Hope didn’t ask for so much change in her life. She was happy living in Georgia for the rest of her life. Focusing on the things she loved the most: singing, dancing, and her best friend Karsen. This was effortless, she had no worries.

But all that changed when her mother decided to leave her dad for Pete, the Tae Kwon do instructor. And now Hope had to choose between stayi...more

Alana ~ The Book Pimp
Let me just say: Hot, Hot, Hot. Innocent, virginal YA this is not!

I give it 4½♥'s... I'm showing a full 5, but I'm a little particular about giving 5 stars- it was close. Emotionally, it's a YA story (and also technically since the main female protagonist is in high school) but from the steam factor- my, oh, my! It's racier than many adult books.

Once I started reading Ink, I didn't want to stop reading!! It's that good!!

After her mom and dad get a divorce, Hope decides she's going to move with her dad and twin brothers to Cherry, California. Soon after she arrives she goes to a concert in the park and meets Hottie McHottertan, Slade. He has piercings and tattoos, which I love! Anyway, he saves her from getting trampled and walks her home. Things in Cherry should be great-Hope lives right on the beach, she's goes to a performing arts sch...more

SUMMARY (50 words or less)

First off, this YA book rivals content description of some adult books so be warned. This book is not for the faint of heart. With that said, I still think for the most part what happ...more

Hope moves out to California with her father and brothers after her parents' divorce. Having a hard time making friends and fitting into the rich and snooty town, Hope meets Slade and Tucker, two guys from completely different worlds. After she starts spending time with both Slade and Tucker, Hope's life takes a dangerous turn, and she has to decide which one of them she can trust…possibly with her life.

I loved the characters in this story. They were very well written, and you felt like you got...more

This really was a fantastic read. I was captured right from the beginning, and found myself staying up late and getting up early so I could read more.

The book starts off with Hope and some of her family moving out to Cherry, CA. They are a family divided, and her paternal grandmother lives out west, so they decide to leave GA. They aren’t rich, but they are definitely moving to a wealthy area. Hope, her dad, and two of her brothers (Eliot and Easton – twins) pack up the van and are on their way...more

This book at first was quite good.
It drew me in nicely and was going ok.
But then as it went on everything seemed to drag on and I gee bored and tired with it.

It didn't really begin to pick up again until right at the end.

It took a great effort to not just stop reading it, I wouldn't really recommend because myself I found it I uninteresting and a waste of time. It was good at the start and end but by any means it is too long and the whole middle seemed insignificant.

Plus I didn't really crus...more

Let me just say this is the first book in a long time, that really caught my interest and I had a hard time putting it down. The story of it sucked me in from beginning to end. It also even had me dreaming about it. When I got up at 3 am to take care of my baby girl, I had to finish the book before I even decided to fall back asleep. It was my mission to find out what would happen between Hope and Slade. Hope is a girl who has to give up everything in Georgia to go to California with her father...more

The Good
Once I started reading this book I could barely put it down. It has romance, heartbreak, nail-biting moments, and mystery. Every character had their own personalities and own agendas. Hood has created a world that's both magical and nerve wracking, for evil is lurking in Cherry and Hope can't always come out unscathed. But it's the continuous guessing game on who Hope can trust that really thrilled me. Can she trust Slade, the guy with a bad reputation, who sings in a band, who has tatto...more

Ink was one of those books that I just didn't want to walk away from! Hope is 17 years old and her parents are getting a divorce. She decides that someone needs to take care of her father. So, she with him and her twin brothers from Georgia to Cherry California. She leaves behind her home and everything she has ever know...including her best friend.
Most of the people in Cherry California lead a privileged lifestyle. And as she soon finds out, she just doesn't fit in.

I apologise to the author as it took me much longer than anticipated to review this book. I think one of the main reasons for this is that despite compelling writing, try as I might I just couldn't like the main characters.

First of all, this is 18+ mature YA. There is plenty of sex and violence. I was taken aback by it, although the author did give a fair warning about the contents of the book.

Hope moves into Cherry, CA with her alcoholic father and younger twin-brothers leaving her friends and...more

I cannot believe this book has even 1 negative review. I could not put the book down for a minute! (To each is own I guess). It's my first time reading any of Holly Hood's works and I absolutely love her writing! She is another author out there that has an addictive quality to her writing. She created amazing characters with such a realistic feel that snatches you from the start. It's an exciting, emotional, magical, fun and suspenseful read that keeps you hooked and wanting more!

After reading the synopsis to this book I figured I would give it a try and I have to say that i enjoyed the book.

Hope Zigler is about to experience a whole new side to the world. Born and raised in Georgia, Hope is used to nice and caring people. When her mother and father split up, Hope is California bound with her dad and twin brothers. The people of Cherry CA aren't like the southern sweethearts. They are mean, cruel and have secrets. When the only person that doesn't make Cali so...more

To be honest, I do not really like reading books that are classified as YA. I am already 21 years and I pride myself in reading adult books. I though Ink would be just another YA novel but then, I was so wrong. I started this book yesterday afternoon and by now I am finished with it and I am excited to wrote a review about it.

