Hell-Heaven is a colorful tale of reconciling the past, and pain that passes cultural divides. At the same time, it paints a wonderful portrait of rich Indian culture.

Hell-Heaven remains one of the best short stories I have read. Highly recommended. It surpasses cultural ties it is often tagged with, and is a deeply human story of love, loss, and coming of age.

The story really captures the cultural conflicts between traditional Indian values and modern American life. It's a coming of age story for a young girl.
