The art was not my style, and neither was the story. Winter is personified as a child of the distant, sort of workaholic Father Time. Huh? The one illustration I really dug was the last page, where the child Winter is covered with a blanket of snow, sleeping next to the awakening child Spring, a cute little girl covered in a blanket of bright green grass.

We loved this book. Beautiful illustration, rhyming verse that captivated my toddler who often has trouble sitting through books with lots of words on the pate.

We love Lynn Plourde's (a Maine author) stories about the seasons. Especially the made up words like "snizzes & rizzle"

This is another book in the series and represents Winter. I loved the way this book brought a masculine aspect to the intertwining tales. While Mother Nature rests, Father time and Winter take over. A story of love between a father and his son.
Exceptional artistry - a true celebration of Nature in Winter.
