Ugh. Thank goodness this was free. I was under the assumption this was a book, but after downloading it, I realized it was a novella. In fact, the whole series is comprised of novellas.

This is a very very short story about a young lady named Chloe who is the daughter of a vampire hunter and a vampire. When her mother is killed in front of her, she is taken to her grandfather's house to learn how to fight.

I am so sad that I have had this book for over a year and it just sat in my Kindle, sadly, waiting for me to open it and read it.
Gah! I am such a crazy person sometimes.
I hate it when I have no idea that a wonderful series is just sitting there, waiting for me to get my act together and start it.
I am so glad that the author nudged me into starting it. If I hadn't who knows how long it would have sat there and I would have been missing out.
I love discovering series that are just fabulous and yet...more

This looks like an interesting start to the series. I like that they are novellas and will be quick reads.
Chloe's need for revenge seems like it could be a driving factor for this storyline and I hope it helps to develop her character more. I also look forward to seeing Chloe living in the Vampire Hunter community.
I was shocked at the opening scene, only because it was quite dramatic. I know it was set up that way to show the need for revenge and to show the vampire/hunter dynamic.

Loved it! The first part in a 6 part series pulled me in from the beginning. Chloe is a strong female character that endures far more heartache and trauma than the average person but instead of defeating her it gives her new purpose in life. She has a lot to learn, but as I look to the next part in the series I am confident that she will rise to the challenge!

I was definitely going to give this novella five stars as it is a really terrific read, but I find it hard to take an author seriously when she (and her editor) overlook obvious errors in the story. I mean, come on, when you write a book you know what your main characters look like, right? Or do some authors make them up as they go? I had it on my kindle for long enough to not remember anything about it when I started reading it so I didn't know what to expect. Despite that, I found it predictable. Like some of the other reviewers I agree the story was too short. I was just getting good and hooked when I realized The End. This is the only thing about this book I didn't like. I personally do not prefer to read short stories because like in a series on TV you must wait to get the next little bit if there is more. I know there is another book and I will be hunting it down.

This was a very interesting fast paced read that draws you in within the first couple of paragraphs. Your leading lady is 14-year-old Chloe, who from the very start is attacked my vampires and witnesses her mother’s death. In a surprise turn of events she is rescued by vampire hunters and finds out that it runs in her blood. Now, with her mother dead and vampires gunning for her, Chloe starts her new life as a vampire hunter.

This book is amazing I mean to be so young and to find out who you really are and the things you can do. Chloe is a wonderful character and as soon as I c an I am going to get hte rest and read them. Thanks for a great book.

I love vampires, so this book is a winner on that alone (even though it focuses on hunting them.) This first book in a series of six short stories (with a possibility of more?) is a nice start to what could be a really good series if done right. I like how the author got right to the point of things and didn’t waste words on things that didn’t matter. That is always vital in the success of a first book of a series.

This s the first installment of an old fashioned serial novel! I love it! It has been a long time since I have read a novel written this way. I find it fun, fun, fun! This installment sets up the whole premise of the series beautifuly. I am actually goig to start the next one as soon as I finish this review so it is going to be super short ;).
