This is the 3rd book in the Midnight Hunters series. Be sure to read Books 1 & 2 first!

Niki, Sylvan’s chief protector and #2 in Pack hierarchy, has been the unenviable sidekick of the series so far. In love with Sylvan all her life, she’s watched Sylvan mate with Drake, and she is now sworn to protect the woman she'd once wanted to kill to protect Sylvan, the Pack…and perhaps her own heart.

While each of the characters in this series has very unique characteristics, Niki is the most unique fo

Niki is not my favorite character but I was glad to see her with Sophia. Sylvan and Drake's story continues and I have yet to grow tired of them. This book isn't quite as good as the first two (likely because of my opinion about Niki) but still an excellent read. Kudos to Radclyffe for this fantastic storyline. I am in awe.

I liked the first book in this series enough to read the other two (currently) sequels. But I think I'm ending this with book three. I don't find any of the characters particularly fleshed out (no description exists beyond hair and sometimes eye color, certainly no one has any thoughts about what is being given up or consequences of turning), almost all the dialogue could be interchangeable between any of the characters, many of them share identical hard knock life back stories (daddy issues, ab ...more
I was wondering if L.L. Raand was following this werewolf and vampire personality stereotypes throughout the whole series. For example, every werewolf characters would act in this kind of wild, in-heat, agitate, aggressive, and over-protective kind of personality (excepted Sophia). Then every vampire characters would act in this kind of calm, elegant, aloof, bore, dark kind of personality. There are exceptions of course, but those exceptions are not much. It's like a recycled personality of one ...more

This is the third book in L.L. Raand's Midnight Hunters series and I have yet to tire of the storyline or the characters. Each successive book has maintained the central story of Sylvan and Drake but adds a new couple to focus on as well. In book two it was Jody and Becca and in book three it is Niki and Sophia. I was very excited to see what would potentially develop between them as I think Niki and Sophia are two of the more dynamic characters. Sylvan and Drake are my favorites, though, and I ...more

This series took me by surprise and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The ending of this book took me by surprise I wasn't ready for it to end and found myself flicking the kindle back and forth looking for more. The Nikki character is growing on me and was nice to see her come into her own a bit more. Would have loved more Becca and Jody definitely my favourite characters. Bring on the next one!

Night Hunt is the third in L.L. Raand's Midnight Hunters series and picks up the story immediately where Blood Hunt ended. Like the preceding book the story concerns Sylvan Mir's Timberwolf pack and the struggles that they face now that the world is aware of the Preatern species.

This time the focus is on Nikki Kroff who is the imperator of the pack and is second only to Alpha Mir herself. After event involving Lara in Blood Hunt, Nikki finds herself almost addicted to giving blood to vampires. H

While I generally enjoy most everything that L.L. Raand writes, I must say that this novel was not as good as her previous two in the series. The plot, while excellent in the previous two books, seems to have slowed to a crawl in this edition. The book takes place the day after the last one ended and seems to only span a day or two. Perhaps this is what is needed to advance the story and I am being impatient. I normally devour a novel by this author in two to three days, if I have plenty of read ...more
It's been a long time since I come across 2 series I really like and Midnight Hunter series is one of them. I love how the series showcase the relationship dynamics between 2 people. Being dominant or being stronger do not give peope the excuse to be an unreasonable ass and need to have everything to go their ways. There's a different between behaving and acting in a certain way willingly when you come to like someone, and being push headlong to match others' expecations and speed. There's other ...more
DNF at %20 through.

There are just too many inconsistencies for me to continue with this series. I'm reading these one after the other, and it really feels like Radclyffe barely looks at her notes before she starts writing the next one. Personalities change, "rules" about vampires seem to change, things that are said to have happened in previous books actually didn't (Drake and Sophia were not friends back when Drake was human. They were acquaintances at best.), etc. It comes off as really poorl

Gets better!

And better. The series is exciting, inspiring and has everything if not more you could want. Radclyffe is an excellent and exhilarating author. Her descriptions put you right there along with a little imagination. I guess you could read these individually but I wouldn't advise it. So far all three books are linked and make an intriguing and truly amazing story. I would love to live in Radclyffe's head for a day. Ok that sounded better in my head. Read you'll love it..

I'm addicted to this series. I absolutely love the strong female characters, and the aggressive sexual energy between the were characters and vampires. These books are extremely well written. LL Raand (Radclyiffe) is easily becoming one of my favorite authors. The way she describes her characters feelings, emotions and acts is addicting. I'm about to start on the forth book, The Lone Hunt, and I'm eager to see how all of this Preternatural business ends. Highly recommended!

eh..... I like the series over all but its got some issues. L.L. Rand picks some weird ass spots to end the books for one. For the second big issues, the characters are really kind of blah in this book. Just another case of a supernatural being that thinks they are a terrible monster and don't deserve to be loved blah blah emo theatric shit... still on to book four I go.

I rated this book as a three stars (quite good for my average rating) not for the grammar or the specific weight of the main characters but because I found what I was looking for: an extremely erotic fantasy book involving strong femmes and supernatural phenomenon… Instead the vampire story leaks a little and I preferred the werewolves pack. In my opinion: Best of the series.

Ugh, I am not looking forward to the cliff hanger of the most recent installment =/ Meanwhile Jodi's voice and the one point during the many sex and fondling scenes where I thought ""jeez they're acting like animals and then I was like oh...wait" hahahahaha

alright she tried to stuff this baby full jam packed with way too much violence and sex going from one encounter to another more like an anthology. this dampened the effect the story had on me reading it even though it was obvious she was trying to up the ante at every turn.
