4.5 Stars. This is by far the best book in this series to date; probably my favorite Rogers book of the dozen or so I've read by the duo.

Archer has been such an enigma in this series. Is he a Bloodhound turned rogue, or is he doing the bidding of the Guild...that's the question about him that's been building since this series began. I’ve not read the first two books in this series, so only the fact that I’ve read other books by Moira Rogers is what gave me my first clue I’d be reading about shifters. But bloodhounds? That made me think of that large and lazy hound from old episodes of The Beverly Hillbillies. But when such impressions are first and foremost in a reader’s mind, it’s the talented author(s) who smashes all preconceived ideas to smithereens. Ms. Rogers does that quickly and very efficiently when introducing Archer, a bloodhound atoning for something that perhaps he shouldn’t be.

Archer is that tortured soul we love to read about. He’s rough around the edges, has seen way too much in his day, and is being worn down even more by the accusations of betrayal against the Bloodhound Guild. Crystal Springs is becoming a ghost town with folks either being taken by a nest of vampires in the area or just leaving on their own to save their skins. So it’s Archer’s job to rid the town of the problem. Just another mission to decrease the lost trust of those he supposedly betrayed. Of course, being our hero and after getting to know him, we know those accusations are false. Archer may be on the backside of darkness at the moment, but he’s still honorable.

Trying so hard not run from her criminal past anymore, Grace Linwood has found friends in Crystal Springs who take her as is, no questions asked. The day she meets Archer, though, is the day doubts creep in and she’s close to running. Having a change of heart will alter her life dramatically. She’s drawn to Archer, but never hopes something permanent can come of anything between them. As soon as the vampires are vanquished, he’s on to the next assignment. Doesn’t mean she can’t get a bit of loving from the man in the meantime.

But the full moon is coming. Once they acknowledge the desire arcing to and fro, and though Archer wants Grace like no other, he’s afraid he’ll hurt her one way or another. Either being too rough during love making or striking out at her in the throes of fighting. Grace has no such illusions, and she wants to be with Archer just as much. And I have to say, being a bloodhound is a huge plus when it comes great sex. This man has it all when under the spell of the moon. A ferocity that can’t be sated, along with a tenderness that confirms Grace’s belief he’d never hurt her. At the other end of the spectrum is his fierceness when blinded by the moon call. The carnage he leaves behind is proof of that.

After such emotion they share, it’s apparent to both Archer and Grace that though they want to be together, to try to build a life, the Guild won’t allow Archer to stay. But he’s determined to find a way. The man has a few more surprises in him. I enjoyed these two together quite a bit. They both have pasts they want to forget, but that past is what has shaped them into who they are today and they accept each other just like they are.

We also meet Diana, a female bloodhound who needs a guiding hand to learn more about her animal side. I’m hoping she gets her own book. She’s an interesting character and I’d like to see who shows up as her hero. This is my first Bloodhound book. I do think not reading at least the first book in series put me at a bit of a disadvantage, mostly in meeting all the characters initially and seeing their involvement in each other’s lives as the story arc progresses. But I find that I now have a hankering for bloodhounds. Who knew!

This might be my favorite Bloodhounds story yet. I have fallen for all the Bloodhounds and was thrilled that Archer got his own story - and of course that he finds the perfect girl for him was inevitable.

My favorite thing about this story is that so many of the characters are re-building themselves in their small border town. I always was interested to see what would happen to Archer. :) Loved the main female character & how Archer developed in this story.

The ending gave us an intriguing intro for what the next book could be about == cannot wait to see if my suspicions are correct. Looking forward to more!

Archer is a man on a mission, or at least that is what the Guild has told him. They sent him out to a place that seems like the edge of the world, a little town called Crystal Springs to try to salvage what he could of the town and the people that lived there... The few that did remain. His dark past haunts him every day of his life but he refuses to let it get in the way of doing what is right. Now a little about the man himself.... He will scare you at first because you will get the feeling he means business - serious business. But once you get under that layer of insecurities he has, you will find a man with a heart the size of Texas. The only problem, he wasn't prepared to lose his heart when he was trying to save the town.

Grace is trying to start her life all over again. The only issue is that she is trying to build her future on the lies from her past... So things are very shaky for her. She has come to love the people of her new town and care very deeply for them. They are the closest thing to friends/family she has ever had. But then.... There are thoughts of just packing up and leaving. Her heart is really not in the leaving part... But all she knows is to run... But she is tired of running... Until she meets the one man that takes her as she is.... Past and all.... But will it hurt when he leaves...

This is a nonstop action story with a lost man and woman that wants to be found. These two are meant for each other without realizing that they are truly meant to be. Both feel like they are broken and can never offer to be whole to anyone. Both of them feel like they don't truly have anything to offer up to anyone in a relationship... and why put someone in your life when your life is not all that great to start off with. This is a story of finding someone who makes you feel whole... someone who makes you feel like you are worth a damn.... someone who would destroy the world to make you safe! That is love that you just don't want to give up... That is what Archer and Grace give us...

