Another great book in The Dark Lands trilogy. It picks up just after the surprising ending to book one, and carries on with the same characters. New characters are also introduced, but at least for now, they're all involved with characters that we already know so I didn't find it to be confusing. Additionally, this is a middle trilogy book that actually moves the story forward, many of the children have made their move into the dark lands in an attempt to end the shadow. Similar to the first book the changing viewpoints really drive tension towards the climax when the views start to come together as different parts of the puzzle come together.
