The first thing that Elliott gets right is the format. Digital books are not constrained by printing demands which means that it can be as long or as short as the author dares.
The second thing is the discreet satire of the text as Elliott explains basic concepts while revealing the considerable absurdity of the game. A highly enjoyable trawl through the perhaps surprisingly poetic language of football Spanish-style, this book is reviewed more fully at the soccer blog, The Two Unfortunates, here .
I wrote this, so I'm biased. But, in all seriousness, Brian's foreword and Erik's artwork are fantastic.
