This was a fantastic book. Sheri Dew does a wonderful job of inspiring you to be better, as she shares her insites and experiences. But mostly, her strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and of our divine nature as children of God was what hit home the most. It truly made me want to let go of the things of the world, and try to be more Christ-like.

PS. I started reading this book a few years ago, and realized I only had 3 chapters left, so I finally finished it. I don't know why I have su...more

i've only read one other book by sheri dew, If Life Were Easy, It Wouldn't Be Hard: And Other Reassuring Truths, and as i seem to recall, i really liked that one. however, i LOVED this one. it had a wonderful message on how to understand our potential as women and how to live up to it. normally, when i read articles or books about things like that, i end up feeling guilty that i'm not doing what i can, but in this case, the book was so positive and uplifting that i had no guilt. i don't feel as...more

Great Book. Sheri Dew is so inspiring. On the back cover, she poses two questions..What have we come here to do? and How will we do it? Sheri shares experiences from her own life, incorporated with gospel teachings that helped me to remember who I am and what is my purpose. It left me feeling so inspired. Sometimes it was long for me, but I did love the book!

Some people have a beef with Sheri Dew because she's a more famous 2nd councilor than most RS presidents, or because she's written a lot of books, or because she's Mormonism's poster feminist. But you know what I was thinking while reading this book? That's just who she is. She's good at writing. She's an editor and a publisher who really knows her stuff (I once heard her discuss manuscript selection in a lecture and it blew me away.) and she's a 5'10 basketball fan from Kansas. It's just who sh...more

Sheri explains what it is that she has come to know and not doubt in her life through personal experiences of her own, her family, and those she has come in contact. She has traveled widely in her responsibilities as a member of the General Relief Society Board for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Her emphasis is on women and what a powerful and awesome force they can be when they band together with a common purpose. Her premise is that they can only do this if they first underst...more

More spiritually uplifting than any other book I've read, Sheri Dew proclaims that we all have potential for the glorious life of a divine princess, insisting that a royal spirit "who we were, who we are, and who we are meant to be". As she gives her view on many religious subjects, it's impossible not to take a step backward and re-evaluate your life. Are you reaching your own expectation? Your potential? The uplifting words of Sheri Dew inspire me to stand strong against the adversary, never r...more

This book was amazing! I bought it years ago when it first came out, but it's sat on my shelf. I finally picked it up, and I think it was the right time. My only regret is that I didn't have a pen or highlighter on me the whole time I was reading it, as there were so many good points that I wanted to be able to find again. Sheri Dew has an amazing ability to simultaneous tell you you're doing a good job at this test we call life, while also encouraging you to go far beyond where you are now. The...more

A few days ago I decided to re-read this wonderful book by Sheri Dew. The chapter heading I read last night sums up the book beautifully. "When we come to understand not only who we are but who we have always been-and therefore who we may become-the choice between following Christ or embracing the world is really no choice at all." It is a great way to remind myself why I should be doing all the things I should be doing, and gives me that extra push to try to do more.

Fantastic Book, gave a lot of insight as to living a purposeful life. It was interesting, because I had heard Sheri Dew speak prior to reading the book, and the subject matter was the same. It left me thinking a great deal about my role in life, and helped me realize that the Lord knows I am capable of doing so much more than I admit to being capable of... I definitely recommend this to everyone. Sheri has a simplistic but moving way of putting things.

Sorry, don't like Sheri Dew. Read this book for a book club once, I found it trite and condesceding. Especially when she gives advice on how to raise a righteous family and loving your children. Considering she has none, she should probably not give advice on these matters. Falsely upbeat to the point of being nauseating. If I could give negative stars I would. Not worth the penny I paid for it.

Sheri Dew is one of my favorite LDS speakers/writers. I listened to this on CD (although I've read the book before quite a few years ago) and I kept wanting to stop the CD to jot down quotes. So I ended up checking out the book so I can go back and jot down my favorite quotes if I can find them. She has so many great insights into what we believe, why we believe what we do and how this belief changes us. She uses personal examples as well as scriptures and quotes from church leaders. Love this b...more

This book, originally written for women in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is full of universal insights into how to live in the world without getting sucked into paths that lead away from Jesus Christ. It made me think about a lot of my own actions and recommitted me to live my faith more fully. A very good read whether or not you are part of the LDS faith.

