I loved Grosz's first book, Wildlife Wars, but I found myself a little disappointed by his second installment. This book seemed to contain somewhat less story telling, and got much more preachy. It seemed as though Grosz was hoping that people who enjoyed his first book would pick up this one, and he used it as a pedestal from which he could preach his opinions about conservation at us. And while I didn't find myself disagreeing with most of what he was saying, it just wasn't what I was looking ...more

I really enjoy reading the stories of Terry Grosz. This was the second of Terry's books and depicts the start of his career as a federal agent in California. Terry has a great way of telling a story and his experiences in the wildlife wars are truely amazing.
