I read this for a Bible study through my class at church. At first I was extremely skeptical as I anticipated the author would present antiquated notions as to how women are to behave and be 'lesser' than the men in their lives...all backed by scripture. I am happy to say I was proven wrong.

Like The Resolution for Men, I'm declaring this book an absolute must read for women and young women.
Today's culture has completely muddied the definitions of husband and wife, father and mother, which are completely contrary to the definitions the Bible lays out. After much tossing back and forth from 4 to 5 stars, I feel I have to give this book 5 stars. A few months ago, I happened to pick this book up as a promotional item. It looked interesting and the reference to "Courageous" drew me in. I had no idea what to expect, but the writing suited my current lifestyle.

I read this book as part of a bible study through my church. Shirer combined personal stories with biblical principles and scriptures that make it clear the bible is relevant for all of us today. Each resolution is broken into subchapters, with questions following each, for the reader to discover how that specific resolution has or can be lived out. GREAT discussion topics for a study group or book club. I intend to go back thru each resolution in my own to dig into each a bit deeper.
This book was timely, sincere, sound, thought provoking, inspiring, but most of all effective. Let God use this book to help position your heart MORE RIGHTLY with HIM. Remember, He can use anyone and anything to bring you closer to Him; so DON'T allow the title of this book deceive you into thinking that this book "won't-bring-you-any-closer-to-God-because-it's-just-a-book-about-resolutions-anyway". This book was such a huge amazing help. My husband has been reading the men's version so I challenged myself. I was happy to see I was doing good in a few and I was glad I read it with an open mind and heart. God helped me learn so many things and I felt wiser upon completion and I am looking forward to reading it again and to continue to grow and be the best wife, mother, daughter, and follower of Christ I can be. I am definitely going to look up some of the other works by this author!
A book to read, a book to reread and a book to recommend. Run out and get this book as soon as you can! Without a doubt, a book that will forever change your heart and mind.
What would be even more awesome is if a ladies church group read it together and kept each other accountable! What a blessing they would be to themselves, their families and their churches. Which would reach others no doubt!

I honestly wasn't expecting much from this book, as it was a spinoff of a movie, and slightly off-topic at that. However, I found it to be more challenging and insightful than I expected, and it inspired some soul-searching on my part. In particular, I really enjoyed the chapters on parenting, and those that specifically addressed the relationship between husband and wife.
This is an excellent book and very easy to read!!! It teaches you to journal while you are reading and is written to make you deal with life situations you may have tried to forget. Even though I was brought up in church and raise my 5 kids taking them to Sunday school/church, this book puts LIFE into prospective!!!
I was expecting this book to be a bit superficial because it was commissioned by a movie. I also had low expectations for the depth of the writing since it is covering so many different topics. I was wrong on both counts. This is excellent insightful material, great for a small group study (our community group women are reading this together for our summer book group). The Resolution for Women is a dynamic chance for Christian women to look at their hearts, examine the God-given roles we have, and seek to live the free, full-of-grace way we were created. Kudos, Ms. Shirer, for following the Lord's will for your life.
Good. Read for a book club. Probably best as a small group where it could be gone through at a slower pace and really digested and implemented. Priscilla is fantastic and writes well - challenging, yet relatable and with humor.
Sorry folks, I was really disappointed after all of the hype I heard and reviews I read about this book. Maybe it was just my expectations. I would have preferred more meat. More Bible references to back up the message. I've read better and more inspiring works on these subjects on blogs.
Excellent book. I listed to this on audio and it held my interest. It encouraged me to think about things I hadn't thought much of or to think a little different about. I would recommend this to moms of kids of all ages.
This is a fantastic book I enjoyed from cover to cover. Every Christian woman should read this! My relationship with my husband and my view of myself were greatly strengthened through the messages in this book.
A definite read! Every woman - young or old - should spend some time with Priscilla Shirer. She has a comfortable way of writing but she will challenge you beyond the comfortable. Take your time and read it like a bible study so you have time to incorporate her challenges into your own life. Easy to break into readable chunks - just what busy moms and women need.
Shirer gives the best advice on being a woman of Christ and showing Christ's love to everyone. All advice she gives is Biblically based. I love how she reminds you the importance and where a Christian woman will be in her Christian walk after signing each resolution.
First time reading this author. Enjoyed the book very much. Purchased it in audio cd's and listened on my commute. So good I listened to several cd's twice so I could really let some of her wisdom sink in.
This book really give you things to think about and suggestions about how to put them into practice as a Christian woman desiring to serve God, your husband, your kids -- or even if you're single -- the people you come into contact with every day. I probably had entirely too high expectations of this book, since I loved the movie Courageous so much. This book was definitely good, but not quite as good as I had hoped. My favorite chapters were about embracing every season of our lives and being PRESENT, instead of just waiting for the next chapter; living with high standards of virtue and purity; loving our children; living with grace; and leaving a godly legacy. We did this book as a small group. I did all the questions, and came away with some things I learned. But it didn't have much of a lingering impression. Maybe it should have.
This book is a tool used after viewing the movie Courageous, but not necessary to watch movie to read book. Excellent book that brings a number of important resolutions a woman needs to look at, take to heart and put into action. good book!

So far, I love this book. Priscilla Shirer teaches with a fresh voice from a solid biblical foundation. Very inspiring and simultaneously refreshing.
Based on the movie Courageous, this book shows how to be a better woman, wife, mother, and person in general according to God's will!
I was suppose to do this book as a study with the ladies in my church this summer but for scheduling reasons I just didn't get it done but I did read it on my own. I had a friend tell me that is seemed to not fit her life stage or her walk with God. I can see how that can be it's very easy to read even for a non christan or a new believer and I think it would be helpful for them because it give just bits and beginings of some very simple life concepts in a believers life. This book actually got me thinking positively about my role as a mum and a women. Very inspirational.
Got this book for myself and the resolution for men for my husband. We are looking forward to reading them.
