Hi All,

So I might be a bit biased. I am the author and this is my baby. So yes, I love it. This book was a world-wide collaboration. I really mean that. People from all over the world stepped up to help me bring this story to life. Betas, mentors, readers, librarians, and even agents offered encouraging words of wisdom during this journey. They saw the potential even when I sometimes felt like giving up. At the end of the day, it will all boil down to you...my beautiful readers, and loyal fans....more

**I received this book by the author for an honest review**

I had a hard time deciding on my rating for this book so I have settled on 2.5 stars.

Pros: The first few chapters of this book sounded promising. Did I like it at first yes! It had Angel's,Bad Angel's,Magician's,Trackers and some other cool ideas. The Main character was a girl and she had a twin brother which was another plus for me(if you know me you know why :D ). I also liked the mystery of what happened or what was happening to her b...more

Sixteen-year-old Chela Prizeon wants to save her brother, and in doing so she gets mixed up with fallen angels, good guys and bad guys.

I loved this book! I loved loved loved it! The whole universe that is created is amazing, and how everything works such as the political business, occupations, the abilities various people possesses. It is just so amazing!

For once I did not dislike the main character! It is a fault in me to almost always hate the main character but yet I did not :D ! And I loved...more

Chela is a teenager who lives in a post-apocalyptic world. A world where the angels tried to kill off all the humans but the angels lost the war and, now, trying to disguise the fact that they have special powers, they try to hide themselves amongst the human survivors because anyone caught practicing magic is summarily executed. Outside the city's reinforced walls, life is tough. Most of the survivors live in underground caves to escape the fall-out and disease that has plagued them since the w...more

First Line: 'My brothers hand twitched. It was the first time he'd moved in almost a year. Micah was in a coma. He lay in his bed, sightless eyes staring upward. Tubes attached to his arms, legs, and head led to a life-support system. My chest ached, stomach rolled, and grief was a bomb waiting to explode inside me.'
This first few lines drew me right in, how did Chela's brother end up in a coma? This is the question that eventually draw...more

Guys, I am reading When Copper Suns Fall and I was hooked from the beginning; I am thoroughly falling into Chela’s world! Chela is smart, courageous, and relentless in saving her brother! The girl is fearless!
Of course I love the scenes with the pulse racing Faris…(Another author taking a page from …Indie writers 101:(How to make heart stopping hotties?:)

Must read..go get it!:)

As I started reading, I was instantly drawn in. The main character thinking that she saw her comatose brother’s hand move was just that right emotional pull to get me interested. Unfortunately, my interest was brought to a screeching hault soon after that. The author never went into any detail as to how their society came to be, what the “Great War” was all about. I was so confused by the terminology that it was hard for me to make sense of the story. After reading more, I soon figured out that...more

I'm actually surprised at myself at how fast I read this book lol. I guess it's because it's on my iPad. It's happened before. ;P Another reason is probably because this book was so wonderful. Especially unique. I loved everything about it! The only thing I didn't like about it is Seth. Blah. I just don't know my feelings about him just yet. But Faris....oh Faris. He makes me go asdfghjkl;. ;P

Again, this book way absolutely awesome. I also loved that this took place in North Carolina, where me a...more

As I started reading, I was instantly sucked into the story. The main character thinking that she saw her comatose brother’s hand move was just that perfect draw to suck me in, then add the doctor taking her brother away and not listening yep I was hooked. But, unfortunately I quickly lost interest. The author never went into any detail as to how their society came to be, what the “Great War” was all about. All we do know is that the society they are now living in is what I would classify as a n...more

I am very surprised for the 4 stars I gave this book. I can honestly say it deserved it. There were elements in the plot and the characters that annoyed me, but the good and positive side of the story easily outweigh the negatives.

I was also surprised at the pace in which I finished this book. I read non-stop since the first weekend I acquired this book, delayed a bit during week days because of school, and retaking it again once the weekend started. Eager to finish it, not to know what will ha

So I first notice this book back when I first learn about how many contest there was on Twitter. I saw the cover of the book and it caught my interess. I wondered what kind of book was this to have a ugly statue on the cover. So I read the summery of the book and I wanted to read this book right away. I wanted to read it dispite how I felt on angel YA novels and I never read a Dystopian novel before either. (well once "Handmaid's tale" but I only read summery of each chapter) I started to say to...more

When Copper Suns Fall book 1 of The Lost Immortals by Kasonndra Leigh

Rating 4.5 stars

This book was provided free from the author in exchange for honest literary review.

Chela has a story like no other. Set in post apocalyptic America in the future, this book is more than what it seems. While it focuses on one teenage girl and her destiny to become the balance between difference sects of angels, it also has symbolic gestures of sociopolitical importance.
While Chela's self discovery is the drivi...more

I liked the book in the beginning and it had definite potential. I don't usually like reading dystopian-type books, but the appeal of angels and the future really drew me in. The characters were rock-solid and the emotions of despair, rage, and confusion from the main character, Chela was brilliant. But after the first 50 pages my mind started to become tangled until all that came out was a big: huh?? in the end.

1. Too many characters

I had trouble keeping track of all the characters that were in...more

My Review:

I'm very hot and cold on this book. On one hand, the story is compelling. I was intrigued and captivated by the story itself. On the other hand, the actual telling of the story fell a bit flat for me.

I loved the premise of this book. I was crazy intrigued and the cover just had me hooked. The book has many solid characters with depth. I did think that several players were overly manic and not all their actions fit their charact...more

This is a really difficult review for me to write. I really enjoyed the characters and was able to connect with them. But, the story was so fast that at times I felt a little bit lost and had to really pay close attention to everything that was going on in the story to understand what had happened next.

