My Thoughts:
In this volume Caesar’s family starts to take more of an interest in Nakaba. They demand that she dye her hair black because they have another kingdom coming for a visit. When she refuses to do as they say Caesar’s family starts to force their ways on her. Caesar is not able to protect his own bride and this leads to some interesting character changes in Caesar. It's amazing how much more I liked this volume once the backstory made it possible for me to read Loki and Nakaba's relationship as a big brother-little sister one. :D I know I'm deluding myself and there will probably be ~romance~ later but whatever. Love triangles are no fun and I refuse to read this as one until I absolutely have to.
Needs more girls though. Nakaba's nice but there are currently far too many dicks on this dance floor. 3 stars

Well this is turning interesting. Also I didn't think I'd like Ceasar but you can't help at times. The guy's adorable. Loki is a mix of adorable and creepy but mostly sweet of course. Just hope the series stays this good. The character development for Nakaba, Loki and especially Ceasar is really good and I like that's early instead of in the middle of the series. Also Rito is freaking adorable.
I like this series, but it just can't seem to get past the "like" stage for me. Nakaba and Caesar are getting closer, but I still don't quite trust him. The Ajin seem to be important to society, but it's never really explained fully why they are important, or even "who" they are. The palace intrigue is slowly being revealed, so maybe the story will pick up in the next volume. I do like the "realistic" elements of the story. There is none of the chibi silliness in this series. But, it's definitel...more
Interesting twist... love is a complicated thing. Loki is starting to scare me.
So far Reimei no Arcana is an engaging tale set in a fantastic world. There are equal amounts of paranormal and historical elements, the plot is interesting enough to keep me reading, and the characters are relatable. An actual problem, though, is that the mangaka manages to create more or less multi-dimensional characters, making it hard to just cast the things they do or think aside as hate-crimes or plot-device-induced-idiocities. Going to copypaste that review to the tankobons I've read so f...more
We see in this volume now Princess Nakaba not only coming to terms with her mixed feelings for Prince Caesar, but we see how she is finding ways to change the kingdom's discriminating ruling system. She also may have found a new ally who could tell her more about her Arcana gift. I can't wait to see if new secrets are revealed in the next volume.
