Cobbogoth (Cobbogoth #1)
To seventeen-year-old Norah Lukens, the Cobbogothians were just a myth. But after her archeologist uncle’s brutal murder, and being asked to translate one of his old research journals for evidence, she begins a journey to discover the truth for herself.
Chasing the myth her uncle was obsessed with, Norah learns that his murder was a cover up for something far more sinister...more

The whole Icelandic mythology was nice and very descriptive, a great support and base for the rest of the series. However, I didn't really fall in love with any of the characters because the author didn't give them enough credence to really grasp hold of the connections/relationships they have with each other. I really wish it was more of a character-driven novel but I understand why so much of the history and background story was given in the first book of the series. I think that if the author...more

I love mythology, but what I enjoy even more is when an author creates their own myth and a world all out of their imagination. Hannah Clark crafted a myth about the Cobbogothians, a race of magical beings who lived in a hidden world. I have to admit that when I first read the synopsis up there; I thought to myself that this would be one of those books that I would put on the back burner and will eventually get to hopefully, but when Teen Book Scene decided to put together a tour and asked if I wanted on it; I said yes. When I received the book I just set it off to the side and looked at it every now and then. I really didn't know how to approach it, but sure enough it kept calling to me and I eventually opened it up. And the...more
I love the Cobbogoth myth from Iceland. It was very interesting and I think it’s interesting that the author took this old myth and created this fabulous story. In this story, Norah is the niece of an archeological myth chaser. Her uncle spends his time locating and proving that things we believe are myths are real, such as Isis’ legendary amulet. However Norah is totally not prepared for what she learns when she graduates from High School.

This book is a great read I bought it on my nook and finished it in one sitting. I am normally not a reader of this genre how ever I was persuaded by a few good friends to give this book a shot. I was sucked in after the first chapter i couldnt put it down because i wanted to see what happened next. The story is unpredictable and fun to follow. I cant want to see more of what Clark has to offer ini the Cobbogoth series. If you like fantasy books this is a great one to read. If you arent into fan...more
The Icelandic mythology and magical race called the Cobbogothians that Ms. Clark created was profoundly interesting and intriguing. And, I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. There was plenty of mystery, suspense, romance and danger.
Norah's character was very likeable--she was intelligent, strong, independent and feisty. And, she used her smarts effectively to try and solve the mystery of her uncle's horrendous murder. James was a bit of a mystery at first and some of his actions raised a lot of ques...more

A refreshing, innovative adventure that was so enjoyable to read. I felt like I was going on a grand quest with the main character.
The main character of Norah was likeable as the heroine. What I liked about her was that she instantly knew that she had to do something. The dreams were very telling and visions of her future or possible future. There is also a tremendous about back story about the myth of this ancient/myth of Cobbogothians. A race of people that may or may not be extinct. I love...more

I love when books can be categorized as "mythology" or a "fairy tale" even when they're 100% out of the author's own imagination with no reliance on a traditional tale. For me, this is COBBOGOTH. It creates its own mythology and makes you feel as though Cobbogothians are real. It makes you want to look up tales about this race of people and hea...more

This is a great book!!! Everyone go read it. . . right now. I first heard about Cobbogoth when Hannah Clark, the author, contacted me. I then went to her website, hannahlclark.com, and read the first two chapters of the book. I was hooked! This was a few months ago so I was really looking forward to the book release earlier this month.
This read took my emotions on a roller coaster ride. I was happy, sad, heart-broken, excited, betrayed, scared, nervous, angry, ecstatic. Norah was a normal 17-yea...more

A fast, gripping read. My one complaint is the frequency with which Norah either loses consciousness or threatens to, tiresome. (I'm not referring to her "visions") I like my protagonists to have a stronger constitution. Other than that, I applaud Cobbogoth's exciting imagery and brilliant imagination.
I really enjoyed this book!!! Young adult books are my favorite, and this did not disappoint. Getting the whole scoop on the Icelandic mythology took a lot of the book's time, but by the end I was truly beginning to love the characters. I was also excited to learn about a different set of myths and legends, truly refreshing. Norah is on my list of greats as far as heroines go, and I am very excited to keep the story going with the second book!!! Hurry up Hannah ;)

The first night I started this book, I had planned on just reading the first chapter or two. At 2am and 112 pages later, I made myself put the book down and get some sleep so I could function the next day, but if I had no responsibilities I would have kept reading all night! Completely gripping story!
