As always, Dakota Cassidy delivers a paranormaly romantic punch with the newest in her "Accidental" series, Accidentally Dead, Again. I started this book and was thinking been there done that. But I kept at it because Dakota Cassidy gives Nina such great dialog. But somewhere along the way the story became totally fun and different. WTG Dakota Cassidy!

Not that the other five books were crap (not in the slightest), but this book had the biggest twists, turns and surprises. Dakota Cassidy, as always, brings back some of the series' character favorites, which always makes me happy. With Accidentally Dead, Again, there are some brilliant new dynamics and concepts that we, as the readers, aren't used to.

Not that the other five books were crap (not in the slightest), but this book had the biggest twists, turns and surprises. Dakota Cassidy, as always, brings back some of the series' character favorites, which always makes me happy. With Accidentally Dead, Again, there are some brilliant new dynamics and concepts that we, as the readers, aren't used to.

We have not one, but two, paranormal newbies entering the "OOPS fold" in this novel, one of them being Nina's half-sister, Phoebe Reynolds. Along with Phoebe, we meet Sam, the "Bug Guy". The two lead characters in the story are charming. Phoebe is almost identical to Nina, which I was excited about. Nina is easily one of my favorite characters in the Accidentals series and a "mini-me" was quite sweet to read. Not only were the similarities entertaining to read, but more than anything, I think, it was such a refreshing moment to see Nina so vulnerable. She finally has family outside of Lou in her life and it was very nice - those moments between them.

Not to mention Phoebe's best friend, Mark, who's gayer than the Fourth of July and absolutely precious to read.

I think what made this book so great to me were the surprises. I find Cassidy's predictable plot rather comforting and familiar and she definitely threw in some wrenches and surprises that I couldn't have called if I tried. Sam's biggest surprise had me literally pausing in my journey to finish the book. I was very impressed. Phoebe's surprise was much more heartfelt and personal, which definitely brought in that "family" aspect we always get from Cassidy's work in this series. And, she also throws in the return of a character long-forgotten that I couldn't have picked out as villain, either.

With so many charming characters to return - Darnell, Arch, Lou, etc. - and pop-culture references galore - Twilight, Supernatural, The X-Files, etc. - Accidentally Dead, Again has such a "current" vibe that I felt almost disappointed when it ended, only because I know I have to wait until November for the next one. I definitely, as always, recommend this series to anyone looking for a good laugh, good times, and great writing.(less)

OOPS helps new paranormals adjust to their new lives and talents but things go very wrong when long lost sister shows up and Sam accidentally bites her.

Phoebe Reynolds went to OOPS to find her half sister that she never knew about not to be turned into a creature of the night. Now with Sam and the ladies of OOPS they must figure out why the two new vampires have powers no one else has. When other vampires start dying horrible deaths the group must find out who’s trying to make a super race of vampires and how to stop others from dying. Working so close together Sam and Phoebe soon are struggling to keep their hands off one another but they have to learn to trust each other and finally share the secrets that could change everything.

Accidentally Dead, Again is one of the funniest books I’ve read in a very long time. This was my first experience reading anything from Dakota Cassidy and after reading ADA I am going to read all the books in the series. Even though this is the sixth book in the Accidentally Friends series I had no problem jumping feet first into the crazy world of OOPS and not feeling lost. From the very beginning the book is full of snark and it keeps going until the very last page. This keeps things fun and kept me snickering the entire time.

Sam MCLean is a nerdy scientist who get bitten after a one night stand on Halloween but Sam has lots of skeletons in his closet and is not at all what he seems. I loved Sam, especially since he wore a cowboy hat and was a geeky nerd or so I thought. Even though most of the snark was left to the ladies Sam has some great one liners and I loved him and Phoebe together. The chemistry between the two is smoking hot and it never felt forced or too cheesy.

Phoebe took me by surprise and I ended up really liking her. At first she comes off as a ditzy, fashion princess but we soon discover she is one tough cookie with a mean streak. Nina who has been in previous books and is one of the members of OOPS is Phoebe’s half sister and a vampire. The relationship between these two is a big part of the book and the battles of words these two have is amazing. Some of the things these two fling at each other had me laughing out loud and unable to stop.

I only had two problems with ADA and one isn’t even very big. My small problem was I had no idea where the three ladies of OOPS, who are all married, husbands were at during this time. It really confused me and I kept thinking “why isn’t Nina’s husband here trying to save her half sister?” I just found it really strange. My biggest problem was with Nina and how horrible she was to everyone. Maybe I need to read her book to better understand her but there were many times when I was praying that Phoebe would clock her and make her shut up. I might have missed something but after a while her I’m-broken-and-mean attitude got on my nerves.

This was such a fun book and I am so happy I found a snarky new series to read. I highly recommend the Accidentally Friends series to all fans of paranormal romance and this book especially. I haven't had this much fun reading a book in a very long time.(less)

Best of the Accidental series.
Nina has a new sister, and guess what? Phoebe is a new accidental vampire as well. Nina is at her sarcastic best with help from Marty, Wanda, and newbie Sam to find out who is creating vampires and why those new vampires are dying.
Cassidy hits the mark with her snarky, sarcastic, very entertaining voice.
Caution: Nina is very good at swearing so don't read this if you are easily offended by that type of dialog.

I was not a fan of Phoebe, but I loved Sam. I would have liked it if the husbands had had more of a role in this book, since they hardly make any appearances after their own HEA. Sadly, I was disappointed in that regard as Keegan only showed up at the very end and the other men only got a small mention. Still, the writing is fun and fast paced and overall enjoyable.

I love this series!! I was laughing from the first sentence on. It was fun, it was funny and once again I fell in love with the characters. Each time I read one of these books, I feel like I'm visiting friends. Nina, Marty and Wanda are always there and always make me laugh. Phoebe will be a great addition to the group.

OK, I guess I'll just have to say it. Dakota Cassidy is freakin' fantabulous! Her stories are like some otherworldly kind of crack ~ I am totally addicted! I liked the plot line of this more than of the last two. Catty was just a too far fetched, even for paraChicklit. Anyway, that the characters were more realistic and deeper helped move this book into a more realistic place than her previous Accidentally books. I liked it. A lot!

This one would have been better for me had abrasive Nina not been so front and center. I have grown tired of her and how she swears worse than a sailor and hates everything.

I did like both Sam and Phoebe and found it interesting that they both were hiding big things. I laughed with how Sam made Phoebe a vampire, I would hate to admit how it happened had it been me.

I think the best part of the book was the epilogue. It showed how everyone in the series is just one big family.

This series is starting to wear on me. I've NEVER heard 30-year old women try so hard to sound like they were teenagers. All of the acronyms (WTF, OMG, BFF, etc) and one-liners are on overload. I seem to remember it not being quite so bad at the beginning of the series and wish the author would tone it down. All of that nonsense really got in the way of me enjoying the story.