The book is a dystopian that starts off in the year 2067, which is 55 years after the Tidal Wars. Chela is visiting her brother in what seems to be a hospital. He had an accident and everyone clai...more

When Copper Suns Fall is urban fantasy set within a dystopian society, 55 years hence, in an America that had had been engulfed in the Tidal Years, a great heavenly battle that changed the world. As a result the Nation of Corunum was created, a typically rigid dystopian society based on strict adherence to laws and customs provoking feat and distrust, governed by a questionable and unbending leadership, called the Tribunal. Survival is only ensured by conformity.

I started reading this book blind. KaSonndra sent me a message, asking if I could read her book and post my thoughts on it.

I did just that. I didn't look at the cover or read the summary, the synopsis, or even the title until it popped up on my Kindle.

May I just say: the first page drew me in. It offered a slight insight to the world this novel was set in, but didn't give enough information for the reader to know already what was going to happen.

Things I liked:

My Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Disclaimers: I received a electronic copy of this novel from the author in exchange for my honest opinion.

My Overall Thoughts/Impressions: This is the first novel I've ever read about angels and so I didn't know what to expect. The synopsis sounded intriguing and so I was excited to read it.

What I didn't expect was to be blown away. This was one of those novels that left me captivated from the very first to the very last page. Everything about this novel drew me i...more

The Lost Immortals:This is not your typical post- apocalyptic/dystopian book. Oh no, there are good and bad angels, ugly yellow-eyed spiky

backed droolie dog looking things, magic, love, and hot guys. Got your attention yet? Good because there is a whole lot more where

that came from.

well I'm not sure how to write this review without confusing others and myself. I liked what I understood but most of it I had to read and then reread and then reread again to understand. I dont consider myself stupid so to have to reread that many times gave me a complex :(

With that said, this is what I think I might have gotten from this book.

Chela, half angel half human is hidden in the world of humans who frown upon angels and the like. Her twin brother Micah is in a coma and she wants to s...more

This book captured me from the beginning. KaSonndra Leigh created a world that was completely believable, adding a paranormal twist that was wildly original and interesting. Chela was a very strong and stubborn lead character, with a heart of gold... a perfect combination for the role she assumed in this book. Faris was quite a mystery to me, and I was just as frustrated with the lack of information he passed as Chela was. He was an excellent broody, angsty character who loved Chela with all tha...more

I won this book in a member Librarything giveaway in exchange for an honest review.

This book is about a girl, Chela, who is related to the angels and is trying to solve the mystery of her brother's accident. She meets a lot of characters along the way and has powers that she never knew she had.

I am breaking my own rule when rating this book. I admit I was unable to finish it. Usually when that happens, I give a book one star. However, the strength in this book is the fact that it is obvious that...more

This is a book that had a lot going for it, but didn't quite deliver.

The story idea was intriguing and had really great potential. Again we have fallen angels and their half-human offspring, but this book took a different approach than others I have read so far that use the same theme. There was the possibility to create a really wonderful world full of engaging characters, but the story just missed the mark somehow.

The main issue, I think, was the lack of background information. It would have b...more

Given the chance to read this book after seeing it and going to myself "this seems good" I nearly fainted, dramatically styled! I started off reading it going ". . .Hum- where is this going?" It seemed to dull down at points, even though the book started off grabbing my attention with "My brothers hand twitched." It rather got me all excited, then seemed to fade out into less interesting things yet vital parts to the story. I quickly got wrapped back into the book at the mention of healers, illu...more

Wow! This was such a great book! It took me a while to figure out what was going on in this world because everything was so different, but once I got my bearings, I loved it so much! KaSonndra Leigh really creates such a rich, and detailed world that it is insane to think that it used to be the United States. It's so different. I especially loved how everything was there for a reason, every person, every place, and every item came into play later on in the book. And not always in the ways that I...more

When Copper Suns Fall takes place in a world that was destroyed when two groups of angels waged war against each other. 55 years after the Tidal Years, in the year 2067, humans have rebuilt, but the angel-bloods, descendants of the angels, have to hide who they are, because any angel-blood and those associated with them are immediately executed.

Although believed to have been extinct since the end of the war, the Caduceans and the Tainteds...more

I was very excited to read this debut novel. The brief description of this story related to a genre that I enjoy reading. So I began this novel with a degree of excitement to see if it could deliver.
I was instantly caught up from the first page, when the story begins to Chela seeing her ill and comatose brother’s hand move. The following scenes of her ardent pleas to have that small movement acknowledged by her brother’s caregivers, and the resulting threat-like conversation wit...more

I fell in love with this story right away. The author's writing is so expressive, it wasn't hard to fall into her world and get wrapped up in the mystery and suspense surrounding Chela. The secondary characters were pretty well flushed out also I'd like to say there were two main characters to this book Chela and Farris, but her two friends (she calls them the Bermuda Three)and some of the other characters were just as involved. This book starts out with Chela breaking one rule after another she...more

I wasn't draw into the book immediately. I had a hard time picturing the descriptions the author was describing. Unfortunately for me, I really wanted to like this book. Some parts felt rushed, some parts flushed out nicely. The lack of clear descriptions left me unable to picture what the author was describing. This was very frustrating for me and I struggled to "get into" the book.

The book lacks background information about the "Great War" and the lack of vivid descriptions about places left...more

The story idea was intriguing and had really great potential, but the story just missed the mark somehow.
The main issue, I think, was the lack of background information. Things were referred to, but never fully explained I got the gist of what was going on but the majority of the time I felt partially lost, like there were pages ripped out here and there and I needed to try and fill in all the blank spots but the in...more
