In the author’s note to buyers at the beginning of Lux the author explains that the novel is going to be “episodic”. I’m really glad they did. Because of this I knew the ending was going to be a cliffie. Having that knowledge going in made it a lot less annoying when the cliffie happened. (I personally have issues with cliffies sometimes they just get old.)
However this is not a review of cliffies, this is a review of Lux 1.1: Seeds, so let me get back to that.
I have to say this is quite an awe...more

First thoughts:

I didn't know anything about this book before reading it, I hadn't heard about it from anyone but when I saw it on Amazon I thought it sounded interesting and gave it a shot. And boy was this a action packed book filled with dark and sinister images. The story was interesting in itself, it provided a since of doom and darkness, definately not a fluff book and for those who enjoy romance, this is not the book for you. The plot is complicated and fast, there isn't any time really to...more

A fast multiple threaded discovery story, where a number of individuals find out that everything they thought they knew about their past was wrong, was fake, and that due to a special gene they have special capabilities and powers. This story is about their discoveries, how they deal with that and where they find themselves in a world that uglier than they ever imagined.

I was a little concerned that in one thread, it seemed all the kids were uber-kids, already far and beyond anything normal, tha...more

Lux 1.1 Seeds is a fast paced read, with compelling cliff hanger sequences that will embed within you a deep itch for the next book, and the next, and the next, each promised to be released on the average of 3 weeks apart from the first installment.(August 23rd, 2011)

In Seeds, the first book in the Lux episodic novel, Jalex immediately defines her characters, like steel teeth, zippering you up into their plight. Word by word, she delicately plants and nourishes this tale with subtle duplicitous...more

Lux 1.1 Seeds is a kick-butt opening sequence. It's the first in a series of more of the same. I enjoyed it overall. The characters were believable and Hansen does a fantastic job of forming these characters in a short amount of space.
The pace is breakneck speed, the teenagers are accurate, and it doesn't stop there. If you like nonstop action and a quick, easy read--this is for you.
There's supposed to be another one...? I should find it.

II feel like I have read an awesome prelude to a great story.
The only problem is that it felt like the book was mostly just character introduction, and not much action.
I will look forward to reading more of the series, I just hope there is more going on in those books.

An incredible start to a series which I hope will go on for a while. It is a quick read, but well worth the time you put into it.

This continuing story has so far not failed to deliver. After reading the first two parts, I am totally hooked and can't wait for the third instalment. This book is totally movie material, our even possibly a tv series! That would be awesome...

Not a bad book, but it didn't draw me in.

A great opening to a very compelling idea and story. Slam dunk into a megalomaniacal post-apocalyptic tale. If the rest of the serial tale is as rewarding as the intro it will be an outstanding addition to the genre
