I have to say, all of this killing is not going to do him any good whatsoever!! Signore Marino is pretty much a secondary character in this book....it's all about Silvio, his attitude to murder.....and his relationship with his brother Franco. Big guns are being talked about

First things first, I am SERIOUSLY digging the way these stories are being presented, they are like acts in a play. It works really well. Every time the curtain falls, we have some bits to digest before moving on.
The different sides to Silvio, the machinations in their world, the characters that we need to know (as uncomfortable as that may be) to continue discovering who Silvio is.

Holy hell.
This is the first time I'll rate the stories separately, but I feel there needs to be a distinction.
Dark Lady I If I could give this story a 1000 stars I would. Ridonkulous dark, twisted, sexy, and fascinating. Sergei and the Lady are so similar and who knows if things had been different what would have happened with them alone or with them together. From start to that amazing finish I was hypnotized by the writing. That hand on the face and the softened smile...pure genius perfection....more

Other scenes were so dark and disturbing and forbidden that I couldn't look away.

eta: I am giving Dark Soul III a high-high four now, because I want to see this serial novel through to the end before I give an overall rating. The brevity of the sections we've already have been treated to don't allow for the deep development these characters, imo, demand and deserve. I don't want to seem like a detractor, especially since I know that Voinov won't disappoint me, but I feel it's still prudent to reserve my final judgement until the conclusion of Dark Soul.

Wow. DS3 is currently my favorite of the bunch, though it's really hard for me to decide which of the 3 stories I liked the most. I think Dark Lady I has the edge though, because I learned the most about Silvio in that one over the others. Not in the respect of what he's capable of doing to accomplish his goals, which is significant when he's up against 4 Russians at once, but in terms of what he's capable of feeling too. I'm not sure how to rate this book. The first half was great- violent and disturbing but i couldn't stop reading. Then, in the second half of the book....

I have since realized since reading this book originally that many people are into incest in their M/M romances. I vehemently hate it so I'm stopping this series. It it totally a matter of personal taste but that is just too dark for me.

Ok holy wow doesn't even come close in this book. Silvio you are killing me. This series is amazing so far. But this book has me all over the place.
When the man you desire is out of reach suddenly finds a way to come within your grasp, will you succumb? In this third installment, Dark Soul Vol 3 has me on the edge of my seat. We meet Silvio again. He’s just as deadly as before, except this time, we actually see him in action. The way he takes out the threat to Stefano, his current boss is spectacular. It hits on a kink I really enjoy. I’m not going to spoil and tell you what it is, but boy does Mr. Voinov write it well.

If you remember, I gushed about Vol.1, Vol.2, and I doubt I managed to express the awesomeness that is this series. Like Kate already put it, Dark Lady 1 is fantastic. No need to say anything else.
Dark Lady 2 felt like a filler for me. Nothing really new there, but it was really short, so it works as a bridge to the most interesting part of Dark Soul 3, Dark Brother.

Completely whacked !! And I mean that's awesome ! Totally taboo, I couldn't understand the why's and how's of it. but I was completely drawn to it so I didn't care! On to the next !!
Kind of weird, but I actually felt sorry for Sergei(view spoiler) I think it was because Sergei treated Silvio so nicely, with compassion, even if he was a bastard to Stefano. But, I suppose in the world of the mafia that's the difference between business and pleasure.

Silvio and Stefano are amazing together. Darkness and light (or lighter is more the phrase for Stefano).

Silvio is determined to get revenge on the four Russian bitches (I say bitches because really that's what they are since they do all of the head honchos bitch work)...Ok, like I was saying Silvio is getting revenge for Stefano...and he definitely went to great lengths...I also wasn't sure if I should be freaked out or not...eh, not it is! I'm up for some freakiness!

Voinov once again screws with my comfort level and makes me question what really is "normal". This is why I love Voinov's work! Love, trust, acceptance...what should be a limiting factor for sharing that with someone (should it matter)? This story touches on subect matter I have avoided in stories I read. I continue to love this storyline and this in no way went the direction I thought this next installment would. A 3-4 read. In fact, I could easily change it up to 4 stars at some later stage. I'm a moody rater. Anyhoody, definitely - duh! - my fave of the series to date. The first story was a dark, gritty thriller. Loved it. Am also curious to find out more about the dynamics between Silvio, Franco and Stefano.
Also... I might have got a little snotty at the dedication to this volume. Just a wee bit. Not enough to destroy my kick-arse image though. You've been warned.

This series, is so un-bloody-believably brilliant that I devoured each and every one of the books back to back! I could not put them down.

From the summary I knew where this story was headed and I dreaded it. Not a big fan of cross dressing but it was captivating anyway, and I had to keep on reading. Almost to the end of the series, so why is Silvio having sex with everybody but Stefano? Was it necessary to have sex with the soilders before he killed them? What did that show?

This is my Voinov mantra. I am so far out of my comfort zone I don’t know which way is up. And it’s okay. That’s what really gets me; that it’s okay. But that, quite frankly, is the genius of Voinov.

I should hate this book. I really should, but as I began reading it I was utterly mesmerized how the author fooled me into thinking I wasn't reading one of the main characters from the beginning. It was brilliant!

You know, I'm not even sure how to categorize this book, or even this series. It's dark and gritty throughout, there's definitely some relationship stuff going on, but I'd hesitate to call it a thriller or a romance. Even though it ends up being a bit of both.
I read this entire series in the Dark Soul: The Complete Collection, so it's hard for me to break my thoughts up into each single edition. Review to be placed there in the next couple of days.
