one one the BEST...more

This book is amazing. The story is fast, the emotion as high as the suspense. The ending will be completely unexpected. I recommend all of this author's books. Especially Dreamscape.

I really liked this book...up until the end. Not giving anyhthing away, but I was pretty annoyed with the ending. I really thought she could have been more creative with it.

Rose Anderson - Love waits in unexpected places
I love descriptive words and choose them as carefully as an artist might choose a color. My active imagination compels me to write everything from children’s stories to historical nonfiction. As a persnickety leisure reader, I especially enjoy novels that feel like they were written just for me. It's hard to explain, but if you've ever read one of tho...more
