This would usually be the time when I would ask the largely rhetorical and semi-pathetic question, “Why do I keep reading Sophie Kinsella books?” Well, this time the answer is blatantly obvious—the plot of this one involves amnesia, yo, and I can never resist amnesia—and the question is kind of unfair. Because this wasn’t so bad—far less annoying than the last few Shopaholic books. Kinsella’s strength has always been...more

The idea behind this book is thought provoking - Ladies, what would you do if you suddenly woke up in the hospital to find out that not only have you no memory of the last three years of your life, but that everything you do remember has changed? This would include your appearance (for the Better!), your career (you've been Promoted!), your love life (You're Married!! & to a really good-looking guy), your lifestyle (Fantastic! Your husband is rich and you make three times as much as you used...more

Sophie Kinsella's books follow a formula that's as simple and delicious as my favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe.
Start with a twenty-something heroine who's slogging away at her career in London. She's far from perfect. Neither an Oxbridge graduate, cover girl, or WAG of a world-class footballer, our girl's best quality is that she's a true-blue friend. She's a pretty hard worker, decent and well-meaning. She hasn't a mean bone in her body. Her flaws tend to run in the direction of ...more

When Lexi Smart wakes up following an accident, it's to learn that it's three years later and her life is nothing like she remembers it. The last thing Lexi remembers is clubbing with her girlfriends, and falling down some stairs while trying to get a cab home. The girls were drinking away their problems--in particular, that everyone in Lexi's company got a bonus except her, because she was too junior, her loser boyfriend stood her up, and that her father's funeral is the next day. In the hospit...more

This book represents every reason why I do not just pick up adult novels and read them without getting a trusted opinion. But, I'd heard of this author from her previous work (even though I've never read them), it's been well received, and the description sounded interesting, so I thought I'd try it. The fact that every other page contained the f-word (not an exaggeration) was enough to turn me off to the book. Add in the fact that the characters discussion of sex made it sound more like ...more

This book isn't really straight up "romance" like I imagine Jude Deveraux or Judith McNaught to be. Or even Nora Roberts. However, I didn't have a shelf for chick-lit.
The premise is very interesting. A woman - Lexi - has an accident after tripping while running to get a taxi and wakes up in the hospital three years later. With a successful husband, rich manicured nails, a (totalled) Mercedes, and a executive position at her company. Before she had a boyfriend (Loser Dave), bitten ...more

My First Sophie Kinsella Book
Lexie Smart. Was she or was she not Ghandi in a previous life? The fun and farcical story of Lexie Smart has the heroine in this tale, Remember Me?, wondering how she got to a completely different station in life between the years 2004 and 2007. She believes she's stumbled into a dream life, but soon steps into a hornet's nest of complications, including finding out she's married to a "guy she just met," Eric, who is so rigid you have to sit...more

A friend of mine had suggested I try out one of Sophie Kinsella's books, because she is a huge fan of the Shopaholic series. And after page one I realized I was into the story of Lexi who finds herself tired and fed up with where she's at in her life and wishing she had the life she'd always dreamed of. You know the saying, "the grass is always greener on the other side?" - well this story is a great example of what happens when you wish your life was completely different, you then get...more

Okay this was my second book by Sophie Kinsella and I was not disappointed. In fact, I was so delighted that mid-book I checked out a copy of her book, Can You Keep A Secret? from library.
I really enjoyed Remember Me? Although the heroine in the book Lexi Smart was reminiscent of the heroine in Undomestic Goddess (also the same in Can You Keep A Secret?) the storyline itself was pretty formulatic just like Undomestic Goddess and Can You Keep A Secret but they are all so well written that yo...more

With the same wicked humor and delicious charm that have won her millions of devoted fans, Sophie Kinsella, author of the #1 New York Times bestseller Shopaholic & Baby, returns with an irresistible new novel and a fresh new heroine who finds herself in a life-changing and utterly hilarious predicament….
When twenty-eight-year-old Lexi Smart wakes up in a London hospital, she’s in for a big surprise. Her teeth are perfect. Her body is toned. Her handbag is Vuitton. Having survived a...more

Imagine waking up one day to find you have the "perfect" life--great job, ideal spouse, the right look and money to satisfy your every need and whim.
In "Remember Me?" Lexi Smart does just that--wakes up to the perfect life. Lexi wakes up in a hospital following a blow to the head and having amnesia. The last three years of her life are missing and she's gone from a frumpy girl with the nickname "Snaggletooth" to a high-powered corporate career woman with a co...more

Menyalip dua buku yang sudah berbaris didepannya, lagi-lagi Sophie Kinsella dengan mudah memenangkan posisi terdepan. *what can I say? I just can't resist* ;)
*cuci*

I picked up Remember Me? because a member of an online group I’m in suggested it. That and I like Sophie Kinsella. While her books aren’t deep, they are fun. I’ve read all of the Shopaholic books (and, really, who hasn’t known a Becky Bloomwood?) but I loved Domestic Goddess.
The premise is simple: Lexi Smart has a car accident and wakes up in a hospital thinking it’s three years earlier. She has a husband she doesn’t know and an entire life she doesn’t recognize. Nothing in...more

I’ll admit that I enjoyed this book; after all I gave it 3 stars. The plot line was intriguing – albeit not entirely believable. Lexi Smart wakes up in a hospital thinking that the year is 2004 and that she has bad teeth, frizzy hair, and a lacklustre job. Imagine her surprise when she finds out that it is 2008 and she not only has amnesia, but a whole new (and improved) appearance, job, and relationship! But along with the positives of her new life are plenty of negatives, most notably ...more

I love Sophie Kinsella. Whenever I read her novels, I can't help but think she seems like the kind of woman I'd be friends with. She writes the way I think, and I can relate to at least one aspect of every single one of her characters. I AM her demographic.
I also love Kinsella's imaginitive plots. In Remember Me?, Lexi wakes up in hospital with a head injury and quickly realizes she's lost three years of her memory. In her mind, it's 2004 and she's your typical, underpaid twenty-something wi...more

I really enjoyed this book, as I do most all of Sophie Kinsella's work. I read most of her Shopaholic Series, and I was excited to see that she had written something a little different.
The book opens on the main character, Lexi out with her friends. She slips and falls, and when she awakes she finds out that it's three years later, and she had been in a car accident. She has amnesia and couldn't remember anything from the past three years. But her old friends are gone, she looks different - ...more