Trust me, you will want to be on this adventure! The vampires, the ghouls, the bloodhounds.... The blood, the hurt, the hunt.... The passion, the desire... It is all worth it! I promise!! I LOVE the tortured hero. And dang - these bloodhounds? They are tortured to the max!!! These books are cross between steampunk/westerns/romances/paranormal and are ALL Moira Rogers. The team of Bree and Donna (the two ladies who make up Moira Rogers) have this unique talent of creating these amazing stories that are completely their own. How on earth do you categorize this??

I love Moira Rogers’s steampunk/ pnr series-The Bloodhounds. An incredibly sexy, action packed story that will keep you glued to your e-reader. An enchanting mix of old and new sets the stage as we engage with our two fascinating protagonists, Archer and Grace.

We first met Archer in Wilder’s Mate. The most unpredictable of the bloodhounds, he is dealing with guilt over making the bloodhound, Hunter, and now has to deal with the Guild thinking he betrayed them. He accepts a mission to Crystal Springs, a dying frontier town, to investigate rumors of vampire attacks. What he finds is a town barely surviving. Most of the residents are gone and/or dead, and who’s left are not fighters.

Grace Linwood came to Crystal Springs to begin her life anew. A former con woman, she is now the town’s schoolteacher but the pressure is getting to be too much and she knows the town hasn’t long to survive so she makes plans to leave. Archer arrives as she is about to flee and makes a deal with her. Introduce him to the town and then she is free to go. No judgment. But Grace is fascinated by this bloodhound and feels a connection to him.

Archer and Grace are cut from the same cloth. Loyal and intelligent; both have reinvented themselves in hopes of finding redemption from their past. They hide behind walls they have erected, never allowing anyone to know the real person behind the mask. When they meet, their souls recognize each other. The dialogue between them is both humorous and seductive as they fit each other well and the flow between them is quite erotic to read. Archer is a dirty bird. The chemistry is apparent from the beginning and a steady undercurrent flows between them, priming you for when they will go to the next level. Archer and Grace both know what they want and aren’t afraid to voice it. Their the sexual relationship begins quite suddenly with the full moon but it’s when their emotions become involved that the true romance begins. Archer is deliciously and verbally dominant in bed and hasn’t an ounce of shame about it. Grace, though quieter, is just as demanding and more than holds her own with Archer in and out of bed.

The secondary characters add dynamite to an already explosive storyline. Rogers ups the stakes in here with the introduction of new characters and new revelations concerning the Guild that take will take this series down new and exciting paths. What I really love about all of Moira Roger books is no character is used just as filling. Each one is imbibed with enough vitality that you want then to have their own story.

The plot is solid with plenty of suspense and action to keep you satisfied. I do like the villain(s) was more prominently featured in this one and the storyline is built upon layers that I await impatiently for answers to. All and all another great read by the ladies of Moira Rogers that left me wanting to read more about these sexy, sexy Bloodhounds and the women who are their destiny.

I love Moira Roger’s Bloodhounds series. They combine all the best parts of steampunk, western romance and paranormal romance into one fantastic story; I never want this series to end!

Archer and Grace were great together, throughout their story I had the song lyrics “we’re just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl” running through my head because that is exactly what Archer and Grace were – lost souls. They each had a past they wanted to run from; Grace was hoping that in Crystal Springs she could find redemption for it while Archer was seeking a kind of forgiveness for his. Little did they know that they were the only ones that saw the darkness staining their souls and it took the other to help them see past that. From past books, I wasn’t expecting Archer to tug on my heart strings the way he did in Archer’s Lady but it didn’t take long for me to fall in love with his character. The sex scenes between Grace and Archer were hot and intense, written with the same flair I’ve come to expect from Moira Rogers, but it was the connection between the two main characters that really made them sizzle.
I was glued to the pages by the mystery and intrigue that was expertly woven into the plot. Why were the vampires attacking the town? What were they looking for? And what did the town, or someone in the town, have to hide?

As with every book in the series, Archer’s Lady was a fast and entertaining read with captivating main characters, intriguing secondary characters that I hope to see more of and an overall series arc that left me with a craving for more! I can’t wait to see what wild ride Moira Rogers and the Bloodhounds have in store for us next. I definitely recommend this book, better read in series order, to paranormal romance fans who might like a bit of the ‘Wild Wild West’ with their fangs and fur. (less)

Grace and Archer were great together because they were able to see the good in each other. Archer is brave for what he does as a Bloodhound, men who are turned into weapons to fight vampires, and Grace is caring in the work she does for those vulnerable still in town. Of course, they each only see the bad they've done but when they're together, they help each other heal and that's what I liked most about them. The intense sex I've come to expect from the series was there are very hot but I think the real connection between them was outside of the bedroom.

It becomes obvious to Archer after arriving in Crystal Springs that the vampires are not just there to feed. They are there because they are looking for something and the race to find out what is on. I found this story to be really interesting and I liked that it wasn't as simple as the vampires wanting to attack just for the sake of killing. That would have been boring and that's something this book is not.