I love it! I really enjoyed the book. The characters are very interesting and Slade is one hot guy I would want to play with. Hahaha! The lip ring! This book reminded me a...more

There are some books you read that make you remember your teen years fondly. Though mine was never covered with the outstanding magical fantasy that didn’t mean that the moments of some teenage rebellion or what my father thought was didn’t compare. It made me smile and gave me fond memories of times past to pop to the imagination which only helped the story it’s self unfurl and make me turn the pages even so I stayed up all night just to finish it. Though some of the scenes are meant more for t...more

What's not to like about a man with a lip piercing and tons of tattoos? There's nothing about Slade that isn't likable. He may have deep dark secrets but none of them are terrifying. He falls madly in love with Hope, the new girl in town. Hope has moved to California from Georgia with her father and younger twin brothers. What I liked most about Hope is how real she is. She has some honest to goodness issues and problems which she handles as any teenage girl would. And at 17 going on 18, she han...more

This book was intriguing. I was surprised to enjoy it as much as I did. To be honest, I think that this book would make a really amazing movie. The only downfall to it was how long it was. It seemed to drag on and on in some parts, but it didn’t keep me from reading more to find out what would happen next. Lots of twists and turns involved, which I loved. The ending was more than I could have hoped and asked for. I was thankful that things ended the way it did. Tucker and his father really were...more

ARR- I received this book in exchange for a review.
First let me tell you that for the first couple of chapters I wasn't sure what I was reading however once I understand the story line I fell in love with this story. You are introduced to Hope who has just moved from Georgia to Cherry California with her dad and her twin brothers they left behind their mom and her youngest brother because her mom fell in love and moved in with her brother's Tae Kwan DO instructor(that sucks for the dad because h...more

Hmm, three or fours stars...

I want to give four stars, I couldn't put it down, and the story expertly kept you guessing the whole way through. The characters felt well-rounded, and they each had their own drive, their own secrets.
I loved the relationship between Hope and her dad, how much she loves him, and how much she gives up for him. That their roles are reversed, and Hope is often left feeling like the parent. It all felt very real.
And as for her relationships with Slade and Tucker... defin...more

When I read the description I knew i was going to love this book and I was right! So when I contacted the author for a Nook version she was nice enough to give me one. I hope to repay her by giving a review about her AMAZING book.

This book is SO different from everything else I've read and I've read a lot of books. So many books have the same plot line now but this book has originality. With a mix of reality and supernatural it blends together nicely. The characters were amusing and adorable. W...more

Ok. Hope is a sweet southern girl from Georgia who moves with her father and twin brother to Cherry, CA. She meets a hottie, bad boy...tattoos & lip piercing (yummy)... her 1st night at her new home. Oh my where to begin, where to begin...hmm...this was one of the more original YA paranormal reads I've ever read. And the novel felt so extensive, I felt like I read more than one book. I liked it and I disliked it.

"Ink" had every YA cliche I think it could have. We have Hope, the heroine who feels like an outsider, comes from a broken home, a talented good girl who had to move across country to take care of her young, good-looking father who drinks away his sorrows he feels from his soon-to-be...more

Hope has moved with part of her family to Cherry California. Her mother left them for her son's martial arts instructor. Her youngest brother stayed with her mother too. Hope felt obligated to stay with her dad because he is an alcoholic and she is worried he will get hurt.
She meets tall dark and dangerous guy called Slade. He used to go to the same school she did but got kicked out.
Slade hangs out with the band and Emo people. She attends a few of the concerts, but something isn't right.

I finished!
Ink was a fast paced story about a girl named Hope, she moves from Georgia to California with her dad and twin brothers. From the first couple pages I was wondering what was going to happen. I liked Hope she was a well rounded character. I also have read this authors other series and Hope is a different person compared to Eve. Hope was sweet but had a toughness about her, she was stubborn too. This made the story more interesting.
Hopes dad is always drinking and she is dealing with he...more

I only downloaded this to my kindle because it was free at the time and I couldn't believe how lucky I was.

Being slightly older I wasn't sure about the teen theme but dark hero Slade is just so irresistible that I just couldn't put the book down. I had shouted at my teenage daughter to start reading it by about chapter three!

The sex scenes had some humour and plenty to make you swoon too and the super natural parts were very nicely played out. The description when our heroine is trapped by the...more

I enjoyed this book. The storyline was interesting and I liked the idea behind the tattoo's and how they channel the magic.

There are parts of this story that I feel are missing. Large parts. I'm not sure if the author did that with the intention of giving more in the 2nd book. It seems like there is so much more to the back story (history) of the witches. With the preface, I expected the witches to have more to them, but it wasn't talked about or explained throughout the book.

I enjoyed the cha...more

Where do I begin? Ink is the first book I have read by Holly Hood and now I must read all her other books. Ink has it all suspense, romance, mystery and paranormal aspects.Hope was a normal teenager moving to a new area and she meets Slade. Where do I begin with Slade? He is the exact image in my head of a bad boy. I don't think there would have been anyway for Hope to not have fallen under Slade's spell. Slade was such a bad boy but still so sweet to Hope. It was no surprise to learn there was s...more
