I loved this it was love at first sight for Mark and Lindsey but they are both to stubborn to admit their feelings. They start working together on a case with similarities to a case that has haunted Lindsey for years. Their working relationship soon turns to scorching hot passion but they still fight it's a love/hate relationship. Who is the killer? Who is after Lindsey?

I could not put it down I wanted to know who the killer was there where a few suspects (I was correct) what was going to happen

I have to say, I am really annoyed by heroines that are TOO headstrong/stubborn (meaning they take a lot of unnecessary dangerous risks just because they don't like being told not to), but because of Lindsey's background, I find it much more credible and less annoying. Or maybe that's just a sign of a well written character. Either way, having a high-powered attorney for a father, being a trained lawyer herself, and being an FBI agent makes her a prime candidate for being headstrong and stubborn ...more

The prequel to the Tall, Dark, and Deadly romance series based in Manhattan.

My Take
Yawn. Oops, sorry...didn't mean to yawn in your face. It was just so hard to stay awake through this. It started out well and quickly degenerated into manufactured tension and stupid drama.

What? Reeves has to take over the law firm because...why? None of the reasons she poses are any different from why she shouldn't take it over? He abandoned her dad. An-n-d, what did she do? What obligation does the law firm have

Why did I read the entire book even though I was bored and felt I had already wasted my time and money after two pages? I finish what I start with the hope it gets better. Luckily this can be read in a couple hours - if even that. If you skip through all the high school drama between the two main characters, it's actually only about a 20 page book. Yeah.

Romantic thriller? Um... okay.

The main characters:

Mark - Thinks he can have any woman he wants because he's just the most incredible Adonis to w

Secrets Exposed is the prelude to Tall, Dark, and Deadly series. Umm, WOW. That’s what I thought of this book. This is the first book I’ve read by Lisa Renee Jones, and I think it’s safe to say I plan to read many more, and as I’ve already purchased, and plan to read very soon, the 1st book in the Tall, Dark, and Deadly trilogy, Hot Secrets.

Now I’m not going to get too much into the description of the book as the summary above does a great job of that. We start off with Lindsay on Mark’s door s

Secrets Exposed: Prequel to Tall, Dark and Dangerous

By Lisa Renee Jones

Lindsey Paxton is going to see Mark Reeve. He was her father’s partner, being groomed for to take over the law firm when she left it to become an FBI agent. They parted on very unfriendly terms, but she must get him to come back, or she would be stuck running the firm. Law wasn’t where her heart was anymore, it now belonged to the anti-terrorist department of the FBI. Plus the case her father took just before he took off to h

UUUUhh got this as a nook deal 3 book set for .99c and it was worth it and not in a good way. Lindsey was so annoying. At first you think ok she's dealing with stuff but she never gets better! When she knows a crazy serial killer is after her she still insists/sneaks out on her own. And she is bipolar with Mark and he calls her out on it multiple times, but she still keeps doing it and he still likes her! Why????
But I have to admit near the end it did peak my interest which seems to go up with

I had only one problem with this novella. It is a general complaint I have with writing in general. How come the Heroine is so stupid? Authors write strong smart independent women who struggle to find a place where they fit in to their jobs, families, relationships and society on general. Why then does every single one of them ignore all the "warning bells" they recognize? Seriously, if you knew you were being stalked and under death threats would you just say, "hmmm I know someone is there on t ...more

Main Characters:
Lindsey Paxton - Lawyer/FBI agent
Mark Reeves - Lawyer

Synopsis:
Lindsey has returned to Manhatten to take over her father's legal offices while he recovers from cancer. She asks a former partner, Mark, to help her run the office and develop a defense for a man charged as a serial killer whose victims are eerily similar to Lindsey.

My Thoughts:
I would have enjoyed this book much more if not for Lindsey. She is the most self absorbed character I've read about in some time. She is arr

In this bonus book that is connected to the Tall, Dark and Deadly Series you find Lindsey Paxton an FBI agent that left a town that she had worked as a lawyer in and ran as far as she could from her job, father and fiancé.
When her father is diagnosed with cancer and can't run his firm she has to come back and basically beg Mark Reeves her father's partner to come back to the firm. Without it the firm is failing and Lindsey isn't willing to take it all on.
Mark will only help Lindsey save the firm

This was an amazing read. I could not put it down once I started and ended up finishing it in one evening.

It moved along at an awesome pace, had amazing characters and a story that will keep you entertained from beginning to end.

