I enjoyed it, but there were too many unanswered questions at the end.
This is the first in a series. The second book is coming out in 2008. It was pretty good for paranormal, but I prefer other paranormal worlds. This is about humans having dreams. While dreaming, guardians join them in the dreams. The guardians are aliens who live on another plane and fight off nightmares from hurting humans. Aiden is a guardian who falls in love with Lyssa a human and he crosses over to the e...more

I really enjoyed this new series by Sylvia Day. It is the first in this series that my Kindle does not provide the name of. I hate when that happens.
It is erotic and edgy. I won't say I was blown away by the level of creativity but I really enjoyed the way she paced the story and how she peeled away the layers of mystery to reveal the underlying conflict. This story was a cliffhanger, which is usually a pet peeve with me but it brought enough closure to the hero and heroine's s...more

I really enjoyed this book. I would say that the main focus is on the Hero and Heroine, Aiden and Lyssa (who are amazing by the way). There is a good storyline that runs throughout, which I am looking forward to learning more about.
One reason I didn't rate this book higher is because it was (in some parts) very confusing. The information we are learning about their world is thrown at you quite quickly and isn't explained very well. I for one don't know a lot about the dream world and...more

Aidan Cross is guardian of the realm of Twilight, a place that exists only between the real world and the dream world. It is Aidan’s mission to guard humans from Nightmares when they are dreaming, by having mind blowing sex with them. Also, his other duty as an elite warrior and the reason for his existence is the find and kill The Key. Unfortunately for Aidan, Lyssa is The Key and he falls in love with her.

Blatant erotic saga (and that's putting it mildly)in which there is a "crossing-over" of Dream Guardians. These have been set in place to protect mortals from their own nightmares. The author could have achieved a more palatable result, by curtailing the abrasive nouns.
I'm trying very hard not to DNF it...I'm finding it very slow going.
EDIT: Okay, so I ended up DNFing it, speed-reading through the second half to see if it would get any better. It didn't. I just didn't believe any of it: the plot, the characters, their motives.

Brings a whole new idea to dreaming and nightmares. Not impressed with the ending of this book so I'm looking forward to the next one to see how the problem of the lock, the key and the guardian is solved.
This is an amazing and very different paranormal series. I have not read anything even remotely close and I can't wait for her to continue the series.
i read sylvia day for her fantastic love scenes but this story could have been flushed out a little more.
Story didn't appeal to me. "Guardians" who go into dreams to have sex. Weird.

I'd give this 3 1/2 stars
Wow what a great idea for a story...absoulty loved it...my only problem is I wish it had been longer. I would have liked to ;have read more in depth about their world..Hopefully I'll find some answers in book 2.
Captain of the Dream Guardians comes to the rescue of veterinarian Lyss. Trapped in a dark dreamscape of her own making, locked behind an intricate gate, Lyssa waits, unaware she has the power to change her dreams. She only needs Aiden to show her the way.
Too bad she doesn't put more emphasis on the culture Aiden and the Dream Guardian's live in, to give depth to the story.

This book was very erotic and hot. It was about a Elite Warrior whose job was to enter people's dreams and give them their fantasy. The people never see him for himself until he enters one woman's dreams. She can see him for who he really is and realises that she is the key to changing his world as he knows it. It is a good book and fast paced.
I picked up this book because it was on a sale table and sounded interesting... Little did I know I'd find myself wanting more once the book was finished! According to the author, this will be a series though so I'll hopefully be a happy camper. The story is original and the sex is hot. It's the perfect balance of smut and plot... nice book!
So... I wanted to give this a try...
..And I'm really liking. I've been reading so slowly, absorbing the hotness that is Aidan Cross.
An interesting start to this series.
Sex: 2 Thumbs Up

If it was only true that hunky hawt! men living in another plane of existance, entered our dreams to keep the nightmares away. Aiden Cross would be my guardian every night!
omg! it was one of the best books i've ever read with erotic scenes! it was just fantastic!
Gosh, now I want a dream Guardians
