Rosie Review
Taken from my blog @ http://rosiereview.wordpress.com/2012...

I did enjoy it. I loved how you were kept guessing about why Jimi never called Grace until the end of the book. I thought it was something to do with his exam results and his traditional father but no I was wrong. I wont tell you as I don’t like my reviews to be spoilers. I laughed in places and just as I thought it was getting slow we’d swap to another character and I’d find it hard to put it down. But that said I didn’t read it with...more

How do you know when someone is the right one?

I was looking for something really soppy, extremely sweet and amazingly romantic! And I think within this book, by Alexandra Potter, that I have found just what I was looking for!

Grace & Jimi knew each other back in high school, and to put it bluntly, Jimi shattered Grace's heart into a million pieces. Now, thirteen years later, Grace is engaged to Spencer, high flying, successful lawyer and Jimi is about to get married to his model-type fiance' K...more

It's a sweet, hopelessly romantic story that makes us feel warm and fuzzy inside, but that's just the problem; you know the kinds of things depicted here are too hopelessly romantic to happen in real life. Destiny and fate and second chances and finding the right person years after... it's all things I like to believe in but also probably only happen in a one in a million chance. It's fluffy and a nice read but that's about it. I guess sometimes my problem with stories like this is how convenien...more

This book made me happy.

At first I found it boring. Maybe because of the words and how I don't appreciate the writer's style of describing the scenario or the people in it rather than adding more chatting of characters. But As the story unfolds, I came to like it. i came to appreciate the story more. It's about, you know, finding your love. The right person for you. It actually teaches the readers to celebrate being a single rather than staying with the wrong person. Love will always find its way. It makes me want to w...more

Having read all of Alexandra Potter’s novels, I can confidently say that this is my favourite! I laughed, I cried, I saw shades of my won love life in her writing-in short, I loved it! And above all, I feel sure that anyone who has even the slightest romantic inclination within them will love it too!

The story centres around characters Grace and Jimi who have known each other since their schooldays. But also features their friends Rhian and Clive, and Grace’s work colleague Maggie. Amongst this h...more

I started this book believing it to be a chick-lit story of a single, thirty-something woman who wonders if her current relationship is heading nowhere. And it is, in part, that type of story. Even more so, however, it's a book about second chances, about finding out that there's more to life than stability, and that what you want and what you need are often two very different things.

Grace Fairley lives a life that many women would envy. She lives in South West London, has a so-handsome-it's-al...more

I picked this book out from a shelf at random and I did not have the highest expectations beforehand, I must admit. But when starting reading it, I found that I was enjoying it much like a romantic comedy. I never thought I would endure reading 400 pages of something like this, but the author writes so vividly and funny that the pages go fast. I also love the characters in this novel. They are recognisable in many ways although I do not feel much like any of them. I was surprised by how much I l...more

Enjoyable for the most part, but could have finished 150 pages before it did.
It followed the stories of several people, changing with each chapter. what that actually meant was that you would be really getting into one person's story, then the chapter would end and it would move onto someone else. A couple of chapters later the story was picked up again, by which point much of the suspense was lost. Very irritating, and not my favourite storytelling style.

This book is absolutely amazing book! Perhaps because I am the same age group as the main characters in the book or maybe because I am living my life very close to the story with a few variances. Except I haven't gotten to chapter 51 in my life yet. This is one of my ultimate top favorite books! If I were living in the states and read this book, some things I would not have understood or knew what they were, but after living in Kuwait, I understand and know what certain things are.

Before this, I've read Alexandra Potter's Me & Mr.Darcy, Who's That Girl and, You're The One I Don't Want. Then a few months ago, I went on a book rampage, buying all the paperbacks I could get, this one included.

In my opinion, this is by far Alexandra Potter's most romantic novel yet, not to mention the funniest. Since I've only read her 3 novels other than this one, I found it refreshing that Potter used various points of view in Do You Come Here Often? because she usually uses only the ma...more

LOVED LOVED LOVED THIS BOOK. Alexandra Potter made it possible for the characters' emotions to become my very own. I was totally absorbed in reading this book. I loved all the characters, how they were portrayed. It was amazing. A great read! I recommend it to anyone who is a huge hopeless romantic. I can't wait to buy more of Alexandra Potter's books.

So I just finished up this one a little while ago while sitting in a dentist's chair waiting for him to come in and give me a root canal. The receptionist wasn't sure why I was all teared up, when she came in with a form, when the drill hadn't even started!! I so hope this book gets made into an awesome chick flick movie because I am so sad to have reached the end of it. I LOVED it! The characters are great

I thought it was pretty shit, cheesy, etc... There were times when I enjoyed reading it, other times I was cringing. If I'm going to read a rom com novel then I expect a few more laughs than I got in this one. If you like this sort of thing... well, don't pick this one. Maybe her other novels are better?

I'd expected a lot from the book since I've read Who's that girl before this and it was a good read. But frankly I couldn't make past three chapters for Do you come here often. It was boring or maybe it just wasn't my type of books.

definitely a chic-lit. story was amazingly yet hopelessly romantic with a hint of flowing fuzzy, light and warm feeling. makes you feel and believe in the existance of true love though its not applicable in real life.
Yvonne
This was the 3rd Alexandra Potter books I've read & I enjoyed it tremendously. It's romantic how the radio station played a huge part throughout the entire story. I'm moving on to next Alexandra's book!
Cristina
I don't normally read chick-lit kind of books, i picked this up as it was discounted and i needed something to read on the train for the journey home. Surprisingly i really enjoyed it!!
Michaela
This book felt disjointed and had to many stories dumped into one which was a shame as I liked Maggies story and Clive/Rhians. I didnt much like Jimi/Graces. The end was just stupid too.

It's the first book I read from this author, and though I think the reasons Jimi used were quite, err, stupid, you just couldn't help but love the story...because it could be so real!
Kristen
This book was OK, I like british chick-lit and had some good references and funny british terms, but definitely adult language...not something I'd let my 16 year old read. The characters were very similar to "When Harry Met Sally" and I thought it was a little unoriginal when I read a word for word line from the movie in the book.

Hmm...it's not bad, but it drags on (esp in the middle) and I had to skip a few chapters to get through the book. It's okay, but it's not great.
Lily
I wasn't sure about Alexandra Potter after my half deception with Who's that girl? But I absolutely loved Do You Come Here Often? It was exactly what my incurably romantic soul needed!
Anna
This started off really quite slowly, I wasn't into it and got a bit bored....however it definitely got a lot better towards the end. It was predictable but the story was sweet (:
Lauren
Standard chick lit, but entertaining enough for it to be a quick, enjoyable read.

Grace is living the perfect life, she's engaged to a lawyer, Spencer. One thing leads to another and she starts to question if he is really Mr Right? after all.
"Do you come here often?" follows a group of people that are all connected to Grace Fairley, in some way or another.
I loved the story line and enjoyed all the character's, the only problem was that it jumped from one person to another without warning. Which I found made me get lost afew times. But I still found it a feel good book, Makin...more

Born in Bradford, Yorkshire, I graduated from Liverpool University with an honours degree in English Literature and Film Studies. In 1993, at the age of twenty-three, I moved to London to be the editor of a puzzle magazine. Yes, puzzles! For someone who can never get that last crossword clue, it was pretty daunting, but it was my first break into the world of magazines and publishing, and I loved...more
