It is not a long story, though.
It is a 17,000-word novella.
Takes about an hour to read (or two at the most.)

When Zoey’s long-time boyfriend, Finn, cheats on her—kissing a girl he “just can’t resist”—he gives Zoey a “Free Pass,” telling her she can kiss any guy she wants. Finn is so cocky and sure of their relationship that the arrangement seems perfect. He’s not worried Zoey will fall for another guy, and he’s itching to get rid of his fe...more

It is very romantic and sweet and I could relate to the hurt and betrayal Zoey felt toward her boyfriend after he cheated on her and how that might make her feel differently toward their relationship, especially when hot Riley is so incredibly sweet to her. She was really torn between the two guys—and it was very realistic, I thought.
Super romantic story that made me go awww.
I recommend this story to YA readers that go for the romance and want a quick, light read.

The story is cute and sweet, full review yet to come
The Plot - It's simple and cute. Girl has a boyfriend. Boyfriend does stupid stuff. Boyfriend gives a free card to girlfriend so he can feel better about himself. Girlfriend likes cute guy (not her boyfriend) and don't know what to do.
The Characters - Zoey is a teenager that has to deal with a terrible lost and we see that when she talk and thinks. She is ve...more
Fall For Me by Melanie Marks sounded like a tempting and cute read. The “Free Pass” idea walks a fine line between sleazy and hot, but this story didn’t deliver on either side of the line.
This story had some cute moments, but it never builds off of them. We never really get to know any of the characters too deeply. I did feel for Riley a bit—the tortured best friend who adored Zoey from afar. They had some sparks together, but again it never progressed. The readers needed more time with...more
It's YA, costs .99 cents, and only takes about an hour to read.
The story is about Zoey caught between her long time boyfriend, Finn, and Finn’s hot, sweet best friend, Riley.
Summary from the book:

Update 2: The author has apologized for her email, which is appreciated.
I read a lot of self-published work (oh, my cheap-Kindle-book-buying addiction!) so I'm used to the grammatical errors and typos found so frequently in works like these. However, the writing in this novella felt very choppy to the point of making it almost unreadable. Obviously, it's okay to have incomplete sentences...more
The way he said that had my heart pumping all wild.
I went back to work and tried to ignore Riley’s aversion to me. And my co-workers’ aversion to me. Screw them. Screw them all. I needed the job, and I was good at it, dang good at it. And despite what the other waitresses said, I worked hard. I did. They were just catty, backstabbing, banshees. And who cared if I had no friends at the restaurant, anyway?
So, immediately this is starting to sound a little like the last book I read of Melanie’s which was His Kiss in that a hot guy wants a kiss from the girl who has a boyfriend. I ac...more

The idea behind the story was cute and there were moments when I really loved the story, but the greatness of the idea got lost in execution. I'd say this is more like 2.5 stars with two major complaints.
1-As other reviewers have mentioned, the gratuitous use of commas, hyphens and PERIODS (LIKE, for.crying.out.loud! - whatever.) were so distracting and really made it hard to read. Not to mention short, incomplete sentences abound. If I read t...more
I hate it when a guy thinks he can do whatever he wants behind his girlfriend’s back just because he knows she loves him and would be able to forgive him.
I hate guys who take advantage.
Why am I saying all these things?
Let me explain.
Zoey’s boyfriend kissed someone else behind her back and now Finn (Zoey’s boyfriend) gave her a “Free Pass”.
Free pass to kiss anyone she liked so that it would ease him of someone of his guilt on what happened. (I mean seriously?)
Zoey being the g...more
oh my gosh, the blurb is so so me? I'm a sucker for these type of books.. you know the books when somebody has always loved someone and the other person has failed to see it.
Let's celebrate that this surpass my expectation and left a lasting impression
I loved the chemistry between the two characters and there were moments when I was laughing so much I had to re-read it again. At times Zoey got annoying but quickly redeemed herself.
This book was really short, I practically read it in half an hour, not that I was timing myself but I guess that's a good estimate. I liked the way the main character expressed herself. She pretty much expressed herself like a typical I-don't-know-what-I-want hormonal teenager, she pretty much talked and bought like me. Not t...more
The characters felt two dimensional; barely even cardboard cut outs. Zoey/Jones narrates but hardly ever mentions the death of the dad, how it makes her feel, or any of other emotional stuff that makes readers feel. Riley is just the 'hot bod' that Zoey/Jones drools ov...more
The plot synopsis was a fun idea, but it turned into something not fun.
Again, the excuses and drama of the girl prevented the story from coming to a swift conclusion. The whole "he hates me" drama lasted ten pages longer than could have possibly been believed by an intelligent person, given the confusion and denial of the other party. Then, the whole playing pool scene. It did not feel like a natural plot progression. Again, it felt like the author was trying to drag...more
Fall For Me is a fast, flirty, fun read.
Say that 5 times fast!
Melanie Marks delivers another adorable short story! I am really enjoying her work and am looking forward to reading more. Fall For Me is a light, young adult novel. I read it under an hour! Plus, it's not expensive, only $0.99 on Amazon Kindle.
