I received this book as a part of R2R.
I struggled to determine a rating for this book. In the end I give it 3.5/5 stars.
Good points –
Overall the story presented was well written and the first chapter drew me into the story. I could visualize everything I read easily in my head. The concept surrounding the story line is very intriguing.
Bad points –

Dafür fand ich...more

Touch and Choice are a pair of short stories, now presented together, but they are short stories, make no mistake. Ms. Snyder certainly didn't and she started the storyline off immediately.
I loved Rowan. For a 17 year old, she has seen her fair share of hardships and then some. Ms. Snyder presented her in a way that was both refreshing and meaningful, indicative of the rest of the story. Rowan never whines, never primps, never acts the part of the stereotypical angst-ridden teen. She is likeabl...more

This novella went straight to my heart. It's stories like 'Touch' by Jennifer Snyder that make me fall in love with young-adult paranormal reads and keep that 'in love' feeling days after I have read the last words. It was gorgeously written, haunting and gothicaly eerie. The first thing that caught my attention when opening this e-book was the breath takingly beautiful cover. I literally couldn't stop staring at it for a minute or two before moving on to the delicious parts: The story itself. T...more
First off, I would like to thank the author and R2R for giving me a copy of this book.
Rowan Harper is experiencing the worst time of her life. Her mom just died, actually committed a suicide, leaving Rowan and her dad in a slight depression. Ever since she was 8, she could see her mother acting strangely, depending on pills and doctors. Could there be something in their genes?
Will history repeat itself?

I wanted to rate this one a three, I really did, but it would have been dishonest to do so.
The premise was a decent one, it was more the execution that was lacking for me. The opening was promising. It took us straight into an active scene that was pretty well written, but then the pace seemed to grind to an absolute halt the minute Jet entered the scene.
Onto Jet. I just didn't see any kind of appeal. He barely speaks to her to begin, and his smiles he sends seem almost scornful. Then he only h...more

After Jennifer Snyder's stunning debut, Shattered Soul, I have been anticipating this novel. Ms. Snyder does an excellent job of painting a picture for you as she writes. Her writing is very fluid and easy to read and the way she describes everything is great. All of this carried over to her second novel.
The writing in her second novel was just as good as her first and it was just as well written. This novel was more of a straight romance then her first, which I normally don't read, but the wri...more

I really enjoyed this and was so disappointed that it just didn't keep going. I knew it was a novella, but I just wanted more from the characters and especially wanted to know whA happens next!
The main character Raven is young though certainly not naive considering the hardships that she's already faced in her 17 years. What Snyder has successfully created though is a character that I want to follow, want to see being happy and want to know more about. This always amazes me when a novella can su...more

Rate: 3.5/5
I really enjoyed reading Touch. I read it with one sitting because I was so impressed and amazed by Snyder’s style. I love her writing style; it flowed smoothly and stands out from other ya paranormal authors. This is the second time that I read a book with reaper as the topic, and my first time reading a book about reapers was awful. It was so confusing and information was thrown in the book everywhere. Recieved as part of R2R... Thanks!

Hmmm....
A FEW MINOR SPOILERS
I finished this novella in about 30 to 45 minutes, in two sittings, it is very short and I have to say it didn't really make me feel much. I thought that with Rowan's mum dead and her dad ignoring her I would get amazing, touching, moving descriptions about the loneliness she feels deep inside her self but no, Snyder only really briefly touched on Rowan's grief which I have to say disappointed me.

It was fast and easy read though the story was good..it could have been better.
Rowan is still suffering from the grief of her mother's - who was apparently crazy - suicide months back... when she is involved in a accident..but the accident leaves her more than a scar..it makes her 'link'..a medium between real and spiritual world and promotion to be reaper when she will die..(Geez!!) seems like her mother is not crazy after all.

The concept was interesting, and I really wanted to like the story, but I felt as if I were reading a quick synopsis of the story than the actual story. Everything moved so quickly that i didn't have time to take everything in or get to know the characters. I left the story feeling empty and unsure of what to think of what I had read. I don't know if she continues this series or not, but my suggestion for the next book is to spend more time fleshing everything out. Spend more time setting everyt...more
I received this book as a part of R2R.
I was drawn into this book immediately - it starts off powerfully and keeps the reader interested, but I kind of lost interest after a few chapters.
I've never been a fan of relationships that develop with unnatural quickness - you never really see a strong reason why Jet and Rowan are attracted to one other, except for the fact that she can see him. Rowan doesn't seem to have much of a life and she swoons and follows Jet quickly and easily.

I got this book from the people at "Paranormal Romance & Urban Fantasy Fanatics!" in a giveaway. So, the good things about this book:
It was written in easy and accessible language.
It was short and to the point.
Its a cute story and a good concept.
The problems that i had with it were that I felt we were pushed into the mystery of what was happening to Rowan rather hastily. Then I felt like Rowan lacked a backbone and just went along with everything without any resistance. Also the romance betw...more

"what are you?"
"fascinated"
I could only give this book 3 stars and not because the writing or the plot was in anyway bad just that I wished it could have been developed a little more and longer. The relationship between Rowan and Jet was sweet but just not enough there for me. There is definite potential with this story, if we could have it developed into a full length novel I really think it could be amazing. Having said all that it is a good read. I don’t often read novellas, but Jennifer Snyder’s Touch is one that really piqued my interest. The opening throws the reader right into the story and a car crash, but quickly dives into the plot of death reapers. Snyder’s reaper lore is vastly different from anything I’ve ever read before and it screams of possibilities.
The main character Rowan is likable enough, but I felt like she wasn’t developed as much as I wanted. Then again, this is a novella and only so much can fit into its pages. I di...more

when i read the excerpt that the author provided, it sounded like a dark ghostly read...but dont get me wrong i liked the authors creativeness with her vision of how someone would become a reaper and seerer and things like that in all means... but the story went to fast for me, even though i know this was intended to be a short read...

Touch Review on K-Books
I really don't know what to say about this book. It is a short story and I ended up reading it all in one sitting. It definitely wasn't what I expected.
Rowan is having a hard-time right now, her schizophrenic mother committed suicide and Rowan's life changed drastically. She suddenly starts seeing spirits and discovers maybe her mother wasn't so crazy afterall. What she doesn't know is her mother's suicide put in motion steps that will change her life forever.

I got this book on a R2R from ‘Paranormal Romance & Urban Fantasy Fanatics!’. Overall I enjoyed the story, but I felt like the it was rushed and the characters weren’t fully developed. I was left wondering about Rowan’s dad and her one-time best friend.
I’m very grateful that I was given the chance to read and review this story. Although I was disappointed by the fast pace, I definitely enjoyed reading Touch.

Holy shit this cover is the EXACT same as Forbidden. Whoever was in charge of doing these covers is a giant A hole if he/she didn't inform the authors...the only difference is the birds on Touch's cover...
