I’ll admit that I can be rather snobby when it comes to historical romance. I’ve read a lot of good books and therefore tend to be hard on those books that don’t measure up. So, I went into reading this book with low expectations. But, I was pleasantly surprised with a well crafted story. Is it perfect? No. But it was an enjoyable read.

This author has done a great job of combining a very good Regency romance with an exciting and suspenseful mystery. The characters are well drawn and realistic with period, but easy to follow, dialogue. The plot is exciting and the author does a great job of building the suspense. I am a big fan of the Regency genre, and the author is very good at describing the settings and people of the era and making the reader feel as if she is right there with the main characters.
