I really love this book. I just read it again, for the love of it. The story is strong, and flows well, and resolves in a satisfying way (I love it when a book *satisfies* that story-hunger). The characters are believable and likeable.
I am so, so glad that I read it the first time. And the second.
This is one of those books that stays with you forever, and little things in life bring it to mind, and it makes you stonger and braver.

A courageous girl fights incredible odds, in an alternate reality much like the Pacific Northwest. Strong themes about race and culture - when to hold onto yours, and when to fight for more. Plus, lots of action and a quirky romance!

This book is morally sound while being very entertaining and romantic. The only negative aspect was a little too much superstition.
