I am the mother of a self-injurious autistic child who is going through biomedical treatment like Sharie's daughter is, and I can't begin to express how much I love this charming little book. Sharie is incredibly witty without being cliche, and this telling of her experiences, in the form of short little vignettes, has made me feel more validated in my own struggles than anything I have ever read.

Shelves: funny, too-short, autism
I enjoyed this book, which is written by the mother of a child who has autism on the more severe end of the autism spectrum. Sharie writes with such wit and humor. Her style of writing reminds me of emails from good friends. This is not the book to read if you're completely unfamiliar with autism or looking for information on therapies, special diets, supplements, and so on.
