Won on Goodread's first reads giveaways. Hope it is good. My full name is Mary Elizabeth and I'm married to Greg- better not let down our names.

Update 11/21/11: We have all heard you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. Metaphorically, this is good advice. Literally, it's a rule I love to break. I am guilty of choosing books by the cover and many times, this method does not fail me. I love to walk along a library or bookstore shelf in search of the next good read. Beautiful or interesting book c
I adored this book. It's nice to think there could be a Gregory in this world. Greg gets lost in the forest after not listening to his father to wait for him and they would explore the woods together. He's 12 years old and thought he'd be ok. Greg realizes he's lost, he's hungry getting tired and losing daylight. He thinks he hears something, but shrugs it off as animals or something. He hears what he thinks is a little kid crying, he looks around and follows the sound and there right before his ...more

"A Very Sweet, Dreamy Love Story"

I love Author Regina Puckett's stories. This is the first full-length novel I've read by her. This story takes place in her home state of Tennessee, in a small, friendly town. Twelve-year old Gregory Blackwell is in the woods. He's heading for his cabin where his father left him to drive to town to get supplies. He couldn't wait for his dad to return, and headed for the woods. He stops at a small, colorful creek and sits and sketches some artwork. When done, he's

This is true love at its finest. Waiting for Mary Elizabeth is such a sweet story. When Gregory finds himself lost in the woods he doesn’t think he’ll find his way out again but when he comes across a little girl who needs his help he calls upon his bravery to find a way to safety. A promise passes between them that they will get married one day, but no one believes it will happen that is except Mary Elizabeth and Gregory. This is a must read and worth 5 stars. You should check this one out and ...more

LOVE IS A PROMISE KEPT is a wonderful romance story which I read in a just a couple of days - it was hard to put done! It starts off when a young girl asks a boy to marry her after she gets lost in the woods and he finds her and takes her home. The boy promises to wait for her to grow up and when she does, he comes back to find her. They both still love each other, but as with all great romances, there are hurdles and obstacles to overcome before they can finally be together. I thought that this ...more

WAITING FOR MARY ELIZABETH is so much more than just a sweet romance -- it's conflict, humor, spice, and mystery. Ms. Pucket has done an excellent job revealing her character's strengths and weaknesses by throwing them into dire straits right away. From that predicament emerges a promise. Ms. Pucket has done a wonderful job of putting Gregory and Mary Elizabeth -- and that promise -- through the test of time. She brings them from their early years into adulthood, throwing obstacles in their path ...more

I’ve had this book for a while now and due to thing and another, I’ve only just got round to reading it. What a big mistake! I really wish I’d read it sooner. It’s such a lovely story which starts off when a little girl asks a boy to marry her after he finds her lost in the woods. The boy promises to wait for her to grow up and when she does, he comes back to find her. I won’t spoil what happens, but I will say that this is sweet romance at its very best. A great read!

I don't usually read romances, however, I was given this by the author and I really enjoyed it. It was very well written, with an intriguing beginning, followed by a sweet and delightful romance. It includes all the right ingredients for this kind of book and I would recommend it, even to those who don't target this genre.

It had good, believable characters that bring to life this charming romance.

Regina lives in Tennessee. She has been a writer for as long as she can remember. The only way she knows to shut the voices up is to tell their stories and to let them live among the pages of her books.

She loves writing in many different genres because life is too short to be stuck in a rut.
