I started reading this book thinking that I was going to read one more book about vampires. Fortunately, it is not just one more book about vampires. And luckily the vampires in this book doesn't resemble in the least bit the ones in that other series of books that you all have in mind. It is nice, for a change, to see vampires that can go out during the day and have no problems with eating garlic. The story is very original too, and that's what made me feel like reading it, among other reasons....more I started reading this book thinking that I was going to read one more book about vampires. The story is very original too, and that's what made me feel like reading it, among other reasons.

When Aurora, a young vampire, goes food hunting one night, she meets Trey, a rock star, and they feel immediately attracted to each other. Follow Aurora and Trey as they try to make their relationship work, taking into account that Aurora must hide from Trey her being a vampire. Once their relationship gets deeper, some dangers will threaten them, so Aurora will have to protect Trey from her vampire world, but at the same time keeping that danger and her secret away from Trey.

The story works quite well, and the plot is original. We get the story told by the two protagonists, so we see the story from the point of view of both Aurora and Trey. However, at the beginning it is a bit confusing to follow who is talking, and then, all of a sudden, Trey's voice is more eloquent than Aurora's voice. I would have loved to see more balance between the two points of view. I mean, the book starts focusing on Aurora and her painting, and then everything is centered on Trey and his music. Taking into account this book is the first in a series, we shouldn't be surprised to see some loose plot points, since I guess that the author will use them in the next books (or I really hope so). But I have to say that those plot points that are not going to be fully developed in the book shouldn't be given too much attention. In that case, they can mislead the reader, making us wait for them to be developed, or to see what happens next.

The characters are well developed but they don't grow. They are the same from the beginning to the end. A vampire who is an artist and a rock star who is not all ego are a very attractive couple, and a very original one. I liked that.

If you are looking for an original, entertaining, and different love story, choose this book and you won't be disappointed. I really loved reading this book, and I will also read the next book in the series.

YUMMY!! I love a book that makes me wish I could jump into the story and hang with the characters. Aurora has a cool vibe and more than just her low body temp. And Trey...well, Trey just sounds fab and dreamy. Both are mellow in how they handle their talent and abilities. I like how they find each other at the club. It's like every fan-girl's dream of having the rock star of their yen in need of rescue and being able to do so in a superb fashion with some HEA possible.

This was an interesting twist on the whole vampire-falls-in-love-with-a-mortal idea since the girl is the vampire and the guy is the mortal. You don't see that much and it was interesting. Another interesting stylistic choice was the use of a double first-person narration. Although sometimes confusing about who was talking, it was unique. A captivating story of vampires and rock stars! Trey and Aurora are believable characters that you find yourself caring about - I think I'm actually a little bit in love with Trey myself!
There are fresh takes on vampires here. The way they exist, keep their identities hidden, and use their powers have all been dealt with originally. The characters and their backstories are strong, and so are the supporting characters - you'll love the rest of Trey's band!

I am totally in love with vampire books. That being said this book captivated me from the start.

It took me time to get through the book just because of life in general got in my way. I would try to read when I could which was mostly when I should have been asleep and would end up going to bed at least 2 hours late each time I did that. This book was cute, but a little pedantic. The plot was similar to other vampire books: vampire falls in love with human, human’s life is endangered because of it, vampire turns human (or in the case of this book, plans to turn human).

There are some salient points that give this story enough of a difference to encourage me to read book 2 in the series (Immortals And Melodies). The vampires are not harmed by sun or garlic, they just have extra powers when the moon is up. The human in this case...more

so I know you’re gunna laugh at me, but with and aversion to the vampers, I sure do seem to read a lot of them! HA! And I almost didn’t sign up to read this one because of the vampire aspect but I’m really glad I did. At first, I was thinking the whole vampire loves a human story was done already, BUT I really enjoyed that fact that the vampire is an ARTISTIC WOMAN vampire and a MUSIC GENIUS male human. My second positive turning point is that vampires aren’t like the “typical” vampires in this story. Sunlight is not lethal. The moon cycles control their powers. And it’s very selective, you don’t just get to be all powerful just because you’re a vamper. They do still drink blood but not everyday. Alcohol doesn’t do the same things like to humans but they can drink it. Such an interesting way to get some fresh new ways for the vampire world.

My one small disappointment is I expected more from the characters. I’m not saying I didn’t like them, on the contrary I really like them. But I think they just fell a little short of my expectations. And I also think part of it is meeting new characters in a new series of a debut. No worries I’m not giving up, I plan on continuing the story with book two and maybe I’ll learn something that will change my mind but on a positive side, I should say that I loved when Aurora would paint. I’m not a creative person, so reading from that perspective was a great thing for me. And being that I love music so much, it was very cool to see that side of it. I always love the finished product but I have a new respect for the people who give it to me

I will say that almost anyone who picks up this book will enjoy it. It is just fine for almost any age group and it can be classified in multiple genres. I would put it more in the paranormal romance box. I would also like to say I really really enjoyed the writing style. It’s a first person POV and it’s pretty fun being in Aurora’s mind. I enjoy her rebel without a cause attitude.

So all in all, I enjoyed this as an easy light read. My vote is for you to get your hands on it. 3.5 PAWS!! And I’ll be going off to read book two now LOL(less)

I found the idea of a vampire artist falling in love with a human rock star kind of new and engaging. Even though it is another story about humans and vampires falling in love, it's nothing like you've ever read before.

Cute story - when I first heard this title, I thought.. what could be better than aa Vampire rock star!!!

But ok - I was wrong. Trey isn't a vampire... he's a rock star - His band is taking a break from their first tour, and trying to get new material together for their next album.

This book managed to grab my attention after only the first couple of chapters. I could tell that it was going to be something different in the world of vampires and I was pretty excited about that. Sometimes it is hard to find something different and unique than what is already out there.

Not a bad read the story line was good I was unsure at first how a rock star would end up hooked up with a vampire but Heather Jensen worked it out nicely. It was a nice paranomal romance maybe not as hot as some readers prefer but a nice love story all the same.

I really liked Blood and Guitars, but it just wasn't exciting enough for me. It has a nice leisurely pace to it, which isn't a bad thing at all, but when you are reading it for review and not just for personal enjoyment it effects the rating as terrible as that is.