I absolutely love hearing Sheri Dew speak, and I think she is an inspiration & great role model for anyone to follow. However, I felt like I had read the book before even though I hadn't. It seemed to be a collection of her talks written in book form. There were even a couple of times when she told the same story or used the same example in two different chapters.

I did enjoy reading it, and would recommend it to anyone who needs a little positive encouragement. She's a great woman. If you ha...more

I love Sherri Dew's books and always loved her talks when she served in the General Relief Society presidency. Her solid knowledge of the scritpures and gospel principles, her interesting quotes from General Authorities and others, such as C. S. Lewis and Mike Wallace, her personal stories, her call to action, and her humor all make this book a treasure.

I love how Sheri Dew writes. She puts life in a real perspective that you can really relate to. This book especially talks about your potential and how important it is that we live up to our standards. I love how she quotes scriptures and prophets and puts everything into a story format. I understand the principles she is teaching very quickly.

How can you miss with Sheri Dew? Of course good material--great message, but I missed the passion of her speaking in the written text. The latter part of the book drew me in more than the first half--maybe I was starting to hear her voice by then. Had I heard the same messages from her in a talk, I'm sure I would have given it 5 stars.

LOVE Sheri Dews example and testimony of the restored gospel. It helped give me a greater understanding, love and appreciation for our Heavenly Fathers Plan for us as Daughters and Sisters in Zion. I went out and bought 3 copies last year after reading it to give to my sister in law and 2 close friends. I will re-read this book year after year!

I like Sheri Dew a lot. I like her energy and enthusiasm for all things good and right. But No Doubt About It got really tedious for me. I felt like it was one long pep talk about how awesome women are. And while I think women are awesome, I was thinking that maybe I should have low self-esteem so that I would find this book more uplifting. As in, maybe low self-esteem is a pre-requisite for reading this book.

I loved some of the one-liners in this book, and I have saved many quotes from it. I al...more

This book is so uplifting and inspiring. Sheri Dew says everything so well and encourages all people to be the best they can at parenting, friends, Christians and spouses.

There are so many wonderful quotes to use for every day to help you along in your life, they are innumerable.

A great book.

Sheri L. Dew is a powerful writer. She has such a direct approach to the gospel and to the issues we may struggle with in life. This book is a faith builder and it did strengthen my testimony and understanding of the gospel of Jesus Christ and my role within it.

4 1/2 stars! I listened to this book on CD. I enjoyed hearing her read her own book.Brought back pleasant memories of when she spoke to our Stake Women's Conference. She gives you lots to think about, and she does so in a very engaging and appealing manner.

OK...so I really like Sheri Dew, but I am getting tired of the same stories and the same rhetoric. If you have never read her before you will love this book...if you, like me, have read all her other books...this is just a repeat to me.
Mary
I take all Sheri Dew books with a grain of salt, because I figure that no matter how good or bad her books are, she can always get them published, being the CEO of Deseret Book. That being said, I really do enjoy this book.
Dawn
This book was well written and interesting. I appreciated the encouragement offered through the author's own experiences and also the challenges issued to rise to greater heights and be a better, stronger person.

No doubt about it, Sheri Dew tells it like it is! Every chapter was full of great quotes to use in my daily life, in talks, helping others, etc. I loved the book and recommend it to all women, young and old.

Holy Moly Dew. It does create a little guilt for not being better than I am, but a firecracker of pure motivation. I think every other page in this is either doggy-earred or completely slathered in highlighter.

Sheri Dew has a real way of writing that gets to the heart and spirit. While this book may have been written to and for women, there are plenty of good lessons for men to learn, too. I recommend this book to all.

I learn so many things from this book everytime I read it. There are a ton of great anecdotes that make you laugh, cry and want to try harder at getting closer to our Savior. A great book for all - young or old!

I listened to this book on CD thanks to my father-in-law gifting it to me while he was serving as mission president. Sheri Dew is fun to listen to and her farm town stories relate easily with my growing up memories. You learn a lot about yourself and others simply by the place you're raised. I enjoyed her comment about "many are called but few are chosen and we do the choosing." I thought that was interesting and have pondered on it a lot since listening to the book. It is up to me to choose whe...more

I love Sheri Dew. Her books are so empowering. I currently teach Relief Society in my ward and I can't help but share at least one story or a few quotes from Sheri Dew in each of my lessons.
