I must say, it took me a second to wrap my head around the purpose of this story. It is NOT erotica, NOT romance. I don't say this negatively either. I mention it because this book is often compared to mine and it perhaps isn't a fair comparison. A lot of MY scenes ARE written in such a way to be titillating. This was just such an unexpected ride. I am still suspended in utter twisted disbelief here! This has got to be one of the most riveting psychological thrillers I have ever read.

First things first: Regardless of my star rating for this one, this book is pretty gosh-darn amazing and the second one kicks booty (js). I had the pleasure of reading both in a buddy read and it made the experience fabulous.

Dark, intense, emotional & though-provoking psychological thriller (not erotica or 'feel good' romance)
First 80% of book: 3 stars (it feels really slow and long-winded at certain parts in the book), last 20%: 5 stars (friggen brilliant!!)
I'm still at a loss for words about the end and just can not stop thinking about this book.
