The only way to fix the system is to break it.

Long after the government falls, one city is founded in it’s place. Residents of the city are granted bodies that never age or grow tired. During the day, residents work to reach new potentials and, since sleep isn’t needed, celebrate all night. But living in Utopia does have a catch.

Guilt is a crime punishable by death.

While The Cause was reminiscent to me of other dystopias, there’s definitely a unique factor to it. One of the unique factors, a crucial part to the set up of the city, actually made me uncomfortable. This is one of the main pieces from the story I’ve taken away with me. It’s enough to make you cringe when reading it. And not thanks to graphic description, but the insidious nature you know the particular scene is referring to. It mak...more

This dystopian novel is a fairly quick read, but still has some fantastic ideas and concepts within its pages. My biggest complaint about the novel is simply that I wanted to know more about the interesting world Stoker created. Overall, this is a solid read in the vein of 1984 and Fahrenheit 451 that is worth thinking about.

This book was interesting from the get-go! The idea/plot of the book is very unique - never been done before. I really liked reading it and I wanted to keep reading it. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves dystopian novels.

I really liked Clint's view on what could happen in a society that is given eternal life. It's kind of an interesting view! I found his book intriguing and it kept my interest throughout. Good job, Clint, who happens to be a neighbor!

A good story, but basically the same plot, elements, and characters, as "This Perfect Day", by Ira Levin. And frankly, Mr. Levin did it better 40 years ago.

This is a very thought provoking book which gets you interested from the very begining and keeps you going until the very end. Gripping story lines and realistic dialogue having you relating to the characters and the bizzarre world they've voluntarily joined despite the crazy rules and absolute penalties for breaking them. A great read, would reccomend!

To me this book reminds of The Giver. I imagine this is what you would get if you crossed The Giver with The Hunger Games (disclaimer: I haven't run The Hunger Games). Very well done!

Meh. I liked the story, it was interesting, but it feels like I've read it before. There was nothing really stand-out about it for me.

Good story, poor editing. The errors were really distracting, as there were several punctuation and spelling errors PER CHAPTER.

Ok, it took me forever to start reading. Busy life! But once I started I couldn't put it down. I am amazed it is Clint's first book. Very good job! I would recommend it for sure! What is next? I think he needs a sequel!!!! Excellent!

This was a really interesting book. Page turner to the very end. I am hoping that a sequel is coming!!!!!!!! If you liked Hunger Games and a Brave New World you will agree. Very original story.

Dystopia has always appealed to me. If I had to shoehorn my writing into one category, Dystopia would fit best. Even since I read "I am Legend" by Richard Matheson, I fell in love with the the question -- what if? Dystopia is all about answering that question.

Some people fantasize about magic and mythical creatures. I dream about strange politics and extraordinary people. I write fiction about the...more
