This book I picked up because it is set in the city I live in. It made it fun to actually know the places that were mentioned in the story.
It was a bit slow going to get into the story. I am not sure that many will get past the first half of the book which seems very disjointed and hard to stick with. Midway through the book, you finally get backstory on the main characters and the the story really picks up steam. It ended a bit sudden but the second half of the book made the book worth slogging...more

First book by a local Spokane author, taking place in Spokane, Seattle, and east into Montana. Rated the first 1/2 as a 4/5, but the second half weakened the novel. Backstories can be challenging, but that's where the strength wanes. Some could be omitted without any loss to the progression of the novel. Others needed better editing. But again, that first half! Rich prose truly well done. Looking forward to the author's next effort.