Archer's Lady fits perfectly into a series that has thoroughly entertained me with each release. Archer and Grace really complement each other and I hope this isn't the last we see of them. For the supporting cast, I thought Grace's friend Diana was an instantly fascinating character with a secret that sets her apart from any other woman in the world. I can't wait to see how that affects things in the next book. There was a lot to like in this book and like all the other Moira Rogers' books I've read, I recommend it. This book contains paranormal romance, Wild West and some steampunk elements.

In Archer’s Lady we finally get to know the man behind the cool and unattached Bloodhound. Archer is everything I wanted him to be: alpha without being too overbearing, a strong and powerful fighter with a big heart. On the surface he sometimes seems a bit cold and uncaring but with Grace he’s a different person. The way he treats her with care and without judgement warmed my heart. He always does the right thing even when his view of the “job” isn’t what it should be. He puts the needs of the community above his own and gives everything he has to make them feel home and safe again. And let’s not forgive he’s hot and totally rocked my world.

Grace isn’t my favorite heroine in this series though. It’s not like I didn’t like her but well in comparison to the previous books I missed something. Grace has a secret past she’s still running from. She’s ashamed of her deeds and in weak moments the only solution she sees is flight. She struggles with it and in the end she never actually does it. Chrystal Springs was meant to be her new start and now faced with such a desolate and threatening situation she is overwhelmed. When Archer joins the picture her character got more substance in my eyes. Through their conversations we get more insight into her thoughts and reasons for acting the way she does.

The sexual chemistry between Archer and Grace build up a the exact right pace for me. I loved to see them undo each other in with their affection. It’s always nice to see a strong warrior-type man unravel for the woman he’s meant for. Makes me all sappy and gooey inside. *happy sigh*

One thing I completely adored about Archer’s Lady is the community Rogers created in Chrystal Springs. All those people who stayed even though their lives were threatened really warmed my heart. We meet a variety of fascinating characters and thankfully the author took the time to make them more than just an ornament. It’s one of Rogers’ gifts to bring characters to life even in such a short format and I treasure their stories for that.

The story-building was wonderful. From page one I was drawn back into the world. I loved how easily all the needed back-story is woven in without being annoying by useless repetitions. I love the fight scenes and caught myself grabbing the eraser like a madwoman and cheering the good guys on.

I would have loved to see more of the previous characters in this series but by not including this Archer’s Lady is a great story to start reading about this world. I’m pretty sure even a Bloodhound “virgin” would enjoy reading about Grace’s and Archer’s journey.

Archer’s Lady is a splendid addition to the Bloodhound series. A wonderful strong and broody hero and a heroine who awakens his softer side. You will find a great plot, engaging steampunk action and a mystery you will crave to figure out. Archer’s Lady isn’t only for the fans of this series- if you haven’t tried these books yet this one is a perfect choice to start- you won’t regret it.(less)

Grace moved to Crystal Springs for a fresh start, wanting to leave her past behind her she took the job of school teacher and has tried to become a respectable lady. Archer brings out her wilder side, she wants him from the moment she sees him but is afraid to loose her good reputation. As they work together to uncover the threat to Crystal Springs the new moon draws ever closer - and with it Grace's wish to fulfil Archer's every need grows stronger.

I'm a massive fan of the Bloodhounds series so couldn't wait to read Archer's Lady. The story is everything I've come to expect from this series and I'd highly recommend reading it. If you're new to the series then you'll want to read the books in order though so make sure you start with Wilder's Mate. Like all of the other Bloodhounds we have met Archer is definitely an alpha male - he is strong, fierce and dominant but also incredibly caring when it comes to Grace. He doesn't want her to be afraid of him and her needs are more important to him than his own. Grace has come to Crystal Springs seeking redemption for her past, she is far from innocent and has lied to and conned men for most of her life as a way to survive. More than anything she wanted to start a new and respectable life but she lives in fear of her past catching up with her.

Grace and Archer make a great couple. They both have shady pasts and recognise that it is something they have in common. What I loved most was how honest they both were, neither of them have shared their full history with anyone else but they refused to lie to themselves or each other. This couple scorch the pages and I loved the dirty talk and banter between them. Alongside the romance we have plenty of action, the town is under attack and it is up to Archer to find out why the vampires keep coming back even though there are hardly any people left. We find out some interesting things about the Guild and just how far they are prepared to go to cover their tracks. I also loved the addition of Diana - she adds an interesting dimension to the series and I can't wait to read her story (which is up next according to Moira Roger's website!).

If you have enjoyed the other stories in this series then Archer's Lady certainly won't disappoint so make sure you buy your copy today!(less)

I liked this latest addition to the Bloohound' series (which I already love for the combination of steampunkish elements and pnr).

I also appreciate that, even short, this series is never formulaic. Each story has its own merit, even in the new moon madness. It's somewhat weird how the Ms Rogers team can make a romantic out of me :P
