Girl Talk is a 200-plus-page, glossy, full-color book filled with questions from teen girls. Nicole O’Dell and her daughters Natalie and Emily answer each questions with wisdom and grace. This is a great book for a girl to read on her own, for sisters or friends to read together, or for mom and daughter to read a little each day as discussion starters for some great topics.

Some of my favorite questions asked for advice in regards to:
-When your friend is babysitting your siblings and bringing her...more

Girl Talk has over 200 pages. It is a full-color book filled with questions from teen girls. The pages are glossy and beautiful. Nicole and her daughters, Natalie and Emily answer the questions. This book can be used in different ways. A teen can read it by herself, with her sisters or friends or even for some great mother-daughter time. That is how I am using it in my home with my preteen daughter. We are going through it a page at a time and talking about the topic and the answers that were gi...more

Girl Talk is an amazing collection of Biblically-sound answers to some of life's hard questions thrown at young girls today. This isn't your average parenting book. The pages are brilliant and eye-catching. The content is given from both a parent's vantage point and a teen/tween's. Real live people answering real live questions.

What I enjoy most about this book is the way it sparks great discussions. Either from the topical introduction or the advice given. As the mother of a teen and tween daug...more

Typically, when I write a review; I make it one of general comments of my opinion about various aspects about the book I am reviewing. Such as the cover art, the story beneath the cover, the plots, twists and/or turns you, see or don’t see coming. I honestly can’t say I can do that with Girl Talk by Nicole O’Dell.

I agreed to read & give an honest review of Girl Talk because I have an eleven-year-old daughter I thought it would benefit her. I could never have been more wrong. I am sorry let...more

This is a wonderful and helpful book for any teen girl. It’s aimed more at girls who have problems that I (as a homeschooled girl) haven’t encountered so much – things including peer pressure, parents with divorce issues, fighting parents, keeping themselves pure, and much more. Not to say that homeschoolers don’t have those problems! It’s more that those things haven’t yet been a huge issue for me. For each question asked, Nicole gives a reply, and one of her daughters also gives perspective. T...more

Girl Talk was ok. It wasn't strictly bad or strictly good. It just seemed like a lot of the questions were easily answerable, similar, and not relateable to me. I think this book is really great for someone who doesn't know the Bible that well or who has just gotten saved, but because I've studied the Bible a lot and asked questions to my parents, youth leaders, and other Christian role models in my life, I didn't get as much out of this book as someone newer to the faith. I wouldn't say I don't...more

Even though I'm the author of this book, It's not cheesy for me to give it five stars, because I wrote it with my two daughters, Natalie and Emily. They always get five stars in my book! (pun intended!)

This is a great book for teen girls, and for moms to read and discuss with their daughters. The questions are from actual teens, questioning their faith, wondering how to navigate relationships, and asking for help for some of life's trickiest problems. If you're a mom looking for a great resource to help talk to your daughter about deep, important subjects, this book is what you've been looking for. And girls, if you're needing advice and not sure where to turn, this is for you. It's in an attr...more

I really enjoy Nicole O'Dell's radio show - Teen Talk Radio - so I wasn't at all surprised by how much I enjoyed Girl Talk. My daughter is four and a long ways off from needing a book like this but reading through it brought to my attention social issues that she'll need to be prepared for. This would be a great book for parents and daughters to read together.
