I've been waiting for this book to come out for several months. While I waited, I enjoyed Gracen's Life Lessons, which are a free prequel to Pandora's Box and can be read on her blog: http://madisonroadtohell.blogspot.com/?z... It is not necessary to read the Life Lessons before you read PB, but I personally think that you will like the characters and understand the situations they are in more.

I read this book a few months ago, but didn't have time to leave a review. That the story is still fresh in my head confirms my previous rating.

I broke one of my reading 'rules' with this book, as I usually shy away from stories in which a main character is a young child. I hate it when bad things happen to kids. Mom thing, I suppose. That got switched up, and I found myself more concerned the child would do bad things to everyone else. :) Refreshing. Disturbing. Loved it!

OMG! I am totally in LOVE with this book! Gracen has some MAD writing skills.

Amos was creepy at first but totally turned into a kid I love like my own...not often I say that about a character in a book. Nix & Mads are...hum...how to word them...AWESOME. I don't think I've felt so deeply about any couple in my life. I quite literally yelled at some of the characters, and cried with them.

I probably should start this review with how I came to buy this book. I read Madison's Life Lessons as an ARC and I absolutely had to know more about the characters and what was happening in their lives. Generally, I have a $5 rule for book downloads. If a book costs more than $5 to down load, but has a real book available, I need to be patient and wait for it to arrive in the mail. That did not happen in this case. The best part of all of this hardship, is the fierce love and devotion Madison has for her son, despite he new homicidal hobby. A mother's love is the strongest bond in existance, and it was perfectly portrayed in this book. There were even times when I found myself as a mother questioning would I be able to go through everything she did and still show such an intense loyalty to protect her son. (I am sure that I would, but would rather my children not go demonic just to prove it) Madison is the type of woman any reader could relate to and admire. She is a strong southern debutante who can handle herself and would do anything to protect her son.
Enter Phoenix Birmingham. Talk about a guy that can raise a girl's temperature. He is fearless, sexy, sacastic, and willing to anything to protect Madison and her son. And behind his sultry, tough, and sarcastic exterior is huge heart that really cares for Madison, which is a huge step for him considering his Man-whorish nature. The sexual tension between him and Madison is thick enough to cut with a knife, and keeps you on the edge of you seat the entire book. You will consistently taunt yourself with the question "Will they or Won't they?"
This book was unlike anything you would expect. Just when you think that you have everything all figured out, everything goes all to hell (literally in some cases) and everything gets all turned around and leaves you guessing again. Madison's character keeps getting better and better as the book goes on. Things that would make a normal woman crumble into a psychotic blubbering mess only makes her stronger and a force to be reckoned with. She is a character you love right from the beginning and it only gets better. Miller doesn't shy away from topics and descriptions that may make certain readers shy away. She dives into "Hell" head first, and drags all of her readers down with her(in a good way). This book has thrills on every page, whether it be fighting for their lives, demonic activity, blood and gore, and occasionally something hot and steamy, and once you get started you will have trouble putting it down. This book and characters are forever stuck in my head and I am just itching to get my hands on the next one to find out what happens next!!!!!! I am a forever fan! (less)

Holy shit! Are you a fan of Laurell K. Hamilton or Sherrilyn Kenyon? Then you'll love Gracen Miller. Pandora's Box blew me away. I started reading it after supper, read most of the night, and in the morning, when I woke up, I stayed in bed and read until I finished. There was not one moment where I felt the need to skip over lines to get to a more exciting part.

I had heard from so many of my book friends that I needed to read this book. That I will get hooked from page 1 and love the ride it takes me on. Let me say they all were so right!! I had read Madison’s Life Lessons first it’s a prequel to PB. Not realizing it went to this book and fell in love with the characters. Although you don’t have to read it I suggest you do so you understand the growth with Madison.

