The plan was simple: show everyone how brilliant she really is. Fast forward past everything going horribly wrong to where Hailey is now… dying. The only upside left is the gorgeous mind reader who seems to have trouble staying out of her most unguarded fantasies. Too bad he’s dragging her back to the one place she doesn’t want to go.

The plan is never simple – and this new

I have the wonderful privilege of reviewing Blood Trails by Alianne Donnely. This story starts out a bit differently than the first book: Blood Moons. I was already introduced to Agent Jeremy Calen and Dr. Amelia Chase, in the first book of this series. Through this second book, Blood Trails, I find myself on a journey of discovery and determination with Agent Calen, as he is hired to find Dr. Chase’s missing sister; Hailey. Hailey has gotten herself into quite a difficult situation, and Agent C ...more

Hailey has decided that she is going to do an extremely dangerous thing. She is going to do it to herself so perhaps she justifies that it is okay to do this, she isn’t harming anyone but herself. She’s read all the data about what she is experimenting with. Her sister is the main scientist behind this experiment. Per the blurb Hailey just wants to “show everyone how brilliant she really is.” All Hailey showed me was how reckless and immature she is. Her actions drag Jeremy into her life and dow ...more
I have big mitigated feelings about this book. The pros are nearly all in favour of Jeremy and how stubborn, sweet and protective he is. Cons are related to Hailey. I just didn't get her AT ALL. She has a nice life, no close relationship with her sister but this is both their fault, not only Amelia's in my opinion, and she suddenly decides to inject herself to become a shape shifter. All to spite her sister, which is pretty stupid to begin with. Then she doesn't cope at all, reject her animal ha ...more

Honestly, I found it hard to like Hailey. I was a bit confused as to why she injected herself and how an obviously very smart but very unqualified person thought she could tamper with her qualified, Scientist sister's experiments and expect to come out alive. The dynamics there just didn't gel for me. However, I enjoyed the general storyline. There's lots of action and I particularly like the fact that Hunt and Hayley don't get along, despite their similar plight. Another great read from Alianne ...more
Loved this book. Hailey is such a firecracker I love that she keeps Jeremy on his toes and that Jeremy helps to ground Hailey. There is passion and suspense in this book. You might even shed a tear or yell at it at some points I know I did. Cannot wait to see what comes next in the series. Love it great job.
Another great paranormal book!

Another great paranormal book!

I have really grown to love this author's writing style and world building. the world's she creates are so out there that you can't help but be amazed. her characters are likeable and relatable.
I read this right after the first book and it just didn't hold the same fire... I loved Jeremy but just could not connect with Haily. It wasn't anything wrong that I can put my finger on... Just wasn't the first book which I just loved.

Blood Trails beautifully illustrates how opposites attract! I loved the fun ending.

Alianne is an avid lover of stories of all kinds. Having grown up with fairy tales in a place where it almost seemed they were real, it was no surprise when she began making up her own stories. She loves books, music, hiking, and archery, and won't shy away from travel and zip lining. Alianne graduated with a business degree and when she's not off in the land of fantasy, she lives in California.