Lisa Renee Jones is an awesome writer and out of all of her books, I have yet to be disappointed. Everyone should experience her books.

Secrets Exposed...

Was sold as book three in the box set, which was a great deal! It's another LRJ book of hot steamy scenes and complicated people/situations done simply. Don't be confused thou it's not a continuation of books one and two? It mentions Royce twice as a smidge of a tie in but it can be read alone! The actual book three can be bought separate...Blake's story.

I like her writing but it can feel very similar from book to book. However, this one does have a serial killer and doesn't fe

Gosh, this series is good. After two Walker Brothers books, we step back in time and see how Lindsey and Mark's relationship, both business and pleasure, came about.

For a 0.5 into to the series, this book packs a punch and it has you on the edge of your seat throughout; that is when you're not fanning yourself from the sizzling connection Lindsey and Mark have when they're together.

This book, although part of a series, could be read as a standalone but I would recommend reading books 1 & 2 f

Really enjoyed the book! Suspenseful, easy, fast read. Was a little bothered by the amount of typos and grammatical errors.

Finally finished! It took me ten days to read this, ahem...book. Why you ask...Am I a slow reader? Working to much or has life just got in the way? Nope. Nothing as sensible as that...The reason is because I had to force myself to finish this steaming pile of sh*t!! If I had read this poorly edited piece of dribble prior to reading the others I would have NEVER continued! Mark, Lindsey, Steve, Garth and Edward are all insanely stupid people. The plot is weak and unrealized although we get an end ...more

"Secrets Exposed is the second book I've read in the Tall, Dark & Deadly series. Once again I sm pleasantly surprised at the creative nature of the plot. It's a thriller and murder mystery all rolled into one. I enjoyed the intrigue and the character of Lindsay. She is strong willed and refuses yo gown down to anyone.

Lindsay has returned to New York when she learns her father is undergoing cancer treatments. He has always wanted her to run his legal firm, but she wants no part of

Secrets Exposed is a prelude novel to the new Lisa Renee Jones Tall Dark and Deadly series. I read a little backward and started with Hot Secrets book 1 in this series. Mark and Lindsey have a small part in it and i found out they had their own book so i needed to check it out. Lindsey is this confident got it together attorney until she defends a guy accused of rape and wins and the very next day he supposedly rapes and kills a woman. Guilt from that follows her wherever she goes. Her father an ...more

Usually I am all for a Lisa Renee Jones read, but this one fell a little short for me. The plotline itself I really enjoyed, but the characters took a while to warm up to and I never got emotionally attached to them which made the read a little uninteresting. I didn’t much care for Lindsey’s father at all, he seems rather selfish and hot-headed, determined to do what he wanted even if it would make his daughter unhappy or at the destruction of the company he worked so hard to build.

Lindsey’s ex

I’m not quite sure how I feel about this story and I don’t think that’s really the kind of reaction you should have at the end of a story. I did enjoy both the heroine and hero, Lindsey and Mark. I felt like she was a strong young woman trying to overcome past pain and live up to the expectations of her father. Initially Mark was not a likable character but I enjoyed seeing his growth and I loved how he became someone worthy of Lindsey’s love by the end. Unfortunately there were some things that ...more

I just finished reading this story and loved it. Lisa has a way with her writing that just grabs ahold and pulls you in. I had a hard time putting this book down, wanting to find out what was going to happen next. About halfway through I thought I knew who the culprit was, but I was so wrong. There are not many authors that I’ve read that can pull this off as well as she does. This is another of her books that I’ve read that did not disappoint. I highly recommend this story to anyone who has not ...more

Edward Paxton is suffering from cancer. His daughter, Lindsey has agreed to take over the family law firm, the Paxton Group, until Edward recovers or until another partner for the firm can be found to take over for Lindsey. More than anything, Lindsey wants to find someone else to take over the Paxton Group so she can go back to her job with the FBI.

Lindsey feels ill suited to be a criminal attorney. Years before as a partner with her father at the Paxton Group, Lindsey had defended and cleverl

Secrets Exposed was an awesome lawyer book, a light read, great romance with a little spice combined with a absolutely creepy murder case. Mark and Lindsey were a very likeable couple. I loved Mark as a character. He' a rather intimidating, big handsome person, but very sweet and thankfully not in denial about his attraction and feelings toward Lindsey. I was pleasantly surprised to see that he's such a hot and sexy but very sweet guy in the bedroom compared to his intimidating nature. He was ev ...more