Sooo much time passes in this book. I can't say I knew how much time passed by the end of this book. It took me a minute at one point to figure out a couple months had passed. This I believe was the first time change.
Madison was a strong and very unbelievably fast changing. One minute she's all demons aren't real the next I believe in them. I was happy to simply overlook that.
Now Nix and Micah. Woooow! One minute Micah was as nice ish. Next you get that nice tingly guy feeling - go die in a hole! Nix you just had mood swings.
The plot and story were amazing! I loved how the plot had theses dark twist and turns, and I'm like holy snap I saw that coming, yet I didn't. Those moments were fun to read.
Now Zen and Amos they were my favorite characters just had to have my saying.(less)

I was so excited when Pandora's box came out I couldn't wait to read it. Gracen Miller is an awesome author and she did not disappoint this book is AMAZING!! Ok. First of all let me say if you're not 18 and older, this is an adult content book! That being said...HOT DAMN was this book AMAZING!!! I am still trying to cool off after reading this book!! She rivals some of the most popular mainstream heroines in literature out there. At first I have to admit I had a huge issue with Madison, she wasn’t warning up to me and I was worried that the book would fall short because of my dislike of her. Well, I really should have known better than that. I felt the same way about Mac Lane in the first Fever Series books, and then what happens? I have a woman crush on Mac by the end of the series. Well, you have competition Mac because I’m opening the door for Madison to take your place.

The story was more of an evolution, rather than a flow. There were some slow bits, and mostly those were the bits where Nix wasn’t involved. Yes, I confess, where I thought he was highly immature at first I found myself needing him in every chapter or a got a bit antsy. Gracen managed to tug at every single emotional string that she could with this book. I never missed Micah, I wasn’t ‘into him’ which sort of shocks me because for the most part I usually fall for the bad boys. However, he pushes it for me one too many times. Granted, evil is evil, and only knows evil. Still, at the end there, when it is at the risk of Madison’s life, he falls on my bad list and I am fully siding with Nix.

However, Nix pushes it with me too. I found myself so at odds with his man-whoring side. But don’t get me wrong, without him living his life, the book and story wouldn’t have been ‘real’, he had to cope, and that is how Nix copes. He because a stable character for me, and by the end, I think I was crying through the last several chapters of the book. The moment the ‘deal’ was made, I knew that everything was about to change and I was sobbing. Oh, yes, I was sobbing. The book has epic written all over it, and if you want me to me honest, I started out this year with stating that nothing and I mean NOTHING would top the final book in the fever series. Well, Pandora’s Box just knocked it off. I am officially ruined, I believe.

I can’t get the story out of my head; I can’t stop thinking about what is next. It didn’t help that a new character was introduced at the very end. And let me tell you I wanted to hate Alessa so bad. She was smug, cocky, and called herself Nix’s ‘girl’ too and I wanted to demon shock her for Madison. However, if Madison can look past it and be adult about it despite her hurt at knowing the past Nix and Alessa hold. I can laugh at the smart mouth on Alessa. I mean come on; you totally need some humor if you are willingly going to go to hell. My God the last few lines of the book are totally brilliant!

Madison believed she’d try. “We have bigger problems than your behavior. I only know of one way to get a living person into Hell with any hope of coming out alive.” “How?” “You won’t like it,” Madison said. Alessa shrugged. “You’ll have to sell me your soul.” TO BE CONTINUED

What a ride?!?! Gracen Miller delivers an outstanding first book of the Road to Hell series.

Best part of the book: I am going to say the best part of the book is the suspense of the story. I was constantly wondering what was action-packed scene would be coming up next and how will it end? Madison has quickly grown into the role of STRONG FEMALE! With each chapter she became stronger and more determined. Then there is Nix! Hello, hotness! Madison and Nix make a great team! OMG! This book was SO good! I really hope that it is printed soon! So I read Madison's Life Lessons and when I finished I thought "Holy Hell!! If that was the prequel, I cannot wait to see what the first book holds!". I really enjoyed this book! I would say it's a 4.5 (I wish Goodreads had 1/2 star ratings, but...)

This book moves at a really fast pace. You are quickly drawn into the world of the characters, and those characters are wonderfully developed. The second half of the book jumps forward in time a lot. I'm not sure what the reason for that is other than the characters get older. I'm guessing this will come into play a little more in the next book. I can't wait for the next book!!! :)

I'm really puzzled as to the number of 5 star reviews for this book...no, it's not horrible but I can't be the only one who didn't like it! I felt like this book jumped around a lot and with no explanation or apparent reason. We'd switch scenes with no warning and new characters would come and go with little to no explanation. It didn't create a mystery, it was just confusing. It wasn't just once or twice that I was lost or confused as to what was going on, it was at least twice a chapter.
