April, has her own newspaper column, lives with her boyfriend and all she should be worried about is her nosey neighbors. Her neighbors though takes nosey to a whole new level, with police investigations into dead squirrels and screams lead to more than one late night neighborhood meetings on the lawn. But, at least it is something in the small town to keep April busy and looking over her shoulder. More than just the takes with her sister, Jessica, who is asking questions that is making April re

Oh Kathleeen Kole, you have done it again...you have given me another fun filled read, an adorably charming chick-lit novel. I love the character of April Patterson. I think of all the books I have reviewed this year, this is the one that I identified with the most. Accused by her sister, Jessica, of letting her life live her instead of the other way around, April evidently has a history of bouncing from one situation to the next. I can relate, most definitely.

What would you do if you moved from a big city to a small town where your neighbors are nosy, meddling and just plain weird? What if you had to play "dodge the neighbor" every time you stepped outside your door? What if you thought that moving in with your boyfriend was a good thing, but now you find yourself reconsidering this decision, especially if you find yourself attracted to the male house guest your boyfriend brought home? This is what April Patterson's life is like when she le

Kathleen Kole is on tour with CLP Blog Tours. April Patterson is starting to seriously question her move to Boxwood Hills. The sleepy little suburban town has her dodging her kooky and overly-nosy neighbors, gives her a mystery involving said neighbors and a dead rodent, and leads her relationship with boyfriend Kevin down an unknown path. The bright side to moving? April gets to spend more time with her sister Jessica. Jessica is needed when the mystery deepens, stalkers become involved, and Ap

April has just moved in with her boyfriend and finds that the neighborhood has residents that are nosey, eccentric and dramatic. Nothing goes unnoticed in her neighborhood and when a dead rodent is found in the trash can of the drama queen all H*** breaks loose.
To make things more dramatic, just as April is starting to settle into her new life a handsome stranger enters and suddenly April is questioning whether she wants to spend the rest of her life with boyfriend or give in to her d More...

I really liked this book. Normally, I’m a little hesitant about books that involve people who are attracted to someone who isn’t their significant other, but this book is just too hilarious for words.
Every scene with “Dodge the Neighbor” is awesome. The neighbors are completely oblivious to their own ridiculousness. Who hasn’t had a neighbor like that? And each neighbor is so nosy. You kind of want to smack them, but at the same time I couldn’t get enough of those scenes becaus More...

The novel had an interesting story line with the neighbors. Kathleen Kole writes realistic characters that you feel that you can identify with. I thought the premise for this novel is interesting using a neighborhood that you and I would know from where we live. There are some real characters in this book. I could easily see myself in the story. I found it hard to love the character of April because of some of the choices she chooses to make. To me this is a sign of good writing where

Dollars to Donuts is a fun tale set in a neighborhood that most people can relate to - complete with intrusive neighbors, good-looking temptations, and misunderstandings. Kathleen has a smooth style of writing and good dialogue that makes Dollars to Donuts a fun read.
